Banff National Park offers jaw-dropping views of the mountains virtually unlike anywhere else in North America. Turquoise lakes, old-growth pines and towering granite peaks surround a green valley filled with wildlife all kinds, including deer, eagles, and coyote. With so much to see and do, visiting the entirety of the park is all but impossible. Still, few places in Alberta offer the postcard beauty of Lake Minnewanka.
Your 60-minute cruise on the lake starts at the dock just a short 10-minute drive from the town of Banff. During the busiest part of the summer, boats depart every thirty minutes. During off-peak hours, boats depart every hour during the day. Once you've boarded the boat, you will immediately be treated to beautiful views of the mountains and clear sights of the brightly hued lake.
Once you leave the dock, your guide will fill you in on the stories of the submerged town of Minnewanka landing and the native people who used to call the surrounding area their home. As you move deeper into the mountains, scan the skies for bald eagles hunting for fish or for black bear known to forage along the lake shore. Eventually, you will come to Devil's Gap, where you will pause for photos as you absorb the awesome scenery.
After taking a moment to immerse yourself in the incredible view, the boat will circle around and return to shore where you will exit back at the dock.
