Chat tours, has this down to a science. I was apprehensive about doing a three-day bus tour imagining crowded conditions and long waits. On the contrary, the orchestration of participants being picked up and managed through the tour some did longer some shorter so there were quite a few logistics to manage was excellent. Our guide, Katerina Ppmchiki was extraordinary. We were on a small bus with a great driver. Just as I started to get restless being on a bus, they would stop for a quick break or yet another site to see. The timing of the rides versus the tours was outstanding. There were a couple of opportunities to jump in the water and I regretted not having a bathing suit handy. I would have liked to see more of Nafplion, but it just means I have to go back. What an amazing little city that those outside of Greece are unlikely to know about. The Classical sites speak for themselves, however, this was a fantastic way to see them.

We took this tour in April and really enjoyed it. Our guide, Stofos, was very knowledgeable and we were glad we got him. We seen a lot of sites and with his interpretation of ancient Greece the sites came alive. The tour pickup, hotel, food, everything was very professional and no hiccups. The bus was very comfortable and stopped for breaks._br/_ We normally don't take tours when we go on vacation because we like to have our own pace. I must admit for this tour if you weigh the knowledge of Stofos and what you are looking at I would choose this again. We seen a lot of people on their own and we knew they didn't know what they were looking at. When Stofos was taking about something we saw other people trying to get close to hear what he was saying...ha. Granted you don't get to see everything at the sites but you get most of it. The trip is very well planned out so you get to see a lot in just a couple of days. Totally recommend if you are interested in ancient Greece outside of Athens.

This was a high-value tour for an introduction to Ancient Greece and its mythology. Our travel guide was really knowledgable, accommodating of everyone and the rest of the CHAT Tours staff were also good to us. We stayed in very comfortable hotels, ate delicious Greek food and were given enough time to explore on our own. This sort of tour would be enjoyable for all ages - from student to senior citizens.

Firstly I'm not a fan of bus tours. I went on this tour as it seemed the easiest way to see a number of sites. I'm pleased to say I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The tour guide was very informative, friendly and funny. I loved the ancient sites such a Delphi and Olympia and thought there was adequate time allowed at each site to do the guided tour and explore individually.

A GREAT WAY OF SEEING ALL THE CLASSIC SITES WITH GOOD TOUR GUIDES, CLEAN and MODERN ACCOMMODATION AND PLENTY OF LOCAL FOOD. AN INFORMATIVE MEMORIAL TRIP OF GOOD VALUE. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE STURDY WALKING SHOES AS SOME OF THE TRACKS ARE ROUGH BUT THAT'S PART OF THE EXPERIENCE!

My husband and I really enjoyed this tour and it was mainly due to the guide we had. Joy was a gem and I think one of the best local guides we have been fortunate to ever have. She is extremely knowledgeable, and she shares this information with you in a very sensitive manner. She was able to give us a story as we went along in an articulate manner. She shared but did not lecture. Lots of fun and I only wish we had her longer!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this three day excursion. Our tour guide, Stathis, was extremely knowledgeable in Greek history and mythology, and linguistics. The hotels we stayed in were very nice and there was plenty to eat for breakfast and dinner. Lunch was separate but we had plenty of time to stop and eat at the local restaurants. We also made plenty of rest stops for potty breaks and souvenier shopping. We had a very good bus driver too. Take an umbrella in November!

Our tour guide Joy was amazing! She really knows how to tell you about Greek Mythology. No one was happy about the first hotel in Olympia though - the Amalia Olympia wifi connection horrible, the rooms aren't really 4star standard ... maybe 2stars.

As I am travelling alone and not driving, I would not have been able to see these amazing sites without joining a tour. Greece is quite tricky to travel in this area in this aspect. Dimitra, our guide, is excellent with historical and cultural information. I just wish I had more time at each site, but distances are far, and hence, it was important that we all kept to the schedule. One thing I would like to suggest is that we spend more time in Nafplion. It is such a lovely town, and yet, the hotel was 6 km away, and we were given very short time to enjoy it before being whisked away to the hotel. After that, we had 1.5 hours too long! in the hotel to 'freshen up' before dinner. To me, we could have spent more time in Nafplion before heading to the hotel, or we could have stayed in a hotel right in town so that we could explore it on our own.

This was a great tour. The pace was just right and our tour guide is just rich with knowledge. The driver was great as well. Also, the price for this tour in my opinion is a steal.

Review by:   tom m,    October 2017 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
The guide was good and the sites superb. We did not get enough time at most of the stops, we felt hurried. The first hotel had lousy food and was isolated away from town, requiring a cab ride. The second hotel was better, better food, better view and an easy walk to town.

Over six weeks travelling, I participated in 12 tours. This was FAR AND AWAY away the best. From the timetable which was jam-packed, but not too rushed, to the excellent transport a Mercedes bus in pristine condition with a great driver, terrific rest stops the one near RioAntirrio bridge was outstanding, to the buffet-style food at the Amalia Hotels which was excellent, but I cannot recommend more highly our guide Stathos? he weaved historical information with the mythology and made the drive between sitesas well as at each locationinteresting, informative and funny. Wonderful.

comprehensive and informative. Hotels were more than adequate. Meals buffet style, but plenty to eat. Busses were comfortable and the driver was excellent. Tour guide was considerate of everyone and kept us on time and informed of the days plan and activities. A well run professional tour. Plenty of time at each site. A most enjoyable 3 day tour

This tour is amazing! I felt like I saw the best of the best on this trip. It was a combination of seeing amazing places, stopping for comfort stretches and relaxing on the bus and in the hotels. There are shops at the hotel stops and great people to meet on the trip. Effie was great! She was a wealth of knowledge! I took tons of pictures and left completely satisfied with this amazing Greek tour! Next trip will be to enjoy the beaches and islands, as this is very much a mainland tour with MANY, MANY incredible historical sites to visit and learn about. If you love history, you will love this trip!

Review by:   dug,    August 2017 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
The tour on day 1 was different and not as advertised. We did not have a walk in Mauplia, spent a total of 10 minutes in Epidaurus, did not go to Sanctuary of Askleption. The CHATours said they are following their own schedule and are not responsible for the viator site. The viator did nothing to help. We feel that we missed out to see the wonderful UNESCO sites and were cheated. As a side comment, in Athens there are so many other tour companies, we should have bough a different tour in Athens.

This was an amazing historical adventure! The way that it was laid out was great and the time at the ruins was perfect. The hotels, Amalias, were modern and comfortable. Kudos to our guide, Costas. He was so knowledgable about all the places we visited and more. He was the real treasure!! The only criticism about the trip was that lunch, which was not included in the price, was not free choice. The bus stopped at one restaurant each day for lunch.

This tour is great in the sense that you get to see a lot in a short amount of time. I think the value is good as it includes coach transfers, a guide, and breakfast and dinners. We did the 4 star and the Amalia hotels are very nice my negative about the Amalia's are that we love to swim and the pools all closed at 8pm and so we missed the pool because we arrived at the hotel late.

We loved our tour guide Helen, or Elen was her name, she was amazing._br/_ The only thing that I can think of that I didn't love was Day 2, there wasn't much to see, comparing it to Day 1 where it was nonstop locations and things to see. Other than that, loved the tour guide, and driver, loved the hotels and overall had a memorable time._br/_ Thanks!

The tour covered all we wanted to see with very knowledgeable expert guide. We only had 15 people which was a comfortable group. The hotels and rooms were quite nice. Only 2 things to bring to your attention. The food on the most part was institutional served buffet style. I would prefer to choose the restaurant. The guide was very knowledgeable and attempted to teach us Greek history. But the amount of info was overload. I had brain freeze and just wanted to move on. I found myself wandering. With those downsides I still think it is good value.

We are very happy with the tour we booked. Very organized and the hotels we stayed during the 3 days are all nice. The most important part of the tour is that the tour guiderStathysis, I hope I spelled his name right is very knowledgeable and has a passion for the Greek history. My children learned a lot from this tour. I would recommend this tour to my friends.

My fiancee and I spent 10 days in Greece and we both agreed that this tour was our favorite thing we did. I loved all the sites but Delphi had especially breath-taking views. Our guide, Stethis I don't know if that's how it's spelled was amazing. Informative, enthusiastic, and funny, he really made the trip more than worth it. The hotels and food weren't anything special but they weren't horrible either. We have friends who are going to Greece for their honeymoon and we are highly suggesting going on this tour.

A wonderful tour. A brilliant way to see some sites which would be harder to reach. Our guide Leila was fantastic and really brought the archaeology and artefacts alive for us. She was a mine of information, but kept it from becoming too much to take in with her wonderful sense of humour and bouzouki music. The tour had interesting stop offs on the way and the main sites were really well chosen. It was wonderful to spend some time in Delphi. My only quibble would be with the 4 star Amalia hotels we were in. Neither provided the ability to make hot drinks, they all had to be purchased separately. The hotel in Delphi was dusty, our room had a dirty carpet, the air conditioner was broken and the food was not very fresh. So I would advise you to go 3 star and not to pay extra for 4 star. I can't recommend this tour enough.

We were very happy with all the hotels and facilities. Our guide was a trained archeologist with excellent knowledge of the sites and wonderful people skills. We saw everything we could expect to see and couldn't be happier with our trip and look forward to going back to explore these areas in more detail.

The Classical Greece tour was amazing. Despite the fact that we were trying to see Olympia on Easter Sunday and it was closed, our guide Stanthos was able to take us along a perimeter road to see the stadium from above. His information and obvious love of his subject matter made the Greek gods and the Olympians come alive. _br/_ Our visit to the temples of Venus and Apollo, and hearing the story of Python and Apollo were once-in-a-lifetime adventures. The climb to the stadium and the theater were unforgettable._br/_ Our driver was George, and he did a fabulous job of getting us through the narrowest ancient streets._br/_ On our return trip to Athens as our tour concluded, we swapped tour guides, and Evie finished the tour. She was also very knowledgeable, and gave us wonderful information about the Grecian economy, the auto industry and other modern day matters._br/_ We have had great luck with every Viator tour we've taken in several countries, and recommend Viator enthusiastically.

Everything was well organized. The pick up was prompt. There were no safety concerns. Language was not a problem. The breakast and dinner buffet included with the hotel deal made this remarkable. The hotel was clean and friendly. The tour was overall very educational and I got a lot of exercise. It was great to visit history live in person. It is amazing how the greek technology existed several centuries ago. The guide was great. They dropped me off at my other hotel on completion of my tour. It was a perfect tour

Our tour guide, Joy added in Greek history and mythology to every location and site that we visited. Starting with vivid tales on the Olympian Gods to arrival of the Romans to the achievements of the Greeks in modern and historic times, the tour was very informative. A must go for anyone interested in architecture, history, mythology and likes listening to stories in general. The tour as such was very comfortable paced on smooth roads with plenty of breaks for refreshment and snacks. Overall an amazing experience!

Complete, detailed, surprisingly fitting both for old American couples and for Classics students. The guide, Joy, is one of the best human beings I've ever met. If it hadn't been for her who let me and my friend spend extra time in the museums while the others went for lunch, though, the time for visits might have lacked. We were constantly in a hurry: but I guess that's the only way to visit half a State in three days!

This was an outstanding tour! Dimitra, our guide, was excellent and Anotonis, our driver, navigated the sharp turns and hills expertly. The itinerary for the trip was excellent. We had plenty of time at each of the main sites visited For example, we had about 4.5 hours at Delphi and saw all the sites and museum as compared to the more limited time the folks on the day tour from Athens had.. The time at each site was divided between a narrated tour of the site and museum with Dimitra and free time on our own to wander. The tour was a manageable and enjoyable 20 people from the US, Canada, Australia, and France. Most of the folks were on the 4-day tour including Meteora which is spectacular but we had seen previously. The bus was comfortable and well air-conditioned and the hotels/buffet breakfasts and dinners were adequate. I would highly recommend this tour or the 4-day tour in order to see some of the key ancient archeological sites in Greece.

My friends have never done a coach tour before and the 5 of us had a great time. It was so convenient having someone else drive, handle the luggage and of course tell us in depth information about the sites that we saw. Miltizi was very engaging. The only thing that was a little inconvenient was that lunch was not included, which we knew and were fine with, but the bus only stopped at one restaurant for lunch and there were no other options to go to. Since, there were no other lunch options, then it should have been included in the price and I could have had it paid off before we left

She did a good job of providing excellent information as well as stories to go along with the information. We spent a lot of time on the bus but our tour guide did a good job of helping the time go by. The breakfasts and dinners at the hotels were pretty good although the rooms themselves were average. If you are looking to learn a great deal about Greek history at a reasonable price, this tour is for you.

The tour was fantastic, I wasn't particularly blown away by the food options as some of the meals seemed to be tourist traps the tour guide we had, Joy, was incredible. I've not been on a tour with someone that knew so much information about basically everything. I would recommend the tour to folks that want the piece of mind that they're getting the best bang for their buck. This was worth the money and some of the views are just breathtakingly beautiful.

I had a wonderful time on this tour! We saw a lot of the beautiful Peloponnese region and heard myths that brought the different sites to life. We even had the chance to see a Greek wedding and do an olive oil tasting! I wish we had had more time at a few of the sites but it was a great tour overall

This Classical Greece Tour was easily one of the best tours I have ever been on in my entire traveling career. I recommend it to anyone with an interest in authentic Greek culture and history. Everything went smoothly: bussing, dining, hotels, sightseeing, etc. However, it was our tour guide, Joy, who made this tour completely exceptional. She is friendly, approachable, responsible-- everything a tour guide must be. Not only is she highly knowledgeable, but she is so passionate about everything she does. She seemed to know every aspect and every little detail about each place we visited. She recalled the historical backgrounds of our points of interest as if she were telling an epic story. It was this way of conveying information that made the entire trip-- the history, culture, people, myths-- come to life. Her engaging way of conveying information made every person grasp onto every word she said, completely enticed by her knowledge. Even my sixteen year old daughter, who is often bored and disengaged during such history-based trips, was eager to hear more about even the most tedious details. She remarks that she learned more on this three day tour than she has from years of history class. Joy was able to take a beautiful country and put it into context for everyone on the tour.

The tour was well organized, informative and a delight. Our guide was excellent, with a breath of knowledge that helped us to experience and learn about many eras of Greek history and culture, and a sense of humor as well. He struck a good balance between information and drawing an expressive picture of life at the sights we visited. The bus, bus driver and accommodations were excellent, while the food ranged for good to poor for one meal. The tour range on time and all staff were extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this tour and tour operator.
