Great day in Bruges. My family and I liked the one hour tour with Pieter and the 3-4 hours on our own to explore the area. We would definitely recommend this tour to others. Came back with some great Belgium chocolate!

Bruges is a lovely city- I did not realize it would be a 6+ hour roundtrip in an 80 passenger double decker bus. The seats simply could not comfortably accommodate my 6'4' frame- not even if I were 5'10

The bus trip was fine and as fast as it could be to Bruges. We were disappointed in the guide. Perhaps he could not give as much information as he may liked because it was both in English and in Spanish, but we did not get the history we wanted. Also, he walked far on ahead and we could not always follow him.

This day trip from Amsterdam was long, giving plenty of time to make a first acquaintance with Bruges. Galler Chocolates and The Chocolate Line vied (and tied) over my sweet tooth. Don’t miss Michelangelo’s lovely Madonna and Child. And a trip around the canals was good fun! My biggest complaint of the tour came when a passenger was left behind. We were a good way down the road when the guide was contacted and told we had to turn around and go back. This added well over an hour to the return trip. I would suggest the guide do an official count and give his contact information in case a passenger can’t find the bus (it’s a bit tricky).

Viator did a nice job coordinating the travel and the tour guide was fun and informative. However, Bruges was overly commercialized, which seemed to distract from the historical significance of the town. Note that public restrooms charge a fee for use. You would think that the restrooms would be well-kept and stocked with supplies as a result of the fee but unfortunately this is not the case.

I highly recommend this tour mainly because Maryann, the tour guide, made it incredibly interesting. A guided tour was slightly fast paced but it give us time to do a good amount of exploring on our own and also enough time for a quick lunch. It’s a great little town that was far more enjoyable than the Amsterdam experience

Having just come off the heels of awesome tours in Britain, I was super disappointed by the tour. The location itself was beautiful. We did two tours with Lindbergh travel via Viator and both were at beautiful locations with so-so accommodations. 1 The tour bus is huge and is packed with people. You are asked to sit in the same spot to and fro. People did not follow this rule and it caused more drama than was necessary at the start of our trip back. 2 Unlike other tours I have been on, they packed people of three different language backgrounds on the same tour. The tour guide had to give the same tour in three different languages which really detracted from the experience. We got a third of his time and attention. It would make more sense to offer tours in different languages than to pack everyone on the same bus for a multi-language tour. 3 Our trip had less than five hours in Bruges because we waited for folks who were late.

This trip was very fun and our guide MaryAnn was great! I only speak English, but I'm pretty sure this lady spoke like 10 different languages! She was very organized and informative of all locations. It was a great way to spend a few hours in Bruges and not have to worry about being tired and having to drive back to Amsterdam. The only complaint I had was the lunch. It was recommended to us by the guide, but we thought the food was pretty poor. When looking it up it was a 2/5 rating on tripadvisor, so I feel like they just partner with the restaurant. I would highly recommend the tour, but would recommend checking out a different place for lunch.

The tour was great, the Medieval town amazing. What is annoying is the manner of the restaurant staff, terrible or no service.

We traveled on a double decker bus to Bruges. It took a little over 3 hours to get there but our guide, Alex, filled us in on some interesting facts about the areas while traveling which helped the time pass faster. Bruges is a charming, romantic little town even in the rain. Alex led us around the town for about an hour to introduce the areas to us. We had another 4 hours on our own to explore and eat. The chocolates were wonderful so dont miss trying them!

Possibly the highlight of our Rhine river cruise. Transport via coach from Amsterdam with Tours and Tickets was very comfortable and included toilet facilities. Departure was prompt and our guide, Alex, was truly amazing and knowledgeable, translating in English and Spanish. Bruges is a delightfully quaint town, filled with beautiful and historic sights. I never took so many pictures in one place before. It is easily navigated and the map provided listed most of the attractions. Alex made up for the rest. I would highly recommend this excursion.

This was a great trip. Perfect amount of time for exploring the city, eating, and a little shopping. This is a great trip if you're jet-lagged since the bus trip is a few hours and you can sleep on the way there and back. Bruges is beautiful and well-worth the trip.

What a beautiful city! Shouldn't be missed! Tour guides were great answering questions and helping you find the things you wanted to see. Started off with a guided stroll through the area noting important landmarks, then plenty of time to shop, eat and explore on your own.

the place is beautiful but the tour guide is not really concern of our safety we have to fight for our seat in the bus people are arguing about the seat some families has to set away from each other the tour guide is so not organised he is not concern if other traveler is still in the group he just walk and talk about the place but not concern if the people in the tour is still with him alex the tour guide don't really care our satisfaction.

Great trip. Easy to find the location in Amsterdam where you begin your journey and you are dropped off near by starting point on the return. Long day but well worth it. Was great to have plenty of free time to visit by ourselves. Beautiful city. Highly recommend.

A great way to spend the day. Our guide Pieter gave us lots of good information on the 3 hour drive from Amsterdam to Bruges, not just on Bruges but also the countryside. The town is a little gem. They had the Christmas fair open which was fun. Unfortunately, the big church is undergoing restorations so it isn't as grand as it normally is. But Madonna and Child still on display, and lots of other fun things available in town. Only con on an otherwise great day was it was too short. Operator might think about leaving earlier.

Spent a very long time in backed up traffic both to and from Amsterdam. Who doesn't love a prolonged bus ride while enjoying miles of road construction? Of course heavy traffic isn't the fault of the company but we came to learn that the bus travel delays were fairly common and not well represented in the offering. Had we known, we may have made a different choice.

I enjoyed my trip to Bruges except the bus is tight. Very little room between seats, im not a tall person 52. My knees hit the seat in front of me. When the person in front put their seat back it was even tighter. Also no heat on the bus especially on the way back to Amsterdam. Very cold.

Bruges is absolutely a gorgeous city. Definitely worth a visit. There just wasnt enough time there. The other reason I gave it a 4 was because our tour group left the meeting area 10 minutes early. My friends and I were early, and were in line to use the restroom. By the time we got out, our tour had left to the buses, which was about a 5 minute walk, but had my friend not seen them walking down the street, we wouldve missed our group.

This trip for the hours spent getting there was not worth the time or money. From the start when we visited the office to exchange our vouchers for tickets it was a shambles. The guide I am sure did not know what she was doing. We had to walk back to the train station through to the bus terminal to board the coach. This took some time to get some 30 people through the main street._br/_ The traffic was quite busy, being holiday time so I can understand we were running behind schedule. One passenger used the on board bus toilet and the driver advised that the pump was not working so we made an unscheduled stop along the way at a service station that I am sure the bus company did not use before because the owner came out and said there was only one toilet._br/_ I have no idea why he stopped because it took time out of our travel and also his 4 hour driving compulsory to stop for a half hour break half an hour down the road. When we stopped at 1:30pm and where we stopped there was nowhere to find a toilet or buy lunch or get a drink._br/_ There was no sanitation onboard the bus or bottled water to hand out or buy._br/_ My husband and I sat in the first seats in the front and observed the driver and guide talking to each other in either German or Dutch sometimes the driver taking his eyes off the road._br/_ When we returned to the bus after our stop at 1:30pm we had to be back by 2:00pm. We arrived at Burges at 2:30pm and were told to take everything off the bus as the bus would not be back until 7:00pm. Because we were late arriving to Burges we were given extra time to explore._br/_ Whilst on our guided tour I found the guide went through the history and walk very quickly and it was hard to keep up with her if you wanted to take photos. _br/_ I think the tour finished 15 minutes before the end._br/_ In all, by the time we returned to Amsterdam the trip took 11 hours just to the Bus terminal.

I know that the tour company cannot control the weather, but the weather ruined the entire Bruges experience for my wife and I. The Netherlands and Belgium at this time of year are notorious for on again off again rain, but the day we went to Bruges, it poured the entire day. It really ruined the day. We did get to see some interesting things there, but most of the day was spent dodging the pouring rain.

Bruges is lovely. We went with a tour which was very good.........it is a lot of walking but it was worth it. My son went to the top of the bell tower - again - if you have issues with walking a lot or climbing, I would recommend not doing that - but the town is very beautiful - we enjoyed sitting in the square and watching people, listening to the music and visiting the shops.

Review by:   Chris P,    October 2017 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
So let me start by saying that I'm not giving Bruges itself a 1 star rating. In fact Bruges itself is a good place and well worth a visit, and that visit can easily be longer than a day. This 1 star review is all about the bus.

Bruges was beautiful!!! Definitely worth the 3-hr 1-way bus ride from Amsterdam. Surprisingly there wasn't sufficient time to climb the cathedral nor enter any of the gorgeous buildings in the squares to learn a little more about it. The 1-hr tour with the guide to walk in which was a good intro btw, lunch and light souvenir shopping browsing took up the entire 5-hour block time allocated there ie Allocate more time when you're there. Another tip: Take photos as you're walking it. There may not be sufficient time to go back to your favourite spots as almost every corner was pretty. Enjoy! Super punctual too which was great thumbsup

We have taken Viator tours in many countries, and this is the worst one by far. The tour guide, Adrian did not speak clearly. He did not have his speaker device for the guided tour making this part of the trip essentially worthless. We take these guided tours so we can learn about the local area. Adrian provided very little information, and seemed to only respond when someone had a question. Since we couldn't hear what he was saying we gave up on the guided tour. When we got to the church to see the Michangelo statue we found we had to pay. It was a small sum, but we were never told about it and whether it was included in our tour cost. Bruges was a nice city to visit, but the tour guide could have been much better.

You must do this. Bruges is a really beautiful place. Plenty of time to wander the streets and shop an definately try the Waffles. So glad we spent the day in Bruges. Was a highlight of our holiday.

Bruges is no doubt a beautiful and historic city and we are so pleased to have viewed it, if only for a few hours. Unfortunately, the town was overly full the day we were there and very hard to move about. Tour had forgotten the devices to hear with, so couldn't hear information, tried to follow guide but he became lost in crowds. Did our own thing for a couple of hours, but due to busyness of the day , headed back to bus meeting point. Felt that double decker bus was too big for our taste, too many people for a precious part of small village. Really was just a bus ride, not a tour. Have had better Viator experience.

Although the weather was horrible the guide that we had that day was quite good. Our complaints would be that there were too many people for one guide 57 and that made it difficult staying close enough to him to be able to see what he was pointing at or sometimes even to hear him. It was complicated by the fact that the streets were very crowded that day. The other complaint would be that it was nearly dark by the time we got to The Hague so it was hard to get pictures. By the time we got to Madurodam it was cold and dark. We have been on other Viator trips that were much better.

Despite the long bus ride, Bruges did not disappoint. It was a beautiful sunny day and our guide was quite good at keeping us organized. Well worth a day trip. It made me want to come back for a much longer visit. Make sure you take the canal cruise while there and eat a Belgian waffle and some chocolates, too.
