Freeport Half-Day Tour

Freeport, Bahamas

Explore the riches of 'Millionaires Row' to the duty-free shopping at a local liquor shop on the Grand Bahamas Island on this Freeport City Tour. Visit an open air fruit market, see the home of international entertainer Count Basie and stroll through the Garden of the Groves - a 12 acre (48,000 sq. km) park with winding paths, cascading waterfalls and a picturesque chapel on a hill in addition to many flora and fauna from all around the world!

For a great overview of Freeport, take this relaxing half-day tour of Grand Bahama's most vibrant city. From views of the island's up-market homes to shopping at the International Bazaar, you'll see all the highlights of Grand Bahama's commercial capital.

The tour takes you to Millionaire's Row, Grand Bahama's version of Beverly Hills. You'll visit a conch vendor and find out how to make conch salad before traveling to Freeport's open-air fruit market.

Traveling a little further west, you'll see the deep-water harbor and then visit a local liquor shop on the island where you can purchase liquor at duty-free prices.

Visit the home of international entertainer Count Basie before ending the Freeport tour with some shopping at the market place.

The tour itself was fine, driver was friendly and efficient. But honestly there's just not a lot to do on the island. Too many store stops in my opinion but I'm not a big shopper

Good tour and we had a good tour director/driver . It was very informative and the commrntary covered the whole island history as well as the highlights of the tour itself.

This tour started off very well, we drove down Millionaires Row and spent a scant 45 minutes at Garden of the Groves, which should have been the highlight of this tour. From here, the tour evolved into 3 horrible shopping stops with way too much time allotted at each stop. The International Bazaar was only a stop at a perfume store and the rest of the shops were boarded up. The conch demonstration was a parking lot fruit market and no demonstration. This tour would be greatly improved if more time was given at the gardens and less time for shopping. An alternative - just book at tour to Garden of the Groves.

The tour guide was great, the buses comfortable! We appreciated the extrat effort to pick us up at the port, even though we were delayed. The tour itself, however, was unsatisfactory and did not meet our expectations - except for the Garden of the groves and a brief glimpse of millionaire's row. We would have preferred time on the beach.

The city tour was very interesting and the Botanical Gardens were amazing. The outdoor fruit stands were nasty. The perfume factory was just a small candle shop. The bus was nice and our tour guide was very entertaining!

The Garden of the Groves was more than expected. Would love to have spent more time there and skipped the rest of the tour.

This was the second time that my husband and I came to Freeport. We were disappointed to see that the market has changed. Still, we enjoyed the bahama mama drinks offered at one of the stalls and the fresh fruits which we brought back to our hotel to eat later.

Waste of time and money.

I enjoyed my time in Freeport. Weather was grand and the time spent there was great fun.

Tour wasn't as promised. Going to the "candle making factory, open air market and international bazaar" was a joke. Just a shameless drop off to tourist stores. Our driver was great and he took us to the marina even though it wasn't on his itinerary.

Was not what I expected. We saw the court house, and port authority bldgs. We went to an open market. _br/_ Toured "Millionaires Row". There was not a lot to see. Our tour guide was nice but this trip needs some better sites.

our experience was not the best, the Viator excursion was not clearly marked at the port as were the others. We were not aware that they would be picking up other passengers at the different hotels,we wasted almost 2hrs of our precious time in Freeport doing just that. The driver was very pleasant, but we feel that our time was not well spent.

Was charged an extra $10/person for combo tour which I didn't sign up for...Would have liked to have seen the port where cruise ships come in

The only bad thing was that they did not know how many people were going on this tour. When they were picking people up at the hotels, we had to get a bigger tour bus becuase there was more people than they realized. This took 15 minutes. Then we went to Botanical Gardens, where there was confusion on who had to pay and who did not. The paper does not state that it was paid for, but they accepted the paper version of the voucher. Also, the tour end up being a total of 5.5 hours instead of 3 as stated. Overall it was a good tour, but it was more of shop here and here to me.
