Brussels Chocolate Walking Tour and Workshop

Brussels, Belgium

Explore Brussels on a 4-hour guided walking tour with a twist as you following the trail of the city’s top chocolate shops. Your guide will point out the major sights as you go, explaining the history of Brussels and why it's famous for its chocolate. Enjoy tastings of these Belgian treats and learn to create your own in a workshop with a chocolate connoisseur.

Brussels Chocolate Walking Tour and Workshop allows you to learn how to make the real Belgian pralines yourself through a fun workshop. Orangettes, pralines, Easter eggs... The chocolates are made with real cream or alcoholic filling, they do not keep well, but then, you weren't planning on keeping them for long anyway, were you?

You will love this original and extremely delicious walking tour that looks at the authentic Brussels like no other does. You will also walk through the historic old town to Grand Place, the former market square. A short stroll away stands Manneken Pis, the iconic Brussel's statue sculpted by Jerome Duquesnoy in 1619. You'll also see Jeanneken Pis, the square of the Sablon filled with antique shops, the Royal Galleries - seat for the oldest chocolate shop Neuhaus and many more highlights.

I loved this tour! Not only did we get to taste some amazing chocolate, we got to make some too! What a wonderful way to see the city. Highly recommend.

Great tour if you love chocolate. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate - so much chocolate! I really enjoyed learning about how chocolate came to Brussels, how the industry developed and how to appreciate really good chocolate.

So much chocolate!!! The tour guide was amazing I'm sorry I forgot her name - she provided a lot of detail about the city and Belgium and really knew her chocolate. And the workshop was informative, but not too in-depth perfect level. But I enjoyed making the chocolates and think that I could try it at home now. Save room for Marcolini and Mary chocolates - I've never tasted anything so amazing. Definitely worth your time while in Brussels.

We loved our tour! Not being a huge sweets person this was perfect for getting the education and excitement rather than doing this on our own. Our guide was great, personable, knowledgeable and organized a great tour for us. Workshop ends up feeling like you are ruining really good chocolate since I got carried away with toppings that did NOT work but that was user error!

If you love chocolate you will love this tour. We were able to sample chocolates from all the top shops and give a try at making treats ourselves. Fortunately there is a good amount to walking to help burn a few calories!

We were a group of 5 - me, my husband, our six-year-old, and two grandparents. We all had such a wonderful time on this tour and agreed that it was a great way to see the city. Marc, our guide, had a fun sense of humour and was very knowledgeable about all things chocolate. Everyone loved making their own chocolates and we thrilled to be able to walk away with a big bag full of our own creations. Very memorable.

LOVED this tour. Going to the different chocolate shops and tasting was interesting and yummy, but the best part of the tour was the workshop where we got to make our own. This is one of my all time favorite tours. It was just me and my friend, but I think the format would have worked just fine for slightly larger tour too. This is a don't miss tour. Now I'm trying to figure out when I can get back to Belgium to get more of that chocolate!

My son and I really enjoyed this tour. We visited several chocolate stores and tasted one or two chocolates at each while learning about the chocolates and the process of making them. Our guide, Sandra, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about chocolate and Brussels. The hightlight of the tour was the chocolate workshop where we made and decorated a tray full of chocolate delights. I would highly recommend this tour! Try to take the tour on the first day you are in Brussels to get accquainted with the city and learn about places to eat and things to do. There is a lot of walking which at least helps burn off some of the calories consumed from the chocolates!

Brilliant! I did Chocolate tasting tour with the owner Marc. He was very informative, very knowledgable about chocolates and how it was made in Belgium. At the end of the tour I got to spend about an hour create my own chocolates and bring them home. It was a lot of fun.

Informative and good overview of chocolate. It would have been nice to get more info on the city of Brussels, and why chocolate is a mainstay there.

This was a great tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable. The tasting included different types of chocolates from less to more expensive. You get to be a creator of your own chocolate master pieces.

Our guide Avo took us not just through Brussels but the world of Chocolate and how it relates to Belgian history. Very interesting. We learned the difference between Chocolatiers and Confectionaries. The different qualities of chocolate, and we got to make our own. We sampled as we went, bought some here and there and had a wonderful time. Highly recommended and I am not impressed easily. Avo was impressive

My husband and I took this tour on our second visit to Brussels and learned way more about chocloate than I knew there was to learn. Plus we got to try several amazing pieces- don't miss the Earl Grey chocolate from Pierre Marcolini. If you like chocolate and who doesn't? this is definitely worth your time.

Great for Celiacs and non-celiacs alike. Our guide knew great stuff about chocolate and Brussels; after the first part of the walking tour, we enjoyed the chocolate workshop which was outstanding and delicious. If you are gluten (and/or dairy) free, let your guide know so they can accommodate! Yum!

We enjoyed this tour so much, it was the highlight of our trip! We went to 6 different chocolate stores and tasted one or two chocolates at each while learning all about the different chocolates and the chocolate making process. The guide was very knowledgeable about chocolate and Belgium. Making your own chocolate was so much fun! I would highly recommend this tour! Try to take the tour on the first day you are in Brussels because they have so many great suggestions of places to eat and things to do.

Loved the chocolate tour. The guide was friendly, very knowledgeable, loved chocolate and loved sharing some of Brussels best chocolatiers with her group. My wife is not a huge chocolate fan, but she still enjoyed the tour, tried the chocolate and found other types of chocolates that she liked much better. There is a good amount of walking, but that is the point. Get to see the city, learn a bit of history, learn about chocolatiers in Brussels and eat a lot of chocolate.

The tasting part was better than the chocolate workshop. _br/_ We got to try the most exquisite chocolates and also got good info on how chocolate is made etc. However, the workshop was a bit kiddish where they asked us to make our own 'teddy bear' from the melted chocolate! Workshop could be formatted to suit adults!

Really good afternoon with Avo. Lovely mix of Brussels history, cocoa and chocolate gastronomy, and Liverpool Football Club! The workshop was great fun - can't understand why a couple of reviewers were sniffy about it - and we took away bags of delicious chocolate. We learned a lot, ate a lot and four hours flew by.

When I say AMAZING, I mean it was an AMAZING experience! We learned so much more than chocolate. Our tour guide, Avo, informed us on the history, food, and chocolate of Brussels. He was awesome and really knew what he was talking about. We loved the tastings throughout Brussels. The chocolates and hot chocolate were delicious great quality and like nothing else you have ever had or experienced. The recommendations were spot on as well. We'd do this tour ten times over again.

We had a wonderful time. The guide was truly knowledgeable. My daughter who did not like chocolate now loves it, or course only the best! The workshop was the fininshing touch. My only caution is that there is alot of walking through Brussels on the cobblestone streets.

This was one of the worst food tours I've ever taken. Even my 15 year old son, who loved all the chocolate, asked me why we were walking around in circles and why the tour was weird. The tour guide was very quiet and not informative. She went at a snails pace for the first part of the tour, which included 2 chocolate tastings. We then wandered around quite a bit and saw some very weird sights like stagnant water. We then did the chocolate workshop - which was decent mainly because the person who did that part was very engaging, but the workshop was really just dropping chocolate on saran wrap and decorating it. Then we walked again...a lot. And then we went past what the guide told us were flagship chocolate stores and we all thought we'd go into those, but no, we walked past them and continued wandering around. There was one good photo op. Then we wound up back where we started and banged out 3 additional chocolate stores in about 15 minutes - my son loved it but the rest of us couldn't even eat or appreciate that much chocolate in such a short time.

Enjoyed walking through many of the chocolate shops in Brussels and learning a little bit about the chocolate making process and the difference between a chocolate maker and a chocolatier. It was nice to learn a little bit about the city and had a fun time making our own chocolates. The description of the workshop seems to imply you will be making pralines. While you do get to make pralines, it is a group effort and you spend your time making dipped chocolates and topped chocolate discs.

Chocolate were so good and watching how they were made was fun! The tour leader was a bit impatient and not in the mood sometimes. but it got better by time.

What a great way to see Brussels and learn about some of its unique history while also sampling one of the things for which it is best known. This tour will not disappoint you. Sandra was great, extremely knowledgeable of all things Brussels and especially chocolate. Every stop on the tout was unique and interesting and of course making our own chocolate creations was a highlight. The perfect way to see lots of the city and perk up your taste buds as well.

It was an okay experience, but felt very expensive ! Much less than what we expected for the price. _br/_ It was a total of 3 hours started walking from 9.15 am to around 12 noon with workshop in between . _br/_ Went up to 5 different stores, very minimal tasting one tiny chocolate each in every shop ... nothing much as advertised unless you buy your own chocolates. The workshop with making your own choclate was okay. _br/_ The Guide spoke fluent English and explained about the history of the city. Actually he showed restaurants and pubs in Brussels more than chocolates.

This trip was awesome! Able to try different chocolates with different tastes and levels of qualities. The guide was awesome in introducing us the history and different qualities of chocolates, and also the vibes around the Brussels City, such as the best food place, the local bar since 1865 etc etc. Chocolate DIY workshop was fun and nicely put in the middle of the tour so that we have a chance to have a seat for some time in between the 3 hour walk tour! 9am tour is awesome since shops and streets are not yet too crowded. Also suggest whoever is interested to arrange the tour NOT on their last day in Brussels like me... As the guide will introduce quite some recommended food place / beer places, you may miss the chance to try out some of it if you arrange the tour on your last day in Brussels!
