The English tour guide in Budapest is very good. The Japanese tour guide kept talking to the driver when the English tour guide was introducing the sites to tourists.

We spent a week n Vienna and were ready to get out and see something different. The guides really knew their stuff! We had a typical Hungarian lunch and a walking tur of the old city. Then across the river to the "new" parts of town. This made a great day trip.

Good overview of city, however driving tour portion may be too lengthy, might have been better to give longer self exploring time after a short driving tour

Budapest was beautiful-- and the city is definitely worth seeing. However, the walking tour of Buda was worthless. We saw three sites and then the guide brought us to a gift shop. Worse, she actually LIED to us-- saying that we should do our shopping there because there were few souvenir shops on the Pest side of the river, where we would have our free time.

This was a wonderful trip. It makes for a very long day but it was a small group and we were treated very well and got to see a lot of things. Enough to know we would love to spend a couple of days there.

A very long day! However, it was well worth it. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable, but could be a little repetitive at times. It was a brief but thorough introduction to the city, and we will certainly go there again for a longer visit in the near future.

A good trip and the guides were really friendly. I definitely recommend anyone to take a day trip to Budapest. The lunch was pretty good, it cost 15 Euro for the set lunch. The bus ride was smooth and comfortable.

I was not expecting much from this tour, other than a highlight of Budapest, if that is what you are looking for, this is a great trip. My issue is that the first guide took us on a small bus tour, and then the local guide took us on a bus tour of the same streets, would have been more worth while to have more free time or seen other aspects of Budapest.

Because there were so many languages on this tour it wasn't the best I have done. You are probably better off traveling to Budapest yourself without a tour.

I gave this tour one more than the minimal because I feel it has potential. As it is set up now, go in with very low expectations. Its basically a tourist trap on a bus.You drive around seeing the same sites 3 or 4 times. why not make half the day a driving tour and the other half a walking tour where you actually go in to the major sites? Lunch was descent, the service at the restaurant was awful given there was no one else at the restaurant besides us. There was one couple and their son that we had to keep waiting up for at each stop along the tour. They keep wandering off taking pictures so the rest of us had to wait for them. This same family had issues with the fixed price meal and demanded something be specially made for them. Also, we stopped at some upholstery shop that had all junk. It was obvious the tour got some sort of kickback for bringing us there. We were told we could use the bathrooms but when i went to use it the owner of the store said no unless i buy something. It was all overpriced junk so i left. all and all a disappointment. Go on this tour if you want to see Budapest quickly and have minimal expectations.

In comparison to 5-star Vienna, Budapest is 2-star. The tour was handled just fine. Hero's Square was a bust. The Buda side church and old town square was OK. Overall, not worth a day away from beautiful Vienna.

It was a good trip. I liked the lead tour guide whose name I forget. My biggest problem was the lack communication before the trip such as the time of pick-up, the amenities on the bus, and a detailed tour schedule that would delineate what we would be seeing and why.

I thought the day trip was well organised, and the traditional lunch was very nice. There were 2 hours in the afternoon for free time after the tour. Overall, it was enough to see what Budapest had to offer and I don't feel that I missed out on anything. Would recommend this trip to anyone who just wants to see the main sites of Budapest.

My travel to Budapest was really enjoyable and fun. We have visit most of the highlights in Budapest. Due to time constraints, we had only limited time in roaming around the places. The walking tour is really fantastic, I spent the whole time taking pictures and appreciating the Budapest landscapes. I would recommend this tour to anyone so they can enjoy while learning the historical highlights in Budapest. Make your stay in Vienna a memorable travel experience.

Very interesting old city. There were however no stops en route where we could have had a snack or refreshments. We felt that the guide rushed us through to Budapest and pushed us all into a very early pre-arranged lunch in Budapest at a mediocre restuarant, when there were many others in the area that we should have been free to choose from ourselves. Otherwise a very enjoyable day

Some of my tour mates complained about not being picked up on time from their hotel despite their being ready early and have missed their breakfast. The tour schedule seemed to have a lot of slack time, which could be devoted to perhaps one visit to a museum, rather than embroidery store. The stop-over for restroom in the morning could have been done in one rest area on the way and take bruch, rather than stop near the center Budapest landmark only for RR and some photo shoots nearby wherein we were not even guided which one in the area are most historic and great significance to Hungary's existence. Upon arrival to Vienna, the tour guide did not ascertain that all people are properly accomodated to the vans which has picked us up in the morning bec Japanese ladies seemed do not know which van will they ride to bring them back to hotel. I think the overall program should be reviewed to continually entice more tourist to go in such far away places especially for those coming from Asia Pacific. Also, to avoid confusion, perhaps you can look at the possibility of providing tour groups with corresponding recorded tour briefer each that will aide them in following the tour guide similar to what is provided in Schonnbrunn Palace, especially when places visited is so crowded and we hardly can hear the tourguide. Thank you.

The Budapest trip was worth it if you want to see Budapest, but just to get an overview and spend the day. Good amount of time on your own to explore and lots of great information. The only downside was lunch. It was €15 per person, but the food wasn't very good and the waiters were very disorganized. My drink even came out in a dirty glass and I had to send it back. Good tour, but don't look forward to lunch.

The tour operator was so rude when I called in to confirm my booking. The bus would come to my hotel at 06:15 AM on Saturday and breakfast would not be ready at my hotel this early. So, I asked if there would be a breakfast stop along the way considering Budapest was 3 hours drive from Vienna. The reply was "You paid for the tour, either you come or can look after you breakfast". I have two kids aged 7 and 1 and yes breakfast was the most important thing for me in the morning._br/_ The tour was nothing special, just the usual.

Budapest is worth visiting. The guide spoke in 4 different languages sequentially, which becomes rather irritating after a while. She also repeated things far too much and was the worst guide I've seen in 10 countries in Europe. The local guided tour in Budapest was far too short.

Definitely not a city to be missed. The tour itself was well planned. I did not appreciate being told on the bus that we were going to be having a set menu for lunch at an extra cost. If we are to pay for our own lunch at an extra cost then it should be personal choice as to where we eat.

It was a fantastic and wonderful day tour that is truly worth what I paid. The tour guides were very nice and gave a detailed scenic description of Budapest. They were very attentive to the needs of the tourist. Whenever I am in Europe, I will make it a point to arrange a tour with Viator.

Well worth the trip, guide in Budapest was very knowledgable and helpful, definitely got the 'flavour' of this city very quickly. Excellent pick up and drop off service even though our hotel was in the business district of Vienna. Could have used a washroom stop on the drive back though.

I found it a very good trip, with plenty of time spent on the Buda side, including a walking tour of the major sites. Down by the river, Budapest really comes into its own, enhanced by the beautiful Xmas lights on the Four Seasons hotel on the Pest side. First we did a coach orientation of Pest. We drove past the famous spa in Budapest and after lunch went to the Buda side with a local guide. We also had time for a little bit of shopping. After visiting the sights on the Buda side we were driven back to Pest, where we were again let loose for around two hours. It was just a short stroll to the Xmas markets. Overall, I found it a good varied tour that gives you a taster of what Budapest has to offer and that fit a lot in the time. The two hour drive through the Hungarian countryside didn't reveal any dramatic landscapes, just flat countryside sometimes coming over a little on the poor side.

Great day out. I was only one of four people on the tour! Trip down was OK. True as others have mentioned that the guide is a little hard to understand, not impossible though, and does sound like reading from a textbook, but what do you expect? They showed a DVD about Hungary on the bus ride, which personally for me was information overload at 745am, but could be interesting for others. Lunch was at a hotel & not a traditional Hungarian restaurant, but it is a traditional Hungarian dish, and was really nice. Yes, perhaps it's too expensive, but you've just been dropped into a foreign city...it's a matter of convenience. Short bus ride past a number of sites, which others have complained about in other reviews - but with your 2 - 2.5 hours free time later on, you have more than enough time to get to all of these sites. You don't have a lot of time to, say, go into museums and so forth, but what do you expect from a one day trip to another country? The walking tour was excellent - a lot of interesting facts delivered by a very enthusiastic local, very easy to understand. It's a long day, but a great way to see all the main sites of Budapest, and good value for convenience & travel.
