Copenhagen Panoramic City Tour with Harbor Cruise

Copenhagen, Denmark

See the sights of Copenhagen by coach and by boat on this two-part tour of the city and harbor. View top Copenhagen attractions as you drive through the Danish capital past City Hall, the Tivoli Gardens, Gefion Fountain and Kongens Nytorv, with stops at Amalienborg Palace or Christiansborg Palace and the iconic 'The Little Mermaid' statue. Then hop aboard a canal boat and cruise around Copenhagen's thriving harbor, lined with more famous sights and a mix of old and new architecture. Enjoy informative audio commentary on board.

Board a coach near Copenhagen City Hall for the first part of your tour. Driving through the city, view the Tivoli Gardens, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek art museum and the magnificent Gefion Fountain and Kongens Nytorv. Morning tour-goers will spend 30 minutes at Amalienborg Palace to watch the Changing of the Guards ceremony; afternoon tour-goers will instead stop at Christiansborg Palace to view its beautiful gardens.
Both tours continue exploring Copenhagen afterwards, with a stop at the The Little Mermaid statue, a cultural city icon based on the beloved fairy tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen.
At the old fish market at Gammel Strand, your canal boat awaits to take you on the second portion of your tour: a cruise through Copenhagen's bustling harbor. Glide past the capital's towers and palaces, and drift along the picturesque canals of Christianshavn and Frederiksholm, where colorful historical buildings stand side-by-side with modern structures. Some sights of the Danish capital are best viewed from this vantage point.
Your tour concludes back at Gammel Strand, just a few minutes' walk from Stroget, the main shopping street in the city.

The tour arranged through Stromma Copenhagen, had very unhelpful guide and very unfriendly .In addition they left us at the harbor without dropping us at the pick up site. This was very inconvenient and we had to walk a lot._br/_ I will never book a tour with Stromma Copenhagen in future.

We were supposed to meet the tour at 11 am. Hotel desk said it would take less than five minutes to get there. We left 20 minutes early but got stuck in traffic and didn't make it to the tour stop until 11:08 and the but was gone. Obviously they didn't care that a lot of construction was going on and someone might be late. And we were four people! I guess that Viator in Copenhagen doesn't give a hoot about the customer. Not a good thing.

Great tour for visitors to wonderful Copehagen! The tour takes you through the city and stops at major tourist attractions including The Little Mermaid, home of the Danish Royal family Amalienborg, and the modern Opera house. Our guide Teddy is very knowledgeable of this fabulous city. Because the tour group size can be large, please be considerate of fellow travelers and be back on the bus on time. We also did the Harbor cruise which provided another perspective of this lovely city. Tour of Copenhagen by land and sea is a fabulous way of enjoying this gem in Scandinavia!

Review by:   nix2607,    September 2017 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
We went to the designated meeting place to start our tour, and found a dozen or more other people standing around with tickets for the tour in their hands also. No bus to be found. We looked a block down the street and saw a bus sitting there, and upon approaching the bus, we were told it was the bus for the tour. When I asked the tour guide why the bus wasn't at the designated meeting place, she said they did not have a parking spot there. Poor excuse. I'm don't know if anyone else has had this problem with finding the tour bus.

I booked my tour before leaving the U.S. and Viator emailed instructions on where to meet the tour bus. The instructions were inadequate to say the least. We walked for about 45 minutes asking before we left the hotel where we were to meet the bus and people on the street along the way. Nobody seemed to know where City Hall was. The instructions said to meet under the tower, which was impossible because the tower was on the side of a building. You could not get under it.. The instructions also said the bus would say something entirely different than what was on the bus when we finally found it. It was a good thing we started out early or we would have missed the tour. There were 4 of us together.

It was a great overview of Copenhagen. The tour guide was very helpful.

The idea behind this tour is good -- you get to see the city first from the ground on a bus, and then from the water on a boat. In reality, though, there are some issues.

Excellent tour ! We waited where indicated- driver located us and directed us to the bus. Commentary with earphones ensured an explanation of all important sites. Maria was a gem and made all instructions precise as well as offering any assistance required. A great way to be introduced to the city.

We were on a cruise ship. We had to get ourselves into the city on our own and find City Center. Keep your eyes open and remember where you are. Harbor tour was very nice, tho we had rain so guide handed out plastic ponchos! Fun!

The bus tour was extremely convenient to hop on and have a quick introduction to the major points of interest of the city. Unfortunately, we were not aware of the free ear pieces to be plugged on when we boarded the bus and missed out on the narration for a good part. Be good to make it a point that everyone gets that and not wonder where the voice should be coming from and make enquiries. The taped narration was informative and the arrival at the Palace for the changing of the guards was timely.. The Harbour cruise is a must do to enjoy the city and life by the waters especially the marina, boathouses and interesting architecture. However, the queuing by the boarding point could have been a more pleasant experience with more shade, seating area and comfort. The 2 cubicles of public toilet with an unusual locking system baffled tourists and simply not enough and were also filthy. I've expected more from an advanced European country.

A very good tour given the reasonable price. We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. I'd recommend this to friends without a lot of time to spend on a tour.

ATTENTION: this tour does NOT visit the new harbor at all, though it uses its picture. Besides, the tour will NOT take you back to the hotel. When you are off the canal boat, you are on your own to figure the way back. The guide promised that any bus would take us back but it was not the case!

A really great way to get an overview of Copenhagen from the start. The bus trip gives you the layout, and a cruise followed by lunch in Nyhavn is not to be missed.

This is an overview tour, if you have never been to the city, then doing this tour would be recommended. The process was simple and the guide on the tour and boat were both great. The tour picks up in the center of town, about 3.7 km from our cruise port. The boat returns you about 3.2 km from the ship, so please keep that in mind if walking is an issue although we could have used the ships transfer service or a taxi which is additional monies. There are some duplication in the tour seeing the same venue twice, once by land and once by water but a nice overview of the city.

I like the multilingual guides and walking through the old towns but during the canal boat cruise, we heard similar information. Tour guide on the canal boat cruise was a bit robotic and monotonous but overall experience was pleasant and informative.

The bus tour is SUPER touristy, but it does take you to all of the must-see sights and an audio guide gives you some nice history. The harbor cruise is awesome. We had walked to all of the main attractions the day before little mermaid, royal palace, opera house. However, the harbor cruise gives you an awesome way to see the city by boat. If I had to do it again, I would've skipped the bus tour and just booked the harbor cruise.

My teenage son and I only had a couple of days in Copenhagen and wanted to hit the highlights. On this trip, we also didn't want to walk all day. This tour did that. The bus was a double decker and we sat on top. Instead of the normal recorded audio, we had a live guide. They also split us into two groups by language at the changing of the guards. The bus tour finished at the boat tour location. We had a live guide on the boat also. We went in late April so the weather was a bit chilly. There are inside and outside options on the boat. It was a bit difficult to see from the inside seats, as the class roof/windows were cloudy. I didn't pay enough attention to see if they were just dirty. We spent as much time as possible outside, until increasing rain forced us inside. The building architecture in Copenhagen is a delightful mix of old and cutting edge modern. This tour allowed us to cover a lot of ground to see much more than if we were walking. If you are staying longer than a day or two, I would recommend this at the start of your stay to give you an idea of what you want to see the rest of your trip.

I highly recommend this tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I loved seeing the changing of the guard. When we got on the boat, that guide was great as well. I made a list before I came to Copenhagen of the things I wanted to see. This tour covered them all.

The tour was great but October is generally not a good time to see Copenhagen as the weather is unpredictable. It actually forecasted one week ago as cloudy with a chance of rain for that day but it eventually was a bad day with rain and cold weather overall. The guide was great but it is expensive.

The boat cruise is a great way to see the city by water. I was a bit disappointed with the commentary on the bus, not allot of interesting tit-bits or history - pretty basic stuff really. The guide was lovely - just wanted more information.

Enjoyed the land tour better than the boat tour. Had great weather. The place to get the bus was very difficult to find. The bus driver did not turn on the air conditioning until everyone was on, which took a very long time. We were very, very hot.

It was an excellent tour and gave you a good view and understanding of the area. It was rather cold and their were tiny sprinkles of rain. However, they gave us a rain poncho that kept us dry and warmer. Unlike other tours like the one in London they gave us plenty of time to see the changing of the guards. We were there early enough to secure a great view of the event.

This is a great tour to orient yourself in Copenhagen. It is a great way to see every major attractions in Copenhagen and then decide from here where you would like to go back to and spend a bit more time. The Harbour Cruise is very interesting ... all these small bridges you drive through are great. Copenhagen is a very interesting city and so diverse. Love seeing all the bicycles in Copenhagen. Watch for the bike lanes... they have the right of way.
