Do not buy this - all our people who booked this concert were put in the very last row and had to walk up approx 200 steps - if you want to see this, book your seats independantly
Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this

We booked our concert two months in advance and we got bad seat even though we paid for the second best price. We paid $100 per person and got very bad seats in row 18 and we could not see anything. The concert was nice but the room was too small and the seating area was all on one level. If you had a tall person setting in front of you, you will not see anything.

The venue was very nice but we were not that impressed with the performance considering the high cost of the tickets. The fact that the lights were not dimmed coupled with the audience being able to take photos and videos of the concert made for a less than ideal setting. They also paused between every song for several minutes of bowing by the performers. We left at intermission.

Concert was nice, the conductor was very engaging with the audience and it is very close to center of the city. You also get a free cd. Programs are 5 euro extra at the concert. This concert hall and concert is also in the book 1000 Things to See Before You Die.

Superb tickets, 8 rows from the front with a clear view. Definitely good value and not over-priced. Book ahead and don't stress when you get there. Arrive early to pick the tickets up, box office is VERY BUSY!

It was a good experience at the Musikverein. However being right near the back of the hall we couldn't hear the singers so well. We had to queue twice for our tickets which could have been done better - quite a scrum!

A life time dream to attend a concert at this venue. Expected it to be in the main hall, so a little disappointment there. However the doors of the main hall were pulled back at their interval so that the whole place could be seen. Thoroughly enjoyed the music.

The venue for this concert was beautiful! I enjoyed the evening. However, if I return to Vienna I probably would not watch this concert again. It's definitely a concert geared towards tourists. The musicians were great.

Excellent concert with very good seats. Beautiful music! We had two 'treats' for the encore - Strauss' Waltz and the famous Radesky March!

This evening was loads of fun AFTER we finally managed to secure the tickets. We went to the Musikverein when the box office opened and were told to go to the ticket office. We went to the ticket office and the gal said to go back to the Musikverein at 7:00 p.m. and there would be a table set up. Low and behold, the same gal was at the table to give out the tickets for the voucher. She was very unpleasant in both cases. The concert, however, was lots of fun for lovers and non-lovers of Mozart. The conductor was a hoot. It was very interactive. It included a free CD of the orchestra which was a nice bonus. We would go again. Thanks.

The organisation on site was not ideal. We had to queue for tickets even though we had e-tickets. We were asked to come 15 minutes before the start but that would have been a problem as the queues were so long. The music presented was OK.

Beautiful music and very enjoyable. The best way to describe it is a "greatest hits" of classical music. There was even audience interaction via clapping a few times during the show which added to the fun.

A most enjoyable concert in the Brahmsaal, the smaller hall. The programme content, soloists and orchestra were excellent. The evening was completed by three encore items, an enthusiastic performance from the orchestra and soloists in traditional Mozart costumes. My previous visit was in 2002 and the concert was in the Goldener Saal, very grand! Brahmsaal was just a great experience and the audience was very appreciative of the experience! Highly recommended.

The concert was excellent and and the hall is a superb setting. Can be recommended for those who appreciate classical music as well as those who just want to experience the event. Tip: If travelling to the concert by UBahn or SBahn via Karlzplatz station make sure you exit from the end of the platform where the U2 train stops - follow the purple signs and then look for the Musikveren exit signs on the platform. The station is a large underground complex and leaving from other exits can result in you being a long way from the venue.

By far my favourite thing we did in Vienna. It was so much fun! The musicians were great, the opera singers were fun to watch and the conductor was hilarious. The Musikverein itself is gorgeous. The whole thing just feels special. I would recommend dressing up a bit though. Some people were wearing t-shirts and jeans and I think they felt a little out of place with everyone else. Overall, it is a fantastic choice.
