Death Valley Day Trip from Las Vegas

Las Vegas, United States of America

Escape to the desert on a day trip to Death Valley during your Las Vegas vacation. You'll travel through the magnificent Mojave Desert, tour Ubehebe Crater, visit the atmospheric Furnace Creek Ranch Museum and Rhyolite Ghost Town.

Your Death Valley adventure begins with a complimentary continental breakfast in Beatty, Nevada, your first stop in the Mojave Desert.

See the impressive salt pan of Devil's Golf Course and the beautiful badlands landscape at Zabriskie Point. After enjoying some boxed lunch, continue to Ubehebe Crater. The crater is all that remains from a volcanic eruption so powerful that it destroyed the volcano itself. Then it's on to Furnace Creek Ranch Museum, where you can learn about the history of Death Valley.

Stop next at Badwater, the lowest spot in North America, at 282 feet (85 meters) below sea level, with a permanent spring-fed pool where you actually can walk on the salt flats. Your final stop on the tour is at Rhyolite Ghost Town, before concluding at your original departure point.

The pick up was on time, a great start to any trip. Jack was informative right from the start keeping us up to date. His choice of fill in music was good as well.

An early start for this one but with a small group 13 people in this case. Breakfast, lunch and unlimited water being provided. Rest stops and viewing stops were plentiful. Ralph our driver was a star his commentary was fabulous explaining everyones questions...a true font of knowledge. First stop was at the Haunted hotel just before Death Valley which was interesting as was the Badlands and Zabriski point. Fantastic landscape there and colours. Then onto the Valley. First stop being the sea level marker then down we went. The Devils Golf Course being the first real stop there...wow. On to the Salt flats at Badwater Basin once again a great stop. Next was Artists Pallette before our lunch stop at the golf course. The visitors centre had a shopping opportunity for our daughter. More stops on the way back included a ghost town and the sand dunes. A final stop being a gas station on the way back the Area 51 Alien Centre. If your not doing that trip get your goodies here. All in all the best trip of our tour thanks to Ralph and the frequent stops...great if you have kids no are we nearly there yet comments. Five stars!

I really enjoyed the Death Valley tour with Jack our guide and Mike our driver. Death Valley is such a unique area and I was mesmerised by its other-worldly scenery. I would recommend the Death Valley tour. The only down side was the lunch which needed some salad.

Wow! This was the best trip. Our guide Ralph kept us entertained with so much local history and is obviously well read in many areas -- geology, geography, history. Our driver Joshua was friendly too and did a great job getting us to and from our destination. Although this was a long day, we didn't even notice. Death Valley is amazing. Since you really should go, I won't add any spoilers about this fantastic day trip!

Excellent day excursion from Las Vegas. We comfortably explored much of Death Valley with Ted, our tour guide. A special surprise was our visit to Rainbow Canyon, also known to pilots at Star Wars Canyon, where we were able to see at least five jets practice their runs through the canyon. It was so exciting to see and hear them fly by us. Our box breakfast and lunch was great and appreciated. We highly recommend this trip to learn about the largest national park in the U.S. below Alaska.

Tons of stops and a great way to see A LOT in 1 day. Driver/guide was super knowledgable about the area and its geography and history too.

Highly disappointed. First, the advertisement on it was not followed. For instance an early breakfast in Beatty was not done and the box lunch was up to snuff. Worst, we didn't get to the Dunes nor the park service building for them. For me this was important because the Park office had one of the Passport stamps that I wanted for my book. I liked the Artistes Palette best. DWR

Death Valley was amazing, my favorite Nationalpark in the US. We were a group of three and our tour guide Ralf knew all about Death Valley and showed us a lot of great places. There were only a few tourists in january. I highly recommend this tour!

The heater on the bus was not working. When I complained, the tour guide kept saying it will warm up later. Freezing cold for the first 3 hrs. My sons cold got worse._br/_ Took them a long time to collect people from different hotels. _br/_ To be fair, the tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. But he asked for a tip of 15-20 of the total price, while the other tour company asked 5-10 per person for a similar full day tour._br/_ I would not go with use this company again.

This was a very nice trip. We saw some beautiful sights. The best was the migrating tarantula crossing the street. Expect it to be a very long day when you go. Our driver, Ralph, was so knowledgeable and passionate about everything. He knew so much information and tried to tell us as much as he could. If you have a day to spend, this is a great trip.

First of all thanks to our Driver & Guide forgot the name for making this trip unforgettable. He is so so informative that he keeps on telling us the things not only about Death Valley but other many things too. i think in our 13 hrs tour he didn't tell us or talk to us about anything for 3 hrs. _br/_ TAlk about Death Valley so really don't know why its called Death Valley but after visit, i think this is the most lively place on earth. Nature have shown us the power that how things can be created completed different within miles only. Both sides of the road have different kind of mountains, from high top to lew bottom its amazing and must must visit.

We did not like this trip at all. For sure it is better and cheaper to rent a car and visit Death Valley on your own. Then you can visit and spend in every place as much time as you want. My biggest disappointment is that we did not have a chance to see the Badwater and it is on the list! Yes you can make a photo with a sign Badwater Basin but you are only able to spend there 15 min which is not enough to get to the point where you can actually see the beauty of it. Furthermore it would be nice to have a stop at Alien shop or gas station which is on the way, just to take a photo.. It is not on the list but instead of having a stop 5min earlier in the middle of nowhere it would be nice to stop there.

Perfect! Death Valley is a long drive from Las Vegas so we did not want to drive ourselves. We booked this tour and had a fabulous time. Our guide, Ralph, was friendly and kind. He was a fountain of knowledge and made sure we had ample stops for picture taking, exploring and to use the restrooms.

Went with a company called Casino Travel and their driver called Jack. This bloke made the day! Extremely knowledgeable about the area AND everywhere else on the planet! He has a wealth of information about all the places you visit and plenty of jokes to keep everyone smiling. If you get Jack as your driver you're in for a good day. Death valley is an amazing place and to visit it with a small group on a comfortable mini-bus is ideal. I'd recommend this trip.

This is a 400 mile comprehensive tour of Death Valley and the Mohave Desert. Although it was long 13 hours with other pickups, it was well worth the money and time. Our driver Ralph was great. He talked knowledgeably and pleasantly about everything the whole time, from flora and fauna to history and geography!

Visiting Death Valley was one of the best trips ever....especially having Ralph as the tour guide! Ralph was not only professional tour guide with good humor, he was also extremely knowledgeable about the place and just about anything to do with Death Valley. It was very obvious that he knew his stuff all around. Thank you, Ralph, for helping me with meeting this goal and making my 50th birthday special...!

Our Tour was fantastic! Ralph was an excellent tour guide. What he doesn't know about the desert or Las Vegas isn't worth mentioning! His tour was very informational and very entertaining. The breakfast and lunch box was delicious. We would certainly recommend Viator Tours, and especially Ralph as a a great way to see Death Valley. Thank you!

The whole trip pretty long, 14 hours. Two participants in our groups kept chatting and laughed loudly. We have difficulty hearing whenever the tour guide provides info during the journey. Wish that the tour guide had set guideline right from beginning of the tour.

Fantastic trip - made all the more enjoyable by Ralph our guide for the day. If there is something that Ralph doesn't know about Death Valley or indeed Las Vegas itself then it can't be worth knowing - a true fountain of all knowledge and delivered very humorously. Death Valley has such an amazing set of varied landscapes from snow capped mountains, salt pans, rocky deserts and sand dunes. We only touched a small area of the national park, but it left me wanting more and I will return on a future trip and hopefully spend more time there. Although very different in landscape, this trip exceeded expectations and certainly matched the Grand Canyon experience with the added bonus that it is a short jaunt outside of LV. Highly recommend.

Early pick up but no problem. Breakfast provided was ok. Plenty of stops and water was always available, which was very necessary in the park! Lots of information and some weird scenery, although all were interesting. Lunch taken at Furnace Creek was, as usual, fresh and tasty. After leaving the park we visited Rhyolite, which was not very exciting and I think could be better but that did not detract from our enjoyment of Death Valley and I would recommend this trip.

Our guide, Jake, was terrific. I cannot say that he left any stone un-turned as far as what we could possible fit in a 11 hour tour. I had contemplated renting a car and going it alone, I am so glad I took my wife's advise. There wasn't a question he couldn't answer or a topic he did not have command of. I had written down my bucket list of items to see and we hit them all._br/_ Don't let the cost scare you. When you think about a 2 hour there and back as well as breakfast and lunch, it is well worth the money.
