Bali Reef Cruise and Lembongan Island Day Trip

Escape Bali for a day and spend it on the turquoise waters of Nusa Lembongan, a small, low, protected island about 7 miles (11 km) southeast of Bali, just across the Badung Strait. After arriving by comfortable, air-conditioned catamaran, you’ll anchor at a private pontoon where you can enjoy a variety of water activities, including a waterslide, banana boat rides and snorkeling. You can even take a small boat to the island for a tour, if you wish. This family-friendly tour includes snacks, a buffet lunch and hotel transport.
After hotel pickup by air-conditioned vehicle, your day on the water begins with a 1-hour catamaran cruise on the Bali Hai II from Bali to Nusa Lembongan (Lembongan Island), a small isle off Bali’s southeastern coast. During the cruise from the Benoa harbor, enjoy coffee, tea and pastries on board and watch a snorkeling demonstration, if you or a family member are a beginner.
When you arrive at Lembongan Bay, the catamaran pulls up next to a large, purpose-built reef pontoon, your base for the day. All activities you choose to participate in take place on or depart from this pontoon. Locker use is included for your valuables.
Included activities: See the bay’s exotic marine life and colorful coral from the comfort of a semi-submersible coral viewer, or try snorkeling for a closer look. Enjoy unlimited banana boat rides, a 115-foot (35-meter) waterslide and a diving board. Or, just relax in the sun and enjoy the beauty of the bay. If you don’t want to go in the water, you can still see what lies beneath via the pontoon’s underwater viewing chamber.
The buffet lunch is open on the air-conditioned deck for about 2.5 hours; when it closes, coffee and tea continue to be available for another hour. Starting just before midday, the first of three 1-hour tours to the island depart from the pontoon — if you’re interested in wandering the narrow, colorful streets of Nusa Lembongan, just hop on the boat and go. Explore on foot, admiring the island’s white-sand beaches, cliffs, Balinese architecture and views of Mt Agung.
When your time in the water comes to an end, rinse off if you wish with a fresh-water shower on the pontoon. Then, after a head count to make sure everyone is on board, make your back to Bali on the catamaran, listening to live music during the 1-hour cruise. Your tour ends with drop-off at your Bali hotel.
Optional activities at your own expense: Scuba diving, massages, parasailing (single, tandem and trio flying is available) and the Aquanauts submerged marine walk are all available on the pontoon for an additional cost. Towel rental is also available if you don’t have or forget to bring your own. Purchase cocktails and other adult beverages from one of the two fully licensed bars.

We really enjoyed this trip! The pontoon made everything very accessible and we had an excellent time. We loved the small tour of Lembongan and the tour length was just about right. We were even able to extend our stay and go to the beach club for an extra hour. This is offered on a first come first basis but was an excellent free addition to our trip. I had debated between the beach club and the pontoon, but I was glad we could do both! Bali Hai cruises was a wonderful experience.

The reef cruise was disappointing. The vessel went in a small circle and we saw very little fish. Much more fish and the people being trained in scuba could be seen from the pontoon's own underwater viewing area._br/_ I was 'chicken' and never tried the huge slide into the sea, but it looked like fun. I never saw anyone repeat the experience though._br/_ A lot to do if you wanted to keep busy. A fun day.

we paid $175 Aus each to see some dead white coral 20 metres below the surface. If you like thrills, don and #39;t go on the banana boat. The blow up banana boat took us on a leasurley 5km/h circle route around the boat. The walking tour was a tour of the local mini mart.. cost way too much for what it is

This was a good trip but not a great one. When we arrived at the port there was a notice saying that the submersible coral viewer wouldn't be available as it was being repaired. After a comfortable trip to the pontoon I went over to book a parasail only to be told that there would be no parasailing that day, no explanation was given as to why. This was disappointing, as this was one of the extra activities that I was really keen on. The snorkelling was quite nice but there was a fair bit of sea lice in the water making it a little uncomfortable. I tried the waterslide and banana boat ride but there also appeared to be quite a bit of waiting around on the pontoon. I enjoyed the Island tour but a couple of others with me thought it was a little lame. Lunch at the resort was ok but they also ran out of food and there was quite a wait while more food was cooked. After lunch we were dropped back at the pontoon and it appeared that parasailing would be available. I rushed over to purchase a ticket and was able to go. The disappointing part was that the photographer didn't make my boat and I missed out on having a photographic memory of this amazing experience. The trip back to port was a little rough with a few passengers suffering from sea sickness this was absolutely no fault of the tour operators but think needs to be mentioned for others who get seasick. So overall I did enjoy this tour but I think it was a little overpriced compared with other Bali tours.

This tour was well organised and I did the dive as the aquanauts were not available that day. _br/_ I had never dived prior to this so it was an amazing experience as the dive instructors were reassuring and guided me throughout my dive to make sure I was comfortable.

We didn't get a message at our hotel about the pick-up for the trip in the morning. I'd expected a note under our door when we got back from dinner. It was out of hours in Bali so I Skype called Viator in in the US. They emailed to service provider, who called our hotel early in the morning and sent a driver to pick us up. problem solved. From there everything else about this tour was fantastic. The Bali Hai staff are professional, friendly and they really work on making your experience the best it can be._br/_ When we boarded there was delicious pastries and coffee or tea awaiting us in the dining room. _br/_ We went out onto the sun deck for the trip to the Lembongan Island trip. We were there in around 45 minutes and docked to a large pontoon complete with water-slide on it. There are:_br/_ ul li change rooms _br/_ lilockers_br/_ litowels for hire_br/_ liBanana sled rides behind a smaller boat_br/_ li safe swimming areas and snorkelling equipment to use_br/_ /ul_br/_ I saw all the masks, wetsuits and snorkels being soaked in cleaning solution for reuse, I suspect it would something like baby bottle sterilising solution._br/_ The ticket includes pretty much all activities except scuba diving lessons and the Aquanaut reef walk._br/_ Lunch was a buffet style with a selection of delicious salads and smoked fish or choices of different curries and rice._br/_ I did the Aquanaut reef walk. I'm over sixty, but up for new adventures. It's one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. I cannot do snorkelling or Scuba diving, I have trouble with the mouthpieces, so this was perfect for me. There are so many fish there and they swim right up to you, there's a beautiful coral garden down there. They have a professional photographer who captures all the fun so you can just relax and enjoy the whole experience.

Besides the sea sickness this was a very fun day! We did the aquanauts sea floor walk and the tour of the island. Seas are a bit choppy and I wasn and #39;t wearing my sea legs that day. Many people got sea sick so be careful when booking! Other than that it was great :)

The snorkeling visibility was not great and there was some trash floating around in the snorkeling area._br/_ The banana boat was a timid ride. I think the boat was not powerful enough to pull the banana boat....we hardly moved. We saw absolutely nothing from the coral viewer but a few fish, not worth the time. The lunch was great and the staff were friendly and the day was very well organised, but the activities were unfortunately not a highlight of our trip.

This was a really awesome day. The local tour operator is very professional. I was picked up from my hotel in Denpassar._br/_ I enjoyed the activities on the pontoon and would recommend this to families with children/ teenagers or people who love water sports. It was a great day on the water._br/_ The meals were good and the additional excursions were reasonably priced and well managed.

The day we went some of the attractions weren't on offer, and the snorkelling was very limited as it was really just around the pontoon as that's where they feed the fish. The original boat was broken do we had a slower boat, no lunch on board, but actually the on shore venue they took us was nicer than being on the pontoon so we decided to stay there and no one at all on out trip went back to the pontoon for the afternoon, just stayed at a nearby resort. It was a bit f a disappointment to be honest. But crew nice and friendly and good was very good.

Had a great day. Got a transfer direct from our hotel to the boat. The band on board we're great and really set the mood. When we arrived we went snorkeling which was free and although the water is quite deep you can still see a lot of fish. Not to be missed.

It was ok, pity about the extras ie the underwater walk that was very expensive for what you get. We enjoyed the slide and the snorkelling. It was unfortunate that we could not go on the Island as this is what we were expecting._br/_
The glass bottom boat was broken and we were looking forward to going on it. Could have spent the same amount of money on something else._br/_
Photos were also expensive $10. Hmmmm ? A bit of a con.

The day was well organised and value for money. The pontoon activities kept our boys (15, 12 and 12) very busy all day. Lots of banana boat rides, snorkelling, water sliding and water activities. We did the Aquanauts under water experience and it was a highlight of our trip. Next time we would like to do the scuba diving. Lunch was much better than expected. We initially thought the tour was going to be very crowded however most of the passengers were on another tour and were not on the pontoon - phew! The only negative was the island tour, hot, dusty and not much to see. One suggesting would be to extend the tour to allow some surfing - the low level waves looked great fun. Thanks for a great tour we will be taking another tour when we next come back to Bali.

This was the worse tour we had in Bali. The 45 min boat trip from harbour to Island was incredibly rough with many people vomiting including my husband and daughter. Then you're stuck on pontoon all day which continues to rock, so no relief for the seasick. Then there was nothing to do. Unlimited banana boat rides are boring, simply go out in a straight line and back again, no spin outs and trying to tip people off, once ridden a couple of times you're done. Waterslide drop is way too big, everyone had one go and didn't go back. Underwater boat, saw a few fish, but little excitement when you're stuck there all day long. Scuba and parasailing costs extra. Parasailing was the only fantastic thing but I could have done that on mainland without expense of going to Lembongan Island. Island tour is basically a walk through the streets where you are taken to Sarong shop and a lot of pressure to buy, nothing else to see really. Buffet was absolutely disgusting, flies all over the salad and salads smothered in creamy sauces, hot food was all Asian or curries, no western food. Bread rolls were either frozen and thawed or day old and dessert tray had desserts that I did not recognise and very small squares which were all crushed and stuck together. My daughter went hungry, my husband didn't eat because he was seasick all day, and I didn't eat because there was no Western food and curry stunk the boat out. Oh and pontoon is not that big and smokers seem to be everywhere, there was no escaping the cigarette smoke, it was intoxicating. Also the diesel fumes of all the little boats around the pontoon which take out the parasailers, banana rides and island tour are also overpowering. Workers were also filling empty gallons with diesel, it was horrible.I told as many people as I could at my resort not to do the trip. Brochure makes it sound fantastic, but it was a waste of a day and a waste of money. So disappointing coz everything else we did in Bali was fabulous.

It was an awesome full board package on the Cruise! We did unlimted banana boat rides, snorkelling, semi-submarine ride, water slide, diving board n para sailing (which we topped up for a very reasonable fee of about US$20 i think) - soooo many ways to end up in the sea!! And to top it all off, ALL the staff were amazingly warm and hospitable! Never been so well attended to and well-entertained before.. From the deck hands, service crew, the band and even the lifeguard, their cheerful disposition was infectious from the moment we embarked. For example, the entertaining live-band really catered to the international guests on board. They invited guests from different nationalities to share the stage and even belted out a really popular Japanese love song that got all the Japs on board singing along to the hit. And at the end of the cruise, they hi-fived all the guests as we all dis-embarked. Simply an amazing trip from the start to the very end. Probably a great company to work for too :P
