Beyond the Lifts - Backcountry Ski Tour

Leave the lift lines behind this winter on one of these professionally guided backcountry ski day tours! Enjoy awesome powder skiing and snowboarding in the backcountry surrounding the Whistler Blackcomb ski area. Lift access, skins, specialized ski touring bindings for skiers, and splitboards for snowboarders are used to access the backcountry.

The big mountain backcountry outside the Whistler Blackcomb ski area offers a multitude of bowls, glaciers and gladed runs to choose from. Conditions are almost always favorable with lots of powder to ensure great turns for all.

Your experienced ski guide will provide instruction on backcountry equipment usage and lead you down some memorable ski descents. Intimate group sizes provide individual attention and a day at the right pace.

Geared for intermediate, advanced and expert skiers or snowboarder. Participants must be comfortable and confident in intermediate terrain [blue runs] in variety of snow conditions. Skiers, telemarkers and snowboarders welcome.

Includes

• Avalanche safety equipment - transceiver, shovel, probe
• Professional guide - maximum 6 guests to 1 guide
• The backcountry skiing experience in Garibaldi Park (adjacent to Whistler Blackcomb resort)
• Approx 3 – 5 runs and up to 5,000ft of vertical depending on ability and fitness level

Important Information

• A Backcountry Lift Pass is required and can be reserved in the form below ($41)(or you can use a Day Ticket / Season Pass / Edge Card if you have one)
• Backcountry touring skis or splitboard / climbing skins are required. These are avalaible for rent ($30) and can be reserved in the form below
• Recommended minimum age is 12 years
