Whitewater rafting is the ultimate summer outdoor activity and the Kicking Horse River is the best river in the Canadian Rockies! Please note: This trip is catered to participants 12 years and up.
Start your trip by enjoying a scenic drive from Canmore, Banff or Lake Louise through Yoho National Park. Upon arrival at the put in site, you'll meet your river guides and be provided with all the necessary rafting gear.
Once on the water, this unforgettable journey begins calmly and quietly, allowing rafters to familiarize themselves with the raft, their paddles and their guides' commands. As the Canyon narrows, the rapids of the mighty Kicking Horse begin a whitewater experience that will take each team of rafters paddling through up to class 4+ rapids, finishing 12 miles (20km) downstream!
I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure. Water was lower this time of year so the rapids were a bit less intimidating. Kyle was an awesome guide. We always felt comfortable with him. He always talked and kept the boat lively. This was my first time and I will definitely start this as a new obsession. Beautiful, spectacular scenery and great, efficient company to work with. I would suggest driving to Hydra if you have a rental car. The transportation option can be a bit slower with more stops. You are so tired at the end of the day you just want to get back to your hotel. Organized, awesome, friendly company.

The rafting itself was excellent and a lot of attention paid to safety. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. However after the rafting had finished we over 2 hours of travelling back still cold with wet hair in a bus without any sort of heating. We were freezing!!_br/_ I would request that the organisers fix the heating in their bus and to advise everyone to take lots of warm clothes to wear afterwards.

An absolutely fantastic trip. Our guide Anthea was so funny, she had us in stitches. I was a bit concerned because Anthea is tiny but WOW, she could make that raft do everything she wanted it to! The lunch was great cheese burger and potato salad. The safety induction was very professional and the whole trip was one of the highlights of our Trans Canada holiday. There are a lot of rafting companies in the area but you really should give Hydra a go - they are terrific!

OMG highlight of our holiday for sure. This was our first time ever rafting and it was so amazing. Rob our guide was fantastic and so much fun. This was the best decision of our vacation in Banff! The tour guide, Dave, was very experienced and very nice. He made sure that we all felt safe, but had a great time. The rapids were exciting but it always felt like he had everything under control. The facilities were very nice - there were changing rooms to get in and out of your swimsuit and wet suit. We were worried about being cold, but they provide you with all the gear and cover-ups you need so you are actually very comfortable and even welcomed the cold splash of glacier water in your face! Highly recommend this trip as a great way to see beautiful sights and experience some thrills!

Excellent day even though it was raining and cold so we got wet from above as well as from the river. Be prepared to put effort in usually required at the hardest spots of the river. Good safety instructions. BBQ lunch was burger or vegetable burger with salad, coleslaw etc. Absolutely fine for this sort of activity. The bus drive from Banff to venue is over 90 minutes and the bus is a little old. Changing facilities are also very basic, annoyingly some ladies decided to get changed afterwards in the toilets, why do they have to do that!

We had a brilliant time, wish we could have done the add on time at the end but unfortunately had to get the bus back to Banff, next time we will make our own way there and do the extra time. _br/_
Could have done with seeing the guide at the end of the trip so that we could tip him personally he did a great job.

Highlight of my holiday. This tour was so much fun. Everything was well organised and I always felt safe on the river. It starts of pretty calm to get everyone comfortable. The last leg of the ride is very exhilarating, with class 4 rapids. A must-do.
