Next you're off to Weggis, from where a cable car and cogwheel train take you to the top of Mt. Rigi. Here you will have two and a half hours to soak up the breath-taking views, partake in an exciting downhill sledge ride or enjoy a walk in the snow. Admire the spectacular views over the Swiss Alps and thirteen lakes from the summit of Mt. Rigi.

Descent by cog-wheel train, followed by a romantic boat ride to Lucerne. Enjoy up to two hours at leisure to explore the charming Old Town. Return to Zurich, where the tour will conclude.

Please note:
This tour includes a multi-lingual guide throughout the tour except for travel up and down Mount Rigi and during the boat ride. For this part of the tour, you will receive timetables and detailed information sheets about the journey. You can choose to stay on the mountain for one or two and a half hours.

Me and my wife were on our honeymoon, so we wanted to go somewhere we could relax and enjoy the wonders of nature, this trip gave us everything we could ask for! The day started with the perfect weather, nice sunshine with cool breeze. The tour guide from The Best of Switzerland tours, Andy, was very friendly and polite. So moving on, we took the coach ride all the way to the start of the cogwheel train station.The Blue cogwheel train up to Mount Rigi was very nice, lets you sit back, relax and enjoy the very scenic views as you make your way up to Rigi. Once at the top, the majestic views of the Swiss Alps awaits you, we were so in awe of the beautiful Swiss alps. At the top of Mount Rigi there's like a small cafe where u can get your coffee and snacks. After an hour or so at the top, we ascend back down with the Red cogwheel train and finally we took the boat and make our way back to Lucerne, the boat ride was great as well. Overall this trip is very well worth it, we enjoyed ourselves and its a part of our honeymoon we would never forget!

from being picked up on time at our hotel and being able to bag the front seats to being dropped off at the coach station 10 hours later we had a wonderful day. it was my 50th birthday and going up a mountain in the swiss alps was just the way to spend it. our rep was very informative and friendly.we arrived at the cable car and it set off after just a few minutes. then on up to the summit. oh my what can you say about the views. breathtaking / stunning/fabulous etc. we have never been anywhere like it before. we didn't stay as long as the tour guide suggested as it was a very cold and windy day up there, but we caught the train back down and got on an earlier boat with no problems. the journey down to lucerne was just lovely complimented a tasty glass of birthday wine.the sights of lucerne more than lived up to our expectations and we met the coach at the arranged meeting point. it's a pity it was a sunday as most of the shops were shut, but it didn't spoil a very memorable special birthday. thankyou from diane and eddie

Enjoyed the tour although did not realize it was a self-guided tour until I arrived. My friend decided to take a sled down Mt Rigi and the sled took her down the other side of the mountain and we were separate for over 2 hours! A stressful 2 hours! But the scenery was beautiful and Carnival was going on in Lucerne.

A great day - the trip provided a variety of activities, the coach, the gondola, cog wheel train, and boat. The highlight was sledging in the beautiful Alps. Would recommend the trip to all that enjoy adventures.

An enjoyable day in the mountains but could be shortened up by at least two hours. The boat tour would have been more enjoyable had the attendant not been so rude. We were very rudely shuffled off the upper deck because we weren't "first class". For the price we paid for this day trip we certainly should have been. A nice way to enjoy the mountains but quite pricey!

The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Mount Rigi was beautiful especially for someone who has never seen snow. Lucerne was also lovely and you can decide how much time you spend at each place. The guide drops you off at the cable car and then picks you up in Lucerne so you are really paying for transport and some information on the bus trip to Mount Rigi. I enjoyed the day though.

The Mount Rigi Tour gives you a variety of things to see in the Swiss Alps area. The transportation was safe and comfortable, the meeting point was easy to find and the overall logistics of the tour was planned very nicely. I would say the only downside is we probably had a little too much time on the top of Mount Rigi with not much to do if you don't bring snow gear. I would maybe mention in the Marketing material that it is highly recommended to bring snow gear with you so individuals can go sledding at the top without having to worry about getting their clothes wet!

A great way to see alot in one day. The bus station is central, the tour guide was excellent and the combination of guided and self guided was perfect for me. Christmas is a great time to see the traditions of Switzerland.

The trip itself was pleasant with beautful views, it was disappointing that we did not have our expectations met as I belivee the descriptions for transport up the mountain were overly exaggerated. The tour guide was informative but I think that Viator group was very misleading in their descriptions and we were lead to believe there would be 'old cogwheel' train not new electronic trains similar to anywhere else in the world and a cable car ride which was not offered or compensated for. We were also lead to believe there was snow up the moutnain and we would be provided warm boots and clothing, neither was the case. The ferry across the lake was beautiful. Would have liked a guide or itinrerary for the day.

We were promised hotel pickup offered to certain hotels and we manage to book the same to get the hotel pickup service. Finally, we were charged CHF 20.00. Very annoying situation! Could not enjoy the cable car ride since it was closed for maintenance. For all the viewers, you will be left alone until the end of the tour with the limited information and guidance. Tour guide was available for less than a hour till the time we reach the train station. No guide available when needed!!!. Still like to recommend to others since the place is great and we had a nice experience. Good to have a group to avoid getting lost! I rather rate is as self tour.

Mt. Rigi excursion is a fantastic opportunity to relax while being at the Alps! The tour guide is a well educated man, who tells you everything that you need to know before he continues with the other group. It is perfectly plan and very simple to execute, so much so that I became the tour guide of the few ones that were with me! The boat that took us to Lucerne was a blast! It is not only comfortable, but it also offers fantastic scenery and excellent restaurant services. Don't miss it, it might be the best excursion on your trip!

This would have been 4-star, absolutely loved it, if the guide had been better. Although we knew we were on our own for part of the trip, the guide should have spent time with the Mt. Rigi group on the bus trip to let us know what all of our options were. We and others on the trip from Nepal, South Africa, and another lady from the U.S. wasted way too much time on Mt. Rigi and in Lucerne. When, if we would have been properly apprised of various options, we could have had a lot more time for doing various things. But the trip to the top of Mt. Rigi and the boatride back back to Lucerne should not be missed. Those parts we absolutely loved.

Great experience, included cable car, cog wheel train and boat trips on the one tour. Time on Mount Rigi was wonderful. A few more suggestions about possible places to eat and train times might give more time on the mountain. Guide was brilliant.
