Blarney Castle and Cork Day Trip from Dublin

Dublin, Ireland

Visit three top Ireland attractions in one day on the Blarney Castle and Cork Day Trip from Dublin. From the comfort of your luxury coach, you'll travel south to Blarney Castle, Cork City and the Rock of Cashel cathedral, passing through beautiful, green South Irish countryside on your way. Be sure to kiss the famous Blarney Stone, and you'll be blessed with the "gift of the gab" for a lifetime of smooth talking!

Leaving the city of Dublin behind, you'll set off on board a luxury, air-conditioned coach and watch the landscape change from Dublin's urban cityscape to the rolling, green hills that typify the Irish countryside. Your day trip will drive through several areas of interest, including the Galtee Mountains and the Curragh in County Kildare, which is home to Ireland's National Stud Farm and is famous as a sporting region.

Passing south through County Tipperary, your tour will reach Blarney Castle by late morning. This beautiful medieval castle is home to one of Ireland's best loved treasures - the fascinating Blarney Stone, which sits at the top of the castle's tower. According to legend, kissing the stone bestows the kisser with the "gift of the gab," or talent for eloquence that the Irish famously possess.

From Blarney Castle, your tour will continue on to Cork City, where you will have approximately two hours at leisure for independent sightseeing. Enjoy lunch at the English Market (available for an extra cost) or perhaps visit the triple-spired St Finn Bar's Cathedral. Your guide will be happy to provide recommendations of further things to do in Ireland's third-largest city.

On leaving Cork, you'll head up to the Rock of Cashel back up in County Tipperary. This imposing Celtic Cathedral towers above the town of Cashel from a limestone mound, approximately 200 feet (61 meters) high. Highlights at the Rock of Cashel include the Hall of Vicars and Cormac's Chapel, home to the oldest Romanesque wall painting in Ireland. Explore these historical sites with your guide, before heading back to Dublin to arrive in the early evening.

What a day and an excellent driver and guide we had on May 16. While the driver talked a lot and sang all the way, yes really all the way, and back, he was nothing less than very interesting. He knew a lot about Ireland and we have enjoyed our trip to Blarneys Castle and all the other stops we made along the way. Great tour and grat driver.

Really enjoyed our trip to Cork. The Rock of Cashel was most interesting, and of course kissing the Blarney Stone at the Castle is a must! A wonderful surprise visit was Cahir Castle. Wonderfully preserved._br/_ Marilyn and John Lawrie, South Africa

This was a wonderful trip. Blarney Castle, Cahir Castle, and the Rock of Cashel were all wonderful attractions as expected. Our guide/bus driver was very well-informed and very eager to share all of his knowledge. Although this was wonderful and enlightening at times, he did become very repetitive throughout the day . The coach was very clean and comfortable. The driver/tour guide provided very clear directions on where and when to meet. The logistics ran very smoothly. One big issue I had: the trip was advertised as having a stop in Cork, but this was changed without any notice to Cahir Castle instead. I never received an email notification nor any explanation from the driver/tour guide as to why this happened. I was very excited to travel to Cork and was sorely disappointed when I found out we were not going, on the morning of the trip, on the bus. If you are looking to go to Cork, this tour will not take you there!

I highly recommend this tour. Our driver was fantastic, more like a tour guide, sharing local history as well as current events: the castles were amazing, the highlight being the grounds of Blarnery Castle. Cannot wait to return,

This trip was amazing! Our guide was wonderful and told some of the history of Ireland along with the history of the sights we went to. The bus was comfortable and the temperature was great as well. I would highly recommend this trip!

We had a great day visiting the south of Ireland. Amazing views. The castles are gorgeous but i especially enjoyed Rock of Cashel. Liam was our driver/tour guide. He was delightful. I want to come back and do it again!!!!

Great day! Great tour! The Extreme Ireland tour company actually changed this tour a bit from the title. Due to touring time constraints, there was no visit to Cork. This allowed more time to spend at the three castles: Blarney, Cahir, and the Rock of Cashel. Our tour guide, Noel, a retired school teacher, was a hoot! Very dry, but liked to sing to us. He was a very knowledgeable and enjoyable guide.

I only didn't give it 5 starts because the Cork portion of the tour wasn't very exciting. Our tour guide did tell us that they would no longer be taking the tour to Cork and instead doing another castle.

Very disappointed...booked this tour back in Nov . because the iternary stated it was spending time in Cork, city center..very upset changed without contacting me. We went to a castle instead. Not what I booked. However the blarney stone was awesome...Didnt like no wifi on bus when was stated it was available. Also was not a fan of this company using the bus driver as a tour guide too..

Alec was a great and informative driver/guide. He pointed out insider sites and kept us up to date on arrival times, bathroom breaks etc. We experienced a disappointment when we arrived at Cashel, walked up the hill to entry and was informed it was closed. Alec handled this obstacle like a pro! He went out of his way and drove us to Cashir so that we would get the inside of the castle experience. He said it was a bit of a test because he hadn't been there before but we so appreciated him taking a chance as we got to see 3 castles on this trip! With the 3 castles Cashel, Cashir and Blarney and the day trip to Cork it was a great tour.

So glad we did Blarney Castle, we almost didn't thinking it we be really cheesy don't know why I thought that. The super narrow winding stairs to the top of the castle were cool. The grounds were gorgeous and the underground caves were eerie but neat as well! Oh and the Waterfall! Beautiful!

I am so happy that I booked this tour with Viator ! The price was more than reasonable for all the places we stopped at. We seen more than we had expected. There was plenty of time at each site and we were not on the bus all day. Bud our driver was informative, thorough, funny and very courteous. We absolutely loved him. Next time in Dublin/Ireland I will defiantly choose this company.

I had a great time on this trip. The weather wasn't so great, but that's Ireland for you. It was still a wonderful time with good organization and just the right amount of time for each activity.

This was the best use of a day especially if you aren't familiar with the area and driving on the left. Everything went according to the schedule. Great value for what is provided. The coach was clean and comfortable. You have to watch your time at each location there isn't any time to waste.

My friend and I took this tour when we were visiting Ireland and we had such a great time! We had the funniest tour guide named Joseph. He sang, he told jokes and even taught us some animal noises. He made all the down time extremely entertaining and he was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Ireland. He had great stories and had great first hand knowledge of his country. We loved all the stops we made. The Rock of Cashel was beautiful, we loved running around the City of Cork and ringing the bell at the church, and we had a lot of fun seeing all there is to see at the beautiful Blarney Castle. We had a lot of time at the Castle, although spent a lot of time in line to kiss the stone, we were able to run around and hit almost all the areas on the beautiful grounds. I would highly recommend this tour and thanks so much for an awesome day!

We loved the trip. It was long, but worth the ride. The driver was funny, but he gave us good information. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We had a lot to see in such a short time. We loved the gardens around Blarney Castle. They were beautiful even in the cold rain. I would do it again with another person if they wanted to go.

Almost 5 stars! Bud, our guide, was wonderful. Blarney Castle and the surrounding area is picturesque. Lunch was scrumptious! First stop was Rock of Cashel which sets you up for Blarney. The only downside was Cork: last stop, late in the day, dropped off in the tourist area and no time to see the real Cork.

It was a good trip and our guide was nice but then again he was so annoying. He had a Monotone voice that put you to sleep which a lot of us wanted to do hed keep talking an would say one more thing and then Ill let you rest but hed kept going on and on and on. Hed talk about things from his generation that the 20 year olds had no clue about that was on this trip. He need to give us tired people a break and when he does talk make it lively and fun. Now the transport bus was terrible. It was very small and for a 2.5 hr trip each way you need something more comf.

First, the bus driver Edel was fantastic. She was engaging, entertaining and fun. The ride from Dublin was about 3 hours. We stopped on the way out/back at a rest stop which broke up the trip. Not to bad in the morning because you could enjoy the landscape, but very long ride back in the dark. The visit to the Rock of Cashel was very interesting with great views of the countryside. The ruins of the former castle were pretty impressive. The visit to Blarney Castle was somewhat disappointing, because there wasn't much of a castle to see. You climb the stairs narrow to the top and you can see/kiss the Blarney Stone, but that was it. The grounds were pretty impressive and we spent most of our time wandering around, but then spend the remainder of our time in a very large store that sold Irish goods. If the trip to Blarney Castle was s bit disappointing the trip to Cork was very disappointing. Not much to see other than a quick walk down a outside shopping plaza and of course a few pubs if you wanted a drink. Same sites you'd see in Dublin, but a step down...not a place I'd revisit. Overall, a very long day. Bring food, drinks and a book for the bus ride. .

This trip was flat out amazing. My wife and I were going to rent a car and drive out to western Ireland for a couple days but the itinerary changed and we decided to book this day trip. David our driver was an amazing guide, giving us facts about the country and area as we drove through. The whole trip was a success, we would have never thought to stop and see the Rock of Cashel or spend time in the city of Cork, but due to this trip we did and both were amazing stops. The Blarney Castle was definitely the high light of the tour, but all the additional stops, David's shopping advice, David's knowledge, and jokes made the tour fantastic.

It was fun-a few different very interesting locations...wish we had more time in Cork (only had time for lunch...not to actually see the area). GREAT GUIDE! He was the best! Only gave 4 stars because of the itinerary but the guide was definitely 5 stars!

Our tour guide / driver Joseph Patrick was fantastic. Besides providing constant information about Ireland's history, current events, tour locations, answering questions and describing numerous roadside sightings, his personality was fantastic, very warm and friendly. He sang Irish songs, told jokes and kept us entertained constantly throughout the day making a 12 hour trip very enjoyable and relaxing. He kept the group informed of arrival and departure times and kept the tour on schedule throughout the day. He was one of the best tour guides we have experienced over our decades of touring in Europe and the US.

The stop at Cork was way too short and at a time where not many places were serving food - so not a great place to stop for lunch. would have either liked more time or at a different time of day. Blarney castle was pretty cool and the surrounding area was great. beautiful grounds

I had the pleasure of doing a day trip to Cork with Joseph, our amazing Tour Guide. He was entertaining singing, telling jokes and stories and very informative of the area we visited and Irish history. He wanted us all to enjoy ourselves, so nicely explained to us about time-keeping and of the two Mexicans, still running to catch his bus. He welcomed us every time, onto the bus and as we exited, told us to enjoy ourselves. Our return journey was in the dark and it was raining, and Joseph made that few hours on the bus, all the more enjoyable.

Perfect day trip from Dublin. Saw three great sites in one day. The bus travel had a good number of stops to break up the time on the road. The driver Alec had great tips and in-sites into all of the locations as well as restaurant recommendations for Dublin. Make sure to check out the English Market in Cork!

Our tour guide Joseph Patrick Mulligan made the tour! He was fantastic from start to finish. Gave us so much background of Ireland and the places we visited, sang Irish songs with his melodic voice and kept us laughing with his funny jokes._br/_ My daughter and I took another tour another company with another tour guide today and all we did was compare him to Joesph. _br/_ Thank you Joey for keeping the leprechaun song stuck in our heads!

Pros: Bus is nice. Tour is informative and funny. You really do get a lot for this fee - it's an all day thing with all of your admissions. Driver is well versed in the area. We ran into some serious traffic and he was able to reroute us. We were barely delayed. He also stopped along the side of the road to allow us for some picture opportunities. Timing of tours were well planned too - at the Cashel Rock we were the only people there which was awesome. We arrived at the Blarney Castle with almost no one there as well which was great - allowed us a lot of time to tour the grounds.
