Washington DC Monuments by Moonlight Night Tour by Trolley

Washington D.C., United States of America

You haven't seen Washington DC until you've seen it at night! On this narrated evening tour, you'll enjoy the sights and sounds of Washington DC, and see first-hand how Washington turns into a different city when the sun goes down!

Onboard your trolley, you'll see 100 of Washington DC's most popular monuments and points of interest, including the Capitol Building, the White House, the Jefferson Memorial and the Washington Monument.

The trolley also makes night-time stops at the FDR Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Korean War Veteran's Memorial and the Iwo Jima Memorial, allowing you to see these impressive monuments floodlit by night.

While you tour, your guide provides entertaining anecdotes and historical information about the sights, along with a sprinkling of bewitching ghost stories about the spirits who haunt the nation's capital.

Our guide was Bill. What wonderful commentary he gave us.We were not rushed on any of our stops and had been given informative comments on the way. I would thoroughly recommend this tour.

DC at night is a magical experience! The tour guide we had was very enthusiastic and patriotic, which was refreshing and fun (although she did get a lot of facts wrong...mainly with her numbers...like saying tat Gettysburg was 2 miles North of DC and that the head on the statue of MLK weighed 36,000 tons) but other than that kind of inaccuracy throughout the trip, it was very enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone visiting DC...even if you have seen it before.

Excellent trip :- We left at 7;00 and return to the station after 10:00 so were gone for more than three hours. Saw Linciln Memorial , Iwo Jima, Martin Luther king memorial and others. Guide was excellent would recommend for people with limited time at Washington or want to get to the more remote memorials easily.

Outstanding tour! Tour guide, Bill Thomas was exceptional: friendly, well informed and articulate. The memorials we saw sparkled in the darkness and the three stops during wish we had time to get out of the bus and spend time were inspiring. We walked around 1. FDR and MLK, Jr. memorial, 2. Lincoln, World War II and Viet Nam memorials and 3. Iwo Jima statue. From the bus we saw and learned the history of Arlington Cemetery (the Lees, _br/_ Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the eternal light flickering at JFK's gravesite), Jefferson Memorial and other historic areas. _br/_ It was an awesome and educational night and _br/_ I recommend it with enthusiasm.

Nice to see monuments by night. Guide was full of ridiculous jokes and not greatly knowledgeable.
Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

Mike, our very knowledgeable tour guide, was excellent. We had a lot of time to get out of the bus and look around at various points of interest, and between stops we were treated to excellent views and informative, entertaining stories about D.C.'s most exciting and intriguing landmarks. We would definitely do this again (particularly as the museums don't stay open this late)!

Had a fun evening tour with my friend. Despite seeing the monuments already in the day time it was great to see them at night. In my opinion the Lincoln Memorial was better at night due to less crowds. Loved seeing Iwo Jima Memorial at night too. Driver/guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed ourselves.

I really enjoyed the tour. Our guide, Drew, was full of all kinds of great information and really seemed to love his job! I really wish I would have gone during the day to get better pictures now though. The only thing that was not so great was getting the passes. I had a confirmation email that said I could show the confrimation on my blackberry. I couldn't print it out because the hotel I was staying in when I made the reservation would have charged me to use their computer. When I tried to tell the man at the ticket booth that I had the info on my phone he wouldn't even look at it and made a huge deal of the fact that he was really being nice by letting us go on the tour still even without the printed copy. The whole process for that part was confusing because of the email instructions and then the guy there didn't make things any easier.

This tour was totally worth the money I paid (only £19). It lasted 2.5 hours and we saw all the monuments and memorials we wanted to see, the tour guide was very informative and knew so much about the history of the city. I would defiantly do a tour like this again.

It was informative and enjoyable. I thought there would be more photo taking opportunities ... but, there were only three. Still, the tour provided us with a good overview of D.C. with historical facts. Not bad for the price. I recommend it.

A brilliant evening lasting nearly 4 hours. Our driver, Bill, gave us a very interesting tour with lots of stories as we whizzed around D.C. The stops were timed to perfection and we were guided in what to look for. Washington at night was truly"awesome" and the trolley bus tour gave you the safe way to see it all. Well worth every penny, oops dollar.

I enjoyed seeing the monuments by night but we had trolley trouble so it extended our evening quite a bit past it's scheduled time. I wouldn't recomment this because while the monuments are beautiful,I really couldn't see any of the sights. I really wanted to see the Vietnam Memorial and it wasn't visible. What a disappointment.

Fantastic and well worth the $. I brought my two 18 year old Nephews with me and it was one of the highlights of our week long stay in DC. After 2 day's of walking who knows how many miles, it was a real pleasure to sit in a trolley, relax and learn along the way... Would do it again.

Enjoyed the tour of the monuments. Weather worked in our favor. I thought the driver talked a bit too much. He could've shared facts while driving instead of stopping and providing us with 5-10 minutes of facts.

The tour guide was knowledgeable and shared interesting facts related to the monuments. Missed seeing the FDR memorial and didn't even do a drive by of the White House. We were told to look "to your left" to see the South Portico of the White House. Really? The most famous home in the country and it isn't even on the tour route!

This tour was informative. I would have liked more time at some of the locations as the crowds made it difficult to take good photos._br/_ However the places we saw were breath taking by moonlight._br/_ Would recommend this tour for the views but not to good for taking photos

The evening started out rough with no organization on a busy night at the pickup spot at Union Station. The scene was so crazy that I thought it would turn into a riot with people pushing and cutting ahead of folks that had been there for hours. It would have been helpful to know that there were 10 busses scheduled, and to have someone lining people up. Once on the bus, our driver, Jazzy-Jane was outstanding, and the stops were perfect. This was the first trip for our 13 year old grandson, and Jazzy made it fun, interestings, and an overall memorable experience.

This is a "MUST SEE" while in DC. The tour was awesome! Nothing beats seeing the monuments lit up at night and the tour guide was fantastic! I HIGHLY recommend this tour and booking it through Viator, as I got a considerable discount than what other sites were offering.

Definitely a value. The down side was not enough time at monuments as guide parked far away so time was lost in walking to and from bus. The guide Ellie provided interesting facts, and was very knowledgeable.

Beautiful views that our driver worked to make sure we could all see and get pictures. Our driver was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We could have used more time at some of the monuments, but it is a great introduction to the city. From there, you can decide which you want to return to.
