3-Day Lake District Discovery

Windermere, United Kingdom

Enjoy two nights stay at Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel located close to Lake Windermere. This comfortable hotel, formerly owned by Beatrix Potter is set in 6 acres of mature gardens and offers superb accommodation and fine dinning in it's award winning restaurant. Views over the lake and to the fells are spectacular anytime of the year.

On Day 2 you will join the Ten Lakes Spectacular to Ullswater, Borrowdale, Buttermere and Beyond tour which covers Ten Lakes, three mountain passes and an extended lake cruise from the mountains to moorland on Ullswater - "Queen of the English Lakes", a beautiful waterfall, Castlerigg Stone Circle and the ancient township of Keswick for lunch.

Certainly the most comprehensive, popular and satisfying tour in the Lake District, visiting central, north, north-west and north-east parts of Cumbria with so many stops for photographs and short walks.

Dear Sirs,_br/_ I have already sent you a separate E-Mail to which I didn't get a reply. I stated that the trip was fine apart from the fact that we didn't get our lake cruise, the lake was too windy apparently. This was approx my twentieth trip with Viator and like all the others very good, Obviously you can't be blamed for them cancelling a lake cruise. _br/_ Sincerely,_br/_ Michael Mahon.

We could not say enough nice things about our stay in the Lake District. The hotel was just the best from the facility to the dining to the best personel. The tour guide was the best and because we had so much sunshine, it was perfect. Thanks for putting this together.

Lindeth Howe Country Hotel was a wonderful place to stay, fantastic service with a smile, excellent food and beautiful rooms. I wouldn't really call it a 3 day tour since there is really only one day of actual tour with 2 nights accomodation but the one day Lakes tour was lovely. Mountain Goat are excellent tour guides and I would be more than happy to do another tour with them. Best advice to give you is to confirm a pick up time before you arrive as there isn't really an official pick up place and time. Also, on your first day, leave enough time to walk to Bowness and go to the World of Beatrix Potter and a Windermere Lake cruise to Ambleside.

This tour was our favorite part of our whole trip to England, wish we would've stayed longer! Picked up from the train station by a tour rep and brought to the Lindeth Howe. The hotel staff were the best, so helpful and friendly! We received a tour of the hotel and then were taken to our room on 2nd floor. No elevator, but staff will carry your luggage up for you if you desire. Room was spacious, but decor was a bit dated, our view was a tiny courtyard and the roof, so not spectacular but didn't really care. Dinner was amazing both nights, so delicious, gourmet and fancy! Note, you order dessert after dinner, and it is included with the meal as long as you don't select from the a la carte menu otherwise you get charged, also beverages besides tap water are not included, those are extra. The maids perform a turndown service while you are at dinner i.e. they prepare the bed, turn on the lights and close the curtains for you and leave a chocolate on your pillow which we thought was different but unique. Breakfast is continental buffet or you can order a hot breakfast from the menu, either way it's all included in the package price was just okay compared to the awesome dinner!. The 10 Lakes Spectacular tour the next day was amazing! You're on a minibus of 16 people max, and you see so many sights, it's the best tour out there. I only wish I would've been writing down all the names of places we stopped at so I can label my pictures properly. The next morning we were picked up at the hotel and brought back to the station, everything worked out perfectly! A definate must do package tour!!!!

The tour was fantastic, and I would definitely do this again; however, I feel the company was disorganized and, although extremely helpful, made a few mistakes that were to do with organization. The employers, I felt, were not altogether behind their company. The accommodation was wonderful, but the communication about where and when the tour was to start was confusing. However, the company management accepted responsibility immediately for the mistakes and was quick to rectify them.
