The guide was good though not native to Belgian, the meal okay. I would not call it gourmet belgian food. First we went for the chocolate tasting due to the time the shop would be closing. This seemed odd. Next we went to one of the close by restaurants and were shuttled to the back of the restaurant. The food was good, but not great. Drinks were offered but limited selection. No real discussion about what were were getting and why it was special or what made it special to Belgian. After dinner we went for a waffle at a shop in the Prince section of the nearby covered mall. This was the best waffle we had during our visit so this was a great location to end the tour. The group was great and the best part of the tour as we had great discussions and an entertaining night due to their companionship. Overall, not sure it is worth the price. Would have liked to have meal split between two restaurants perhaps and more discussion on the foods but what can I say, I'm a foodie..

Very informative and interesting guide. We returned to see some of the places he suggested on our second day. He went the extra mile to make this a great experience. The mussels, frites, beer and dessert were great. The main dishes rated somewhere in the middle, but the restaurant was nice.

Two key phrases describe this tour: food and walking - LOTS of both. Make sure to be rested and very hungry. I would describe the food as Belgian traditional - mussels, Belgian beef stew, and waffles just to describe a few of the offerings. Before we ate anything, we had over an hour of walking near the Grand Place and seeing some sights that we probably wouldn't have found on our own. The tour ended up being over 4 hours, and one of our party dropped out prior to the end due to sheer exhaustion, so she missed dessert, but overall it was a good evening. Avo really knows his stuff!

What a great food tour of Brussels food. From the chocolates to the grilled rabbit to the waffles, all was wonderful. A great evening and a great guide. The tour made our trip to Brussels quite special.

If you are looking me and did not know what types of food to eat in Belgium..this is the tour..you get a really extravagant meal..we had rabbit which I'd never had, a steak..several different types of beer..great chocolate and a wonderful waffle at the end...our tour guide was very nice..and the only reason I give it 3 stars is because out tour guide did not give that much historical information.

A slightly chaotic start due to the guide running a little late from a previous tour, but well worth the wait. Very well planned and designed tour, with an excellent, well-informed, entertaining guide. Good value for money and highly recommended, but come with an appetite as there are a lot of courses to taste!

This tour was amazing! Not only were we given more food than we could eat, we were also given a tour that detailed the history of Brussels and Belgium food. Without this tour, I would not have enjoyed Brussels as much as I did. The guide told us of local spots to enjoy our free time and also was so kind and entertaining. The price of this tour is WELL worth it between all the cuisine and beer/wine that is provided. This tour is a MUST for anyone traveling within the area!

Wow! What a fun night with Mark and Arti._br/_ The tour was so fabulous and fun. What a great way to get your food experience when traveling. I went back to Elisabeth chocolates to take gifts back to the US._br/_ Thank you guys._br/_ Unfortunately, no one else in the group was prepared to tip, which I was, so it was a bit awkward for me at the end. Sorry guys.

Our guide was Jan Swerts. June 19 He was a real connoisseur. Tasting his chosen chocolate, beer, food and waffle was a fantastic experience. His explanation was brilliant and funny, making all of us feel like friends. I really thank him for giving us such an indelible memory in Brussels.

This tour isn't really so much a walking gourmet Belgian Food tour, as it is really a quick jaunt around Le Grande Place, followed by a huge dinner of famous Belgian foods. My group was disappointed as we were expecting more of a progressive dinner type event, not just one restaurant. I think if it were better described to us, we would have been happier with the tour, but our expectations were misaligned due to the description of the tour.

This was probably the most enjoyable experience in our entire trip. Most had to do with our tour guide, Marie (or Mary). Marie was enthusiastic to give us a good time. She was very attentive from taking us to taste and appreciate the Brussels beers as she was very concerned that we taste the best Zealand mussels. And of course she took us to taste the best Belgian waffles. She spent time to explain _br/_ the history and background of the city as we walked around during the evening. She paced well _br/_ the tour and spent time with us long after the "official' end of the tour. Best is probably her kind, caring and cheerful personality. Thank you Marie!_br/_ Sam and Ellen Markowitz, Toronto, Canada

My husband and I enjoyed the tour and guide. The only problem I have is this was NOT gourmet, this was local food - still good, but not what the title suggests. We went to one pub for beer, one restaurant for (bad) wine, mussels and stews, the had a waffle and chocolate truffle. With all the gourmet restaurants on Brussels, I don't see how they think this is gourmet.

We had a small group, 4 of us. Nadia was fantastic! First, we sampled Belgian chocolates and beer. After, we had a fabulous dinner at a local restaurant. We tried several dishes, including the mussels, all were fantastic. Last, we finished the night with waffles and coffee. This is a terrific tour and we highly recommend!

A nice way to spend a few hours, being taken around interesting streets we would never have found otherwise, by a pleasant guide, with odd stop offs for food and refreshment.

We had a great time on this tour. There were eight of us ladies plus another group of five ladies so Stephan had his hands full! The cherry beer at 8% is fab - try it! Go to Brussels and go on this tour! We also did a chocolate tour by the same company with Mark which was also fab!

The food was good but the tour wasn't really a walking tour. It started with beer in a bar, then walked to an apartment for the main meal, and then walked to a cafe for waffles for dessert. I had expected something more like a food tour I did in Miami, where we walked to maybe 8 restaurants and had small plates at each. This was ok but expensive for what it was.

Our night walking tour was very different from what we booked and expected. The tour was described as a 3-hour walking tour to discover Brussels by night, trying traditional foods in local restaurants. What we experienced was very different. Marc the tour company owner, met us at the Grand Place and gave us a brief description of the area. He then told us that he had changed the tour due to significant delays in restaurants, so we were going to his apartment for a traditional meal prepared by his chef. The meal was wonderful with wine pairings but was a bit rushed. We had no time to enjoy the wine as Marc had his jacket on, signaling us that it was time to go for dessert. We walked to the Galleries to a traditional waffle bakery and had the very best fresh waffle with a dusting of icing sugar. All great. The end-result was a very nice quality, tasty dinner and Marc was very interesting and pleasant. We would have appreciated knowing in advance that there was no walking tour. Also given all our dining experiences in Brussels restaurants, I would suggest lowering the price OR adding an actual walking tour.

very knowledgable guide, friendly, the food was superb, all in all we had a great time. What really struck us as strange - but was worth it - was the fact that a whole flat was rented where we could sit down, eat, drink and talk like an old group of friends!

Awesome Tour!_br/_ We did Gourmet Belgian Food tour and really enjoyed it. We had done similar tour in Barcelona but this one was much better and different. Our tour guide Marc (he is also the owner of this tour company) did a great job. He started the Tour in his apartment where traditional Belgian food was served, accompanied by good wines and beer.It was very nice atmosphere, you get a chance to talk to different people from other countries .At the end of the dinner Marc took us to traditional Belgian cafe for famous Belgian waffle. Marc is a great guide, very knowledgeable and has great sense of humor.Thank you Marc! This tour is a must if you want to eat Belgian food and get information about Belgian cuisine.

The tour was very good. We went to three traditional restaurants and had very good food. Plus Raoul provided us with a lot of information about the area, history, people, etc. It was nice that there were only 3 tourists in the group so it felt like we were out with friends rather than on a tour.

I was the only one that turned up. It was nice. Had a nice belgian beer, then had beer braised beef, mussels, fritz, mashed potato with cauliflower, sausage and ham. Belgian waffle was very light and tasty esp after a heavy meal. Guide was great. Walked me to my hotel. Price of tourLittle expensive.

This tour was a fun tour. It ended up being all women which made it more fun for us all. The food was not gourmet but typical Belgian food. I would name it the Typical Belgian Cuisine Tour.

The most redeeming part of the tour was the excellent first restaurant we went to, and that all of the participants were very friendly and nice. The tour started off the guide showing up late and half drunk. We then went to a chocolate store which was closed. We had a beer, then proceeded to the restaurant. The tour guide managed to get us kicked out of the restaurant after the first course, so another restauarnt had to be found. The second restaurant was awful and very touristy. The dessert (Brussels waffle) was ok, but nothing spectacular. By far, the best part of this tour was the first restaurant and the excellent people that were on the tour with us.

Delicious! Tour started at the Royal Toones bar and then we went to Chez Patrick for mussels, ham with endives, shrimp in a cream sauce, and plenty of Bordeaux wine. Then we finished the meal at a dessert place for a traditional Belgian waffle. Our tour guides were fantastic! And, they were kind enough to give me a ride back to my apartment because it was late at night and didn't want me walking the streets alone! Very nice!

wow what a rip off talk about just unk! The guide was late! the oldest pub- no chefs ever came into view- no chocolate-the waffle was old and cold- no gourmet-- the fires were not as good as from street vendors-- I will not recommend this tour-- it was awful!

The guide spoke really bad English, and did not tell us anything about Belgian food or things related to eating, history or culture. Some of the participants were already extremely drunk as the tour started and we had to wait for them in many places. The food left a lot to be desired - and for dinner our group was joined by another drunk guy who presented himself as the manager of the company. Not professional at all - especially considering the cost! I do not recommend this tour to anyone - especially if you like good food.

The word 'Gourmet' should be left out of the this food tour. It was anything BUT Gourmet and probably the worst quality food we ate in Brussels over the 3 days we were there. We were about 7 people in our tour and we happen to meet up with the other 5 by chance over the following 2 days and they were all unhappy/disappointed with the tour. Definitely NOT recommended and definitely not worth the money. It was very expensive for very poor quality. If the tour says GOURMET, you'd expect GOURMET, not normal 'diner' food. Even the restaurants we went to (3 of them) were not the kind of restaurants I would even think of going in to and even though the guide was very friendly and very nice, she was a very poor guide. Was it not for her colleague that joined us for a bit, we would not have known many facts she was suppose to tell us on the tour. From wikipedia: GOURMET may describe a class of restaurant, cuisine, meal or ingredient of high quality, of special presentation, or high sophistication. This was everything but.

The trip was fun and ok, but not a gourmet tour. We had a beer one place, food another and a "dull" waffle at the third place. The food was ok but certainly not gourmet style.

A big disappointment, visit one pub, have good food but unfriendly host in another restaurant, and a dessert at another. Good food but a terrible tour guide, we could have done much better simply having a meal at a restaurant.I can not recommend this one, sorry, but it was not good.
