Amsterdam, Netherlands

Immerse yourself in the charm of the Netherlands with this combination of two best-selling tours at a discounted price. Take a morning tour from Amsterdam to see the famous Zaanse Schans windmills and the quaint fishing villages of Marken and Volendam. Then, continue your day trip from Amsterdam with visits to two don't-miss Dutch cities: Delft and The Hague. Lastly, enjoy about an hour at the wonderful Madurodam miniature park. If time is tight and you'd like to travel beyond Amsterdam, this action-packed, full-day tour shows you the best of the Netherlands. Even better, you'll enjoy about a 9% discount when you buy these tours in this way.

Zaanse Schans Windmills, Marken and Volendam Trip (Morning)
Travel by coach from central Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans to see its famous massive windmills. Capture your share of windmill photos, see wooden houses and old-fashioned stores, and visit a maker of wooden clogs. Next, you'll drive to the quaint fishing villages of Marken and Volendam, where you can see locals wearing traditional Dutch clothes. To get from Volendam to Marken, take a 20-minute boat ride, with approximately 45 minutes at each stop (summer only). You’ll also stop at a cheese factory, where Dutch cheeses are still made in the traditional way.

Delft and The Hague Half-Day Trip (Afternoon)
Right after your morning tour ends, continue sightseeing with your afternoon tour. Head to the picturesque town of Delft to visit a famous producers of Delft pottery, the Royal Delft — the last remaining factory of the 32 that were established in this city during the 17th century. Witness the production process of this iconic blue-and-white pottery during a demonstration, and browse the museum to see a collection of earthenware antiques. You'll also see a reproduction of Rembrandt'sThe Night Watch artwork made from Delft blue tiles.
You'll then have 30 minutes to explore the historic city center on your own. Highlights include Oude Kerk (Old Church), Nieuwe Kerk (New Church), the Oostpoort (Eastern Gate) city wall remains and the historic Waag (Weigh House).

From Delft, continue to The Hague, the former capital of the Netherlands and its third largest city. There will be a tour of the city by coach to see the Houses of Parliament and Noordeinde Palace, the 'working palace' of King Willem-Alexander. There will also be a photo stop at the Peace Palace.

Lastly, visit Madurodam, the Netherlands' famous miniature park at a 1:25 scale, and marvel at famous Dutch buildings and landmarks.

Throughout your tours, listen to commentary about the sights from your expert guide and capture photos of the crafts, culture and traditions that define the Netherlands. End your 11-hour Super Saver tour of the Netherlands in central Amsterdam.

Our guide was great and very knowledgeable. The only downside were the people with children who were rather unruly and rude. Also, if you would like to take a picture, please step to the side, so you don't hold up the entire line!

Comprehensive tour. Zaanse Schans was fabulous but the afternoon although interesting we seemed to jump quickly from spot to spot.

great day trip thoroughly enjoyable and very informative particularly the windmills ceese factory abd clog makers the miniature village and the boat ride was worth doing would only suggest that if you want lunch its best to go to another venue than with the main party as the sevice was slow due to amount of people

We got to see alot in one day, but it was actually too much. The trip went too fast from one location to another to really enjoy the stops. I would have preferred we went right to the wooden shoe factory first, but we walked through a small town to get there which just took up time. In fact the shoe factory could have been dropped all together for more time at the windmills. The town we ate lunch at looked like fun, but there was no time other than in the cheese factory and lunch. No free time at all to look around. The Hague was just a driving tour going past the sights, not stopping at any other than Madurodam. I enjoyed the tour but would have enjoyed a more relaxed day of seeing some of the sights on the list.

First part of the trip was really nice and it went in a pleasant pace. Our tour guides were really helpful and kind and it was fun to see and hear about Dutch history. Problem was that we had to go back to Amsterdam and wait for another bus to take us on the other part of the tour. We were waiting on the side of the road for one hour. Because of that everything felt little rushed and when we finally get to Madurodam it was already dark. Guide was nice and people at Madurodam kept it open for our group so it was a real effort from them to make it up to us.

Overall this tour was pretty good. It was interesting to see the windmills and talk to someone who used them on a daily basis. Time was a little short for exploring on your own, but still good. The wooden shoe making and cheese factory was also interesting. I really liked the Delft tour where they explained how the pottery was made. The only problem was it did not leave much time to shop. The Hague part of the afternoon tour was a little disappointing. We only got off the bus for a couple of minutes to take a closer look at things.

Review by:   Kevin R,    October 2017 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
This tour was operated by Lindbergh and I do not recommend one bit. The time we got at each location was nowhere near enough time especially with the number of people they take on there tours. I could see the sweat dripping of the forehead as the girl at Delft tried to condense her tour into 30mi

This was a very busy day. The Zaanse Schans Windmills, Cheese Factory, Clog making and Volendam were very interesting and we could have spent the entire day just at those places. It was a bit rushed but lots to experience. The Delft, Hague and Madurodam trip was okay but really needed more time. We rode in the bus a lot and saw the Hague from the bus. The Delft was interesting and the time spent there was the right amount. Madurodam was interesting and well worth the visit.

Our tour was well worth it. Our tour guide was very informative and explained everything in great detail. He appeared to enjoy what he was doing and therefore it made our trip very pleasant. We learned a lot about the Netherlands.

These two half day tours of areas away from Amsterdam were well run and represented excellent value for money._br/_ They covered everything we were expecting to see and more._br/_ The pace and content of each tour was well balance the quality of the coaches used were of the highest standard. The amount of free time for meal breaks and the chosen locations was fine._br/_ The only thing that was a tab underdone was the amount of available time in The Hague to have good look around at this amazing city.

This is such a great way to pack in all of the iconic items of the Netherlands into one day. We enjoyed the morning tour more as it was really exciting to go inside a working windmill, try on clogs, and eat lots of cheese samples! The Royal Delft is definitely worth visiting but the Delft town square isn't that interesting. Would've liked to spend more time in the Hague instead. They keep the Madurodam open after hours exclusively for our tour, but then they only gave us about 45 minutes to walk through. Would've been nice to have at least a full hour. Overall, it's a perfect way to pack in sights outside of Amsterdam.

Lots of walking, but we did it two 65 plus adults. Great tour. Our tour guide was very informative and gave us some free time, also. We enjoyed seeing how they made wooden shoes, cheese and the waffle cookies with caramel inside. Could have spent more time in a couple of places, but that seems to be the case no matter what you do on tours. It did make for a long day. The tour left at 8a.m. and went until 8p.m. I felt we got our money's worth. Headed to Subway Sandwiches for dinner.

Loved it, beautiful countryside, cheese maker there had amazing Gouda, windmills was great to see gets VERY packed tho in the windmill so you will get up close and personal with other tourists, Delft nice to see very expensive to buy there though but some smaller items if you wanted a take home item, overall friendly staff, efficient check in process, easy to locate the buses. Well worth it. Great tour

Review by:   Miss Emily M,    May 2017 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
The tour group was such a big size and wasnt split into those who could speak the same language, so after the guide said something in English, they would then say it all over again in Spanish, French etc which took up a lot of time. We also did the villages in reverse which made no sense - we started in Volendam where we went to the cheese factory charming but I didnt feel we learnt much! and then there was supposed to be a waffle demonstration but as the group was so big, the talk had already started by the time the whole group had finished filing into the room. Wed already spent 45 mins here when the guide said we were now having a break for lunch - it was 10am! No one was hungry for lunch but we were told that there would be no opportunities for a lunch break later. This was frustrating and we had already seen the whole village, so another hour here seemed like a waste of time.

Can't go to the Netherlands without seeing a REAL Dutch windmill! Loved the Delft visit - and would have loved to have brought a piece home with me a large piece. The only problem? I had a weight problem - of baggage that is, so had to miss out. Had never heard of Madurodam! Now that is a real must see! An awesome day!

After being marched thru Volendam, Marken, and Zaanse Schans just to get to some brief talk about cheese, shoes, or windmills there really was not much free time to wander around the sites. Ohh and we ate lunch at 10am too. The second half was not better. We were skirted off one bus to another to be taken to Delft. After the Delft tour, which was ok, we walked to the city center but it closes at 5. Most shops and restaurants around the square were closed. I did not get any value driving around the Hague looking at buildings either. Madurodam was the end of a really long day. I skipped that part of the tour.

Very nice tour of the windmill area. Lots of things to see. The tour took us through the cheese making area, and then on to how they make_br/_ wooden shoes. Very informative. Jaime, our tour guide, and Marvin, our driver worked very hard and made sure we were all taken care _br/_ of._br/_ Then later we enjoyed the bus ride through The Hague. Steffan was also very knowledgeable and Richard our driver was very friendly._br/_ We went on to Madurodam which is a miniature city of Amsterdam. Truly amazing. Lots of fun!

This was a good way to see a lot of Holland in a day. We had a hotel close to Dam Square. The ticket office for Lindberg Travel is located there. It was easy to find and our vouchers were scanned and we had tickets. You are escorted by an individual carrying a sign to a location about 2-3 blocks away where you get on the bus. Earphones are provided and there is a narrative and the guide enroute. We went to Volendam, a quaint seaport town, where we visited the cheese factory, had a presentation on making cheese, accompanied with tasting. Of course we purchased some to bring home. We were fortunate that there were many boats in the marina as there was to be a race. The band was playing, the boats exited the marina, preparing to race. We got on a boat Marek express to cross the lake over to Marek, where we saw how they make wooden shoes the old way and the new mechanized way. We boarded the bus again and were off to Zaanse schans windmills. We went inside the Het Jonge Schaap windmill, it is a cap winder sawmill and they have about 75 volunteers that run and give presentations on the operation. It is an actual functioning sawmill. We had about an hour there, would have like longer. We started at 8:45 am and got back to Amsterdam about 2:30pm. We were pretty exhausted by them, and would recommend possibly doing the morning portion, which is about half the price of the full day. We did press on and went to Delft and the Royal Delft factory for a tour, a lot of sightseeing from the bus. We went on to The Hague and the Peace Palace and Maturdam. This is a miniature copy of many of the sights at 1/25th scale. Much of it was being worked on and could have easily passed on it. Not spectacular. We arrived back in Amsterdam at approximately 8:45pm. It was a long day and should have passed on the afternoon. The morning tour of a quaint dutch seaport and Marken and the windmills were superb and we would have been satisfied with that. Our guide was very knowledgeable with excellent language skills.

The first part of the tour was Windmills tour. Would strongly recommend. Visited a working windmill producing peanut oil. At the end you will return back to Amsterdam to change buses for the second half of the tour._br/_ Will not recommend combining 2 together as we were very tired by the end of the Windmills tour._br/_ Delft visit to the pottery factory/shop was very good. The Hague you only see from the window of the tour bus waste really, no photo stops. And Madurodam is like a smallest version of the miniature village in LEGOLAND UK. Therefore, for us the second trip was a waste of our time and money.

The problem with tour was that daylight saving had finished the night before and by the time we mad e it to the Hague it was dark. I imagine that this trip would work well during the height of summer. I missed a lot of the Hague that I would have liked to see. Maybe another time.

This tour has a great itinerary. However, we felt that it was too long and tiring. It is actually a combination of 2 tours. By the time, we reach the Hague, we were too tired to enjoy the tour. Would advise interested tourist to do the tour on different days if you have the time. Otherwise, brace yourself for a very long tiring day. Note that I am a fully fit marathon runner, although at 50 years old. I still find this tour a stretch.
