Gale was our tour guide and what a lovely lady. She is very knowledgeable and patient and has a sense of humor! It is a bit of a ride out but this part of the wall is a MUST. Not very crowded, the gondola ride and the views were amazing. Gale told us where to take stand to take pictures for the best views. A very enjoyable day that she helped create.

I received a call from Jacky the night before to confirm pick up time, was requested to take a taxi to another hotel I used English app Didi Chuxing, Jacky reimbursed me later which I gladly obliged because the area I stayed is notorious for traffic jams. Jacky was my guide, in a small bus group of 10. Started with jade factory tour, then the Mutianyu Great Wall, and lastly tea house. Jacky was not pushy at the sales gallery. Jacky got the tickets for us at Mutianyu office, getting up by steps is too strenuous to reach the tower of Great Wall. Everyone heed Jackys advice, cable car up and down by the toboggan cant recall 120 or 140 yuan extra. Queued 15 mins each for cable car and toboggan. Time at the Wall approx 1 hr, which suffice given the heat/sun and steps. Our guide Jacky did not follow, but that was fine we roamed on our own._br/_ - Turn right, trail leads up the higher hill and more picturesque, extremely steep steps but has hand rail, moderate fitness needed, to and fro approx 30mins._br/_ - Turn left, easy and flat trail, this is a long trail but you can turn back any time_br/_ Jacky is fun, professional and courteous, his English is good by Chinese standard...he worked hard, and he deserved tips for the work well done._br/_ Driver was fine in the morning but moody at the evening due to bad traffic jam.

We thought we booked a private tour but it was our mistake. Jackie Lee was difficult to understand but loads os fun and ushered our group of 20 as a mother hen does. He paid great attention to our welfare and comfort during our tour on tomb sweeping holiday. Well worth it!

The tour included a trip to the jade museum and Chinese tea factory. The hike itself wasn’t straneuous, walk at your own pace. Alice our tour guide provided a lot of useful information about the wall and other notable historical sites. Enjoyed the tour.

Such a Great Day and Tour. Simply the best way to see the Great Wall. Take the Chair Lift Up, Walk the Wall, Ride the Toboggan down. Then a nice lunch then off to Silk Factory and Tea Garden. Tour guide was great she picked us up in our hotel lobby and we spent the day with her.

I was very disappointed that I spent a lot of money for this tour. The tour guide did not accompany us on the wall so we did not have any of the history and then we visited the jade and tea shops where we were pressured to buy things as if we did not pay for the tour already. I am not made of money and felt scammed. The lunch was good. I managed to do the wall with a great group of people but was very disappointed that I spent money to get no history on the wall instead of in the car on our way there.

Our tour got off to an interesting start with the bus breaking down before our pick up time. This was in no way foreseeable and we certainly do not hold it against the guide or driver. In fact, our guide was open and communicated what was happening. I only mention this because it may have influenced the rest of the day. The delay cost us about an hour of tour time and therefore our guide was in a rush to keep us on track. _br/_ We stopped at a jade factory on the way to the Great Wall. It was interesting to hear about how jade items are made and how to test its quality. However, once the information portion was complete, they encouraged us to look around the store. The staff at the factory did not leave us alone for a second. If we looked at something, they expected us to buy it. At one point my wife tried to shake off the staff shadow, only to have the staff member run after her and continue to apply pressure. _br/_ Next, we drove to the Great Wall. Our guide explained clearly how things worked there purchasing tickets, where the restaurant was, etc. She explained the price of the cable car ride up and the toboggan ride down. When we asked about just walking up the Great Wall, it did not seem to be a good option for her as it might not match with her timetable. When we arrived at the gate we were still a little unsure what we wanted to do and she seemed grumpy that we would not simply buy those tickets right away._br/_ To her credit, it was a good thing we did end up purchasing the tickets because we only had one hour on the wall itself. It was amazing, but too short of a time for us. The toboggan ride down was a blast! The kids loved it and so did we._br/_ Lunch was served at a local restaurant. The food was tasty drinks: water, cola, beer were a separate cost an not included in the price. There was no free beverage to drink even tea, which is usually customary other than what you paid for. After lunch, we were taken to a tea house where we enjoyed a tea sampling and then were encouraged to look around and buy some tea. There was much less pressure at this location. After the tea house we were dropped off at a location near our hotel. _br/_ Overall, this tour was merely adequate because it got us to the Great Wall. We knew the jade factory and teahouse were a part of this tour and expected that purchasing something was a part of it buy reading the reviews, but we were unprepared for the pressure we encountered at the jade factory. We would have enjoyed more time on the Wall and less time at the other stops. This was a sentiment expressed by many others on the tour as well. Our guide got us there and did not lose anyone. We presume that the initial troubles of the day threw her off and she was not at her best.

Jackie was such a great tour guide. We learned so much from the just the van ride over to the great wall. The Jade factory is very nice and we were able to pick up some very cool souvenirs for our family members back home. The tea ceremony was also a very unique and good experience.

The Great Wall tour was excellent. Our guide was great, a good combination of friendly and knowledgeable while still giving us space to explore. The trip to the jade factory was silly. The day would have been so much better without it. I wasn't at all looking forward to the tea shop stop, but it ended up being ok. Overall, the day was good and I would recommend.

Overall very disappointed with the tour. We were just dropped off at the wall not knowing where to go or what to do. The tour guide said We will see you guys in 30 min. The driver was speeding the whole time and even drove against the traffic a few times. We were scared and we told the tour guide to tell him to slow down but her response was this is how we drive in China. I would not recommend this tour to anybody wanting to see the great wall especially not with this company and driver.

We had a really wonderful guide in Cynthia who provided a lot of detailed information regarding history and culture. I had a great day at wall where we got to spend a lot of time at the wall itself. We had an excellent lunch in a restaurant at base. This day was rounded outwith a visit to a Tea house where we had opportunity to sample various types of tea. _br/_ Would definitely recommend this tour _br/_ thanks

Tour guider is excellent! She is very professional. Bus driver has very bad attitude. When we came back, he didn’t drop us to hotel, just drop us on street, a few blocks away from our hotel. His reason: drop us on street is much more convenient to him.

Place was amazing. Tour guide was knowledgeable but was super annoying and talked to much. Lunch was poor - bad choice of venue, food quality was bad I had food poising from there, dirty place. I live in China and being to other tours all over China and never had food as bad. No clarity on the tour stops - we stopped on a jade factory that was not advised on the tour. Overall - bad experience all around

The tour guide was generally okay, but I had to wait more than one hour for the hotel pickup. I was the last pickup for the group of 12 but was given the same time as everyone else. Even though the day tour was running late, we still made all the promotional stops at the Tea shop which delayed us getting back into Beijing. We had to take the subway back to the hotel instead of sitting in rush hour traffic.

The tour guide was aggressive and his English was very hard to understand! He only explained a few things about the sights and the rest was information about the jade factory and the tea house, 2 stops we made on the way to and from the Great Wall and 2 of the most expensive stores in whole China!

We did this tour with Cynthia and she was great. Very upbeat and cheerful. We enjoyed her insight and information. Unfortunately all the stops we made along the way along the way took away from our great wall experience. it was supposed to be a full day tour and we only had 1 hour to explore the wall - VERY DISAPPOINTING. I would give Cynthia 5 stars but overall experience was lacking.

I was rather disappointed that I only have 1hour to tour the Great wall upon arrival because the local tour guides wasted some time taking us to the Jade factory and on the way back for a Tea tasting session. I don't think the itinerary included this destinations. Lunch was average . All the dishes look alike. And I was oblige to tip the driver reluctantly after the guide told me to do so.After all this, the great wall wasn't that great anymore.

Our guide Gale was so nice, and told us some fascinating Chinese folk stories! The tour arrives at the wall in good time before the main crowds. Includes a good 2.5 hours to explore before lunch. A rest stop each way are shops but include interesting activities - learning about jade, Chinese teas.

A particularly good segment of the Wall to visit, which is why it is a little more crowded than ideal. The toboggan alternative descent was popular. The meal attached to this tour was unexpectedly good. The unadvertised side trip to the jade factory, a classic tourist trap, was the negative point to this tour - we would rather have spent the extra hour on the Wall.

Do not take this trip._br/_ A private transfer costs rmb800 (round trip- taxi takes you to the Great Wall and waits for you there). This trip is more expensive and makes you wake up super early to spend hours in useless shops. The ad says 8am start. This is a LIE! They picked us up at 630!

I traveled to Beijing with my Husband and 2 daughters, we wanted to visit the Mutianyu part of the Great Wall as we had seen the toboggan ride on YouTube, sadly on the day we visited it poured with rain, which meant the toboggan was closed, although disappointing, it did not ruin the day, as you cannot visit Beijing without visiting the Great Wall of China! It was an incredible site but be prepared to spend more time travelling and less time at this wonderful location, although the couple of hours we had were more than enough time for us at this wondrous site. We did visit a Jade factory and Tea House on route, although both visits were not necessary, it did help to break up the journey to and from the wall. Thank you to our Guide Michael who was also very informative and helpful on the day.

1 hour at the Great Wall. Then an artificial look at Chinese culture through faux jade shops, tea ceremonies and misinformation. Skip this tour.

Good fun, very efficient, and Kathy, our guide had an enormous depth of knowledge on all sorts of subjects. She was also very good at herding us sheep to get us to the wall on time. Early start, but very sensible to get in front of the crowds during Golden Week. Great value too. Biggest disappointment? The rain that meant that we did not have the chance to do the toboggan run...

Rushed tour, more emphasize in making you buy in the shop-stops, undisclosed charges in-site, and awful lunch experience. While in Beijing, we chose 3 tours with this company, and ALL were barely enjoyed. In the Great Wall tour they took the group to two shops: a Jade store before arriving to the wall, and to a Tea house store afterwards. Is not that we dislike such schemes were the tour provider mixes shopping in-between the main tour, but the problem is that they dedicate 1.5 hours to each shop-stop to calmly listen to their sales representatives and to stroll around the shops, while the tour in the site of the Great Wall is rushed. Additionally the tour guide charges 150RMB 20 USD aprox. per person in-site as fare to take the old funicular to the top of the wall even though the tour description said every attraction entrance fee was included you can refuse and climb the mountain steps to the top by yourself, which will take 1.5 hours from the 2 hours we were given in the site. Lunch is shared with the tour group and is not enough for 8 people. Such a sad experience.

Held up considerably finding other guests hotel. Once we reached the wall, we had an hour to explore and take photos (ridiculous!) after which we rushed to a jade factory (for a disappointing lunch) and a tea shop, both of which were a con to peddle goods. Don and #39;t waste your time, Get the bus.

The tour was very guide. Our tour guide was Alice who presented well, spoke very good English and was very helpful. We spent just over 2 hours at the wall, which I felt was enough time. You will have to pay 120RMB for the cablecar and toboggan on top of the cost of the tour. I walked up to watchtower 5 I think it was, turn right once you get off the cable car. Beware the steps are very high and steep in some places and it is harder to come down than up, but the views are spectacular._br/_ The visits to the Jade factory and the teashop were good but there is a really hard sell at both these venues which is why I only gave the tour 4 out of 5. Yes you can of course say no but prepare to be hassled a bit._br/_ On the whole a good experience to one of the most famous landmarks on this planet !

This tour of the wall is highly recommended. It had less people there than the Badaling section, and it has the toboggan ride down if you so choose. Our guide was Alice. She was fantastic. Her English was good and she popped in jokes here and there just to see if you were listening. She texted us with pick up times and called the hotel early with pick up times just to make sure we got the information. I saw this as a plus and not pushy---GREAT JOB COMMUNICATING! She was not there for the sale at the sales stops and I found this comforting because she did not push us to buy anything. If we didn't want to buy, we didn't. Nothing was said or shown to disapprove if walked out empty handed. We stopped at the jade market first. The market is niceand had a great selection, but everything was very expensive even with our supposed 30 discount. Don't believe this discount because it applies to nothing and can be purchased for cheaper if you haggle. Don't forget....most of these items can be purchased from Amazon.com for 1/10th the cost. Besides, if you just shop around at some of the non arranged areas, you can find better deals. I found a nice dragon at the Great Wall for a fraction of the price. Haggle and you get better prices. The Great Wall was a 2 hour visit only. You have to have money for the chair lift because it is not included in the price of the tour. IT IS VERY WORTH BUYING! You will not have enough time to walk up and back otherwise. You have the option of taking the toboggan down or the chair lift down, but take the toboggan because it is more fun and safe as long as you don't have someone behind you not paying attention to their speed. The wall is long and has many steps steep in some parts so wear good sneakers. NO SANDALS, FLIP FLOPS, OR HEELS. You will not really need much more than 2 hours at the wall because there are only so many pictures you can take of it before they become redundant. Lunch was at Mr Yang's right there at the wall location. It doesn't come with drinks so be prepared to bring some with you before or be ready to buy some there. Be cautious of the cold dishes sliced tomatoes dish since the pesticides and bacteria can not be cooked out of it. After our meal, we went to a Tea Shop for a tasting. It was an interesting lesson on tea. The prices are high here as well and be careful because this is a type of produce which might not make it back to your destination through customs. Once we were done, the driver took us back to our hotel. The driver made us feel safe for the whole tour. Thank you Alice and our driver for a very pleasant day.

This tour got you to the wall. The crowds in April were small until we came down. The guide was very peppy. I had a hard time understanding her in the back with her accent. I learned enough. Jade factory was interesting but expensive. Tea ceremony was nice. Expect to pay $30 for tea.
