Atlantis Submarine Expedition Tour

Barbados, Barbados

Come experience the adventure of a lifetime on board the Atlantis Submarine! Your adventure begins at the Shallow Draught where you will have time to browse for souvenirs or enjoy a cool drink and snack at Cafe Sublime. Your quest begins when you board the shuttle vessel "Ocean Quest" as you sit back and enjoy the seven-minute scenic cruise to the Atlantis Submarine as the Atlantis crew gives an informative talk.

Once arriving at the dive site, you are treated to the sight of the Submarine surfacing. Then you will make the easy transfer from the Ocean Quest to the Atlantis. On board the vessel you are seated in spacious, air-conditioned comfort as your incredible underwater experience begins.

First the submarine will dive to 55 feet (17 meters) to view the beautiful coral reef and the abundance of marine life, including spectacular coral, sponge, and colorful fish through large, clear viewing windows. The 40-minute underwater journey is narrated by a knowledgeable co-pilot who will point out and explain the amazing sea life as well as give a history of Atlantis and the submarine itself. Before returning to the surface, the submarine descends to depths of 115 to 150 feet (35 - 45 meters) to view what has in the past been reserved for scuba divers only - a sunken shipwreck!

After resurfacing, you are transferred back onboard the Ocean Quest for the return to Shallow Draught. All adult tickets include a complimentary drink!

The Atlantis submarine is the first attraction in the Caribbean to receive the double award from Green Certification in alliance with the Green Globe International.

Very interesting experience!_br/_ We went as a family of 4 kids of 12 and 14. We all enjoyed the experience very much!_br/_ We were picked up at the cruise terminal and transported by taxi van. There is an extra charge for that. I can't remember how much but is the regulated taxi fare per person._br/_ We were able to see lots of sea life and a shipwreck. The tour guide makes the experience enjoyable and funny._br/_ In our case there was a delay and we boarded 20 minutes late that was not a big issue to us._br/_ All is handled in a very professional manner._br/_ I definitively recommend this tour!

Well worth every dollar! The staff was amazing and informative from start to finish. The trip down below was seamless and seeing the wreck and all those fish was amazing. It was a trip for my husband's 60th birthday and he loved every moment of the experience. Would definitely go back.

The tour was a great experience, the tour guide and captain kept us quite occupied. However, expected to see more sea creatures!

The tour was laid back. Not as long as expected but long enough to see some corals amd the shipwreck.

I highly recommend this tour. It was pretty cool to get close close to a sunken ship and hover over a coral reef. My husband and I thought it was well worth the time and money.

The fish and turtle sightings were up to expectations - lots of little fish, some medium, no large, many colorful. Seeing the wrecked ship wasa plus. Submarine seating was comfortable. Only problem was that there was a birthday party of 9-yr-olds, so ther was lots of screaming throughout the trip.

This was a great alternative to snorkeling for those like my father that struggle with swimming. We were able to see many sea creatures like different fishes, a turtle, and a sting ray. Looking at the ship wreck was interesting too. Watching the submarine surface and boarding was exciting. It was worth trying once but not worth going more than one time. It can get crowded but luckily we were in a group of 12 people, the group before us had at least 20 people. It was hard to take clear pictures but definitely worth going at least once.

An amazing adventure from start to finish - the submarine was very comfortable and the staff were absolutely superb. A 45 minute trip under water and very serene and packed with marine life and information. At first glance, you may think it pricey, but it is not - well worth every , or !

I thought this was expensive, however, it is the sort of thing I will probably never get to do again in my life, so well worth it. We were told that we would be underwater for around 40 minutes. It felt much longer than this. At first, I didn't think we were going to see much, but the deeper you get the clearer the visibility at least on the day we did the tour The submarine also turns around, whenever there is something of interests, such as the shipwreck, so that people on each side of the boat get to see it.

I wasn't expecting to see dolphins, or sharks or even an octopus and we didn't. I was simply in awe of being 142 feet below the sea. We did see lots of fishes, a ship wreck and a turtle which was really cool._br/_ The entire process is also very safe.

Trip lived up to reputation, crew were informative with very relaxed atmosphere on board, all too soon it was over. If we go back to Barbados will do trip again.

Turned up for our booked trip and were taken to the transfer boat, only to then be told that the trip had been cancelled due to the rough seas. This was extremely disappointing as the trip had been a birthday present and booked several months in advance. However, the staff were very helpful and as we were staying in Barbados, had the chance to re-book for a couple of days later. Incidentally, we also discovered that a hotel pick-up had been included which we were not aware of (it was our impression that it was excluded from the trip price and could be arranged if wished). At our second attempt, we were picked up from our hotel in St Lawrence (free of charge) and had a great trip on the Atlantis submarine. The staff were all very welcoming and entertaining and gave great commentary on the various coral and marine life in evidence below the waves. Photography was a little tricky as colours are not natural (in the pictures) and clarity is difficult to achieve, however this did not greatly detract from the experience._br/_ Overall, worth doing and transfer back to the hotel at the conclusion was very much appreciated

Overall, our experience was bad for the cost of this trip. We were pushed back to an hour later than we originally booked, then we're delayed for 35 minutes once we got there, so overall we left 1hour and 35minutes late! The submarine was good, however I think this trip is extremely overpriced for what it us and would not recommend it to anyone else!

My husband really enjoyed the Atlantis Submarine Tour. Me not so much. This was a "face your fears" event for me so I'm probably not the best person to rate the tour. He would take it again and hoped to see more marine life (octopus, barracuda etc).

Wasn't bad...felt like we sat on the wrong side of the submarine as we missed a lot of the beautiful ocean scenery the other side got to see. We did not feel like it was worth the money we spent. The submarine was in great shape, the staff was amazing and great. We just felt the under water scenery wasn't the best pick. BEST PART was that we called the day before to figure out pick up time and found out we had "NO" booking ....luckily they were gracious enough and excepted the pre-paid voucher anyways.

Our tour was booked for 11 am, but when we rang to confirm we were told that the 11am slot was booked out for two months and we had a choice of 10 am or 12 am, but we were not told this at the time of booking or afterwards. The trip itself was very entertaining, Neville was the member of the crew who gave us a safety talk and he was hilarious. We were a bit diappointed with the number of fish we saw and the coral isn't anywhere as near as colourful as in the brochure, but it was a great experience and we would do it again.

Having just gone SCUBA diving I was probably hoping for more, but I did really enjoy the trip and it was definitely worth doing. I was a little put off though by the taxi situation. When I booked through VIATOR my voucher included a section stating that transportation to and from mt hotel was included. When my fiance and I arrived at the shop to check in they wanted me to pay for the trip - an extra $30 barbadian. Not a huge expense, but something I had already taken care of. I brought this to their attention and it was ultimately taken care of after a few words, but just be mindful of things like this be it here or anywhere in Barbados - tour companies have a way of screwing you over unless you're careful.

The tour guides were very good and the submarine was very nice and clean; however, my husband and I thought we would see more animal life than we did. We saw some fish but not any sea turtles or octopus'. Maybe our expectation was misaligned; it was just ok for us.

they could not have done it better. Not claustraphobic and air con kept us cool. Shoals of fish close up were amazing. good banter from crew made tour fly by.

Thoroughly enjoyable experience. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and very friendly. They made sure the children on board were actively involved with searching for marine life. We were not squished inside the submarine. The pilot made sure that the views were seen by both sides of the vessel. Got to see a giant female turtle on the reef. Very exciting.

The sub should not go down if it's a cloudy day as you could not see much. Also, the so-called free pickup was not free, and we had to pay 15 each for a ride that could have cost 1.50. It was advertised as an hour and a half, but we were only submerged for 45 minutes.
