It was punctual, great trip except no stop on the bridge to really see The Hoover Dam. It was an other place where we stopped ,can not see anything. On the way back for our complain the bus stopped but is was already to dark and late.

There's no avoiding the fact that it's a Very Long Drive, but you certainly see lots of the Arizona countryside on the way. Our driver made me feel very safe and added interesting facts to the recorded commentary. Shame the Hoover Dam stop and videos have been removed from the journey. The IMAX film was good but barely enough time to see it plus eat lunch, so missed the opportunity to look in the gift shop at the National Geographic centre. The actual visit to the Canyon was stunning - would have preferred a little more time but appreciate it would have made the day even longer. The return hotel drop-offs were a little chaotic with some guests not really knowing which hotels they were staying at, which meant the rest of us had to sit on the bus whilst we navigated off-strip properties. Still, it's well worth doing for the amazing view, just pack snacks and a good book for the looong journey.

The trip was excellent and seeing the Grand Canyon is an experience of a lifetime. The only set-back was that Hoover Dam was closed for viewing it would have been nice to know that beforehand and the driver was going to stop at another viewpoint but ended up not making that stop.

The tour with Gray Line was terrible, we left our hotel at 6 where we until 8 we would try to be upsold to more expensive packages. Stopped at the worst stops, toilets were not clean. We stopped at subway for 25 minutes for dinner for 3 buses, clearly not enough time. Never booking gray line again!!

Great tour to see a sight you have to see to believe. Long day but relax and let the driver do the work. Plenty of stops to refresh and when you get there fantastic views, you cannot stop taking photo's.

Not going to lie, this is a long trip but well worth the trek. The view of this side of the canyon is my favourite by far. As a nature love, I love how the paths have winding trails with trees and rocks and you are closer to the edge of the canyon.

We did this tour with Greyline about a month ago. The Grand Canyon is amazing, though you have a top view looking down only. You do not enter the bottom for an up-close experience. The main Greyline Vegas tour I would rate a 2.5/5 for the following reasons: a The driver Ricardo made a few inappropriate comments including telling guests that booked the helicopter tour that there was an accidental helicopter crash a week prior where everyone died they didnt ask , b He told us to be at a designated pickup area and was late for 1.5 hrs without giving us a heads up. Not only was he late, but he took no responsibility for it. and c He was strongly pushing us to have a reststop at a specific Mr Sub giving the impression that he was getting some kind of favour out of this arrangement bus load of customers bought a lot of subs that day. I could go on but you get the idea. At the Grand Canyon I highly recommend you sign up for the Pink Jeep Tour for an extra 100/per person upgrade. You get a personalized experience in a jeep that holds no more than 8 people. Our Pink Jeep Tour Operator Chris was amazing and very knowledgeable. The Pink Jeep Tour gets a 5/5 rating in my opinion.

Very long day but from previous reviews we were ready for this! Upgraded to include pink jeep tour on the day to get different viewing points. Tour guide on jeep (Mark) superb. Great knowledge of the canyon and history and always willing to take photos for you. IMAX film not that good.

The best part about this trip was the upgrade to the pink jeep tour, which i do recommend if you go to the South rim. Other than that, I would not recommend this trip.

Review by:   Natalie L,    January 2018 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
I chose this tour because it offered 3 hours to explore the canyon on your own. We got 2 hours total, 40 minutes at Mather Point and 1 hour 20 minutes at Bright Angel Lodge. There was really no information at the drop off points, so we wandered around trying to see what was available. We accidentally found a trail down into the canyon, with 30 minutes left before returning to the bus. Trail information would have been helpful. We arrived at the Grand Canyon so late in the day 3pm that it was starting to get dark by 5pm, and our photos are filled with shadows. There was wasted time during the day, and getting to the park earlier would have been better. We were picked up at our hotel at 6:15am, then taken to the Gray Line station. Off that bus, into the building to hear about optional upgrades which was to make more money, then on another bus and left at 7:30am. The quick stop at Hoover Dam was a great photo opportunity. Then we stopped in Kingman, AZ at McDonalds. There was no reason for that stopit was wasted time. On to the Visitor Center, where we were herded into a food line. All food options listed weren't available, and there were no seats. We had to wait for a couple who did the helicoptor ride before we could leave. The views were great at the Canyon, but getting there an hour or 2 earlier would have been fantastic. On the way back to Las Vegas, we stopped in Kingman, AZ again. This time was for fuel, and the tiny gas station had a Subway where we could buy food. It was not big enough for the number of people on our bus. We returned to Las Vegas and went to the Gray Line station again, where we had to get off and onto another small bus for transport back to our hotel. I did like our bus driver, Ziggy. He was funny and shared some good information. The automated recording on the bus was also interesting, but cut off at odd times in the middle of the story. I'm glad we got to see the Grand Canyon, but I would not recommend this trip as a way to do it. There was too much time wasted, and not the 3 hours promised at the canyon.

This was an average tour. It's a Gray Line tour so everyone gets ushered to their information centre after hotel pickups. Then you queue to be handed your ticket for the day, it took an hour just to get people moving out of buses, into the building, and then back into different buses, which seemed like an awful waste of time. Once we were on our way, the tour itself was good, the bus comfortable. Our driver opted to stop by at the Hoover Dam AFTER the tour, the description said there is meant to be a photo stop, but we didn't do this since it was getting late and dark. In the dark, you only get to see the flood lights against the concrete dam, not the Colorado river. It wasn't much of a photo opportunity. Upon return to the Gray Line parking area, another driver took us to the hotels.

Except for the pink jeep tour we got the upgrade that was done by a very charming and knowledgable local guide William, everything else was MEDIOCRE! The bus driver was extremely rude, which partly could be explained by his poor command of English. He greeted us with the hi, welcome, and let me tell you, NO COMPLAINS! I'm just a driver! If it is too hot or too cold in a bus I can't do anything! Etc... Moreover, he decided to skip the 20 min stop at the Hoover Dam without any explanation. Later, when complaining to the office people they explained that it was to dark when we were coming back and therefore the diver skipped the stop. In a program, though, the HD stop was to be on the way to GC, not on the way back. He also decided to stop where it was convenient for him to get the gas rather than at Mc Donald's as stated. And, lastly the buffet lunch was the worst Chinese food ever!!!! Not edible! Any takeout from your local shopping mall or elsewhere would be considered fine dining. Plus, the manager of this enterprise was extremely rude, grabbing items from people's trays as only he understood what is included in a paid lunch and what's not. My advise to all, choose a different tour ... or, to make the hole trip worth time and money, definitely take a jeep tour of the rim and bring your own food folks!_br/_ Disappointed New Orleanian!

Having been to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon previously I decided choose this tour as I had read very positive things. It was also my parents first time to see the canyon and I wanted them to have an experience they would never forget. Unfortunately they will never forget it but for all the wrong reasons. _br/_ We were aware the day was a long one but thought the time at the canyon would make it all worthwhile. After being picked up just after 6am on a lovely comfortable coach we were taken to the Gray Line station. We were sent into the centre where we were told about optional upgrades seem to be all about making more money, then on another bus that didn't leave until after 7.30am. This second coach was awful. Very uncomfortable and the windows made so much noise that I was thankful I had brought headphones with me...unfortunately not everyone was so lucky. The coach was also packed to capacity...and we were late leaving to ensure no seat was left unfilled! _br/_ Our first stop was the Hoover Dam but unfortunately the stop the tour was due to take was closed. The bus driver then just pulled into the side of the road for people to at least be able to take a photo disappointing but out of the drivers control. The next stop was in Kingman, AZ at McDonalds. No reason to stop here waste of everyones time._br/_ We drove for the next few hours until we got to the Visitors Centre. We waited on the bus for everyone to get off as we had booked the helicopter tour as an optional extra. The bus driver told us we would get our packed lunch and he would drop us at the Helicopter centre. He dropped us at the centre but forgot to give us our lunch before driving off._br/_ The helicopter tour was amazing and we finally saw the Grand Canyon. This part of the tour was exceptional and would highly recommend. _br/_ Following this we were dropped back to the Visitors Centre and had to wait for our bus to pick us up to bring us to the South Rim. We received our lunch at this stage finally. We probably had approx 1hr 45 mins at the Grand Canyon to walk around and explore. We all really enjoyed this. _br/_ On the way back to Las Vegas, we stopped again at a tiny gas station it was not big enough for the number of people on our bus, never mind the other buses that also stopped. _br/_ The journey back to Vegas was long and made even longer when an accident took place ahead. Traffic came to a standstill for nearly 2 hours. This was made even worse by our bus driver who exclaimed we could be here hours Ive had times where accidents take over 7 hrs to clear! Just what you want to hear after being on a coach for over 14hrs._br/_ Overall I would not recommend this trip to anyone. From the moment we left in the morning, until we arrived back after mid-night, our bus driver constantly spoke over the intercom, rambling on about things we did not need to hear. He was of no help when the accident took place ahead of us just made the journey feel like it would never end. As we neared Las Vegas he started talking about tips and how much was appropriate. When he wasnt speaking we had an automated voice over that seemed to cut out randomly in the middle of telling us information. Again very annoying. _br/_ As we were so late in returning our bus driver had to be changed. Instead of just changing drivers we all had to exit and get onto another coach. The drop offs to the hotels took over an hour. By the end of the trip our patience was wearing thin. We had been picked up just after 6am..finally made it to our hotel at 12.30am.

I booked just the bus tour but I was able to upgrade it and include the jeep tour very easily on the day. The tour was excellent and I was glad I upgraded to the Jeep tour as the guide took us to some great secluded spots where we were able to get some great pictures and view the sunset which was a fantastic experience. I gave this tour 5 stars and that is because I did not feel it was fair to mark it down due to travel time. However before booking you should consider that this is a very long day. I had to get up before 6am and it was after 10.30pm when I was dropped off at the hotel. I knew it would be a long day before I booked but I elected for the south rim because its the deepest part of the canyon and considered to be more spectacular. If the travel time is not a problem for you then you should definitely choose the south rim, however, if it is an issue then there are plenty of shorter west rim tours available.

Absolutely spectacular sight. Although be warned very long day. 6.15 am pick up and return at 9pm. Also it is very cold at the canyon. You are not pre warned of this dress appropriately. Time wasted by grayline and then rushed to eat and use the toilet by the guide form the remainder of the trip

Amazingly enjoyable tour, though a very long day. Returned to hotel after 10PM. Am glad we took the time, since I've only viewed Grand Canyon from airplane. My Tablet Front Screen is a photo of the Canyon captured in a photo, reminding me of the power and magnificence of our Creator's hand.

this was a very long trip. We fell for the upgrade for an additional 100. it's all a scheme to milk more money out of you, but the small passenger van was better than large tour bus so we did it. The drive is quite long and since having been to the West Rim after this and on the skywalk. I'd skip this portion of the Grand Canyon. We enjoyed it indeed, but you don't get to spend much time there before you must return for the long ride back. The film they show could be eliminated as it's outdated and boring. i'd recommend driving to the west rim from Vegas, only 2 hours. The south rim is OK if you wanna do the whole tour guide thing, but it could be better.

This tour was a very long day out but it was worth it to see the magnificent Grand Canyon and also the Hoover Dam. The bus was comfortable and the drivers commentary was interesting and informative and we learned a lot about the local region. We also enjoyed the IMAX Cinema feature film about the Canyon._br/_ Our only complaint would be that all the meal and drink breaks were quite rushed and the meal break on the journey home was at a Subway shop with dirty toilets and dubious hygiene standards. We would have preferred a choice of food outlets as we had on the outbound journey. This was only a minor nuisance and did not detract from the unforgettable experience.

The bus was late picking us up at the hotel. There were 5 full tour bus's from Grayline tours that day going to the Grand Canyon. They stopped a few hours in at a Mc Donald's and said we had 20 minutes to get a snack and use the restroom. There were a couple of hundred people trying to use the restroom, and of course they were out of food. When we arrived at Canyon for lunch again there were several hundred people trying to eat and shop and get in to the IMAX movie, and the food was less that lunch at public school quality. The Grand Canyon was great, the best part was taking the Pink Jeep tour. Coming back we stopped at convenience store Subway for 25 minutes, the line at the restrooms was unbearable again, and the food below standard. Right before this last stop they played an announcement about how the bus driver should be tipped by everyone between 5 and 10 a person. Begging for tips is just plain wrong. So to rap this up from the time they picked me up at my hotel on the strip and then got me back to my hotel it was 17 hours. Would not go again, next time rent a car, drive to the Canyon and then take the Pink Jeep Tour.

This was by far the best tour, well worth the money!!! Enrique was our tour guide/bus driver and was fabulous he knew the canyon very well, he made us all feel special... I loved this tour and would highly reccommend this tour. It is long but so worth it._br/_ We made two stops on our way to the canyon to stretch our legs, get food or go to the bathroom. There is a bathroom on the bus also_br/_ Then we stopped for lunch and to see a movie on the grand canyon, I would not reccommend the movie it wasn't that good and it made us have to rush for our lunch included, we ended up eating it on the bus. Overall this trip was wonderful!!!!

Viewing the Grand Canyon was an experience one should have in their lifetime however this tour was disappointing. We added the Pink Jeep excursion to get to travel to the rugged turrain of the canyon. Our jeep guide was informative and friendly however we just drove on the regular roads, something we could have done in our car. This was not worth the added cost. Coming from Vegas we spent a total of approximately 9 hours on the bus.

Excellent tour!!!! The amazing views brought tears to my eyes. I would recommend this tour to anyway who does not want to do the driving themselves. Being on the bus allows time to sit back and just enjoy. The driver takes you to all the top viewing locations for picture perfect opportunities. I preferred the South Rim over the other rims as I felt the views were much better longer trip but well worth it. The only negative side to this tour is the time spent at the departure location. After the first pickup, you still have to assemble at a second location where they round everyone up like cattle according to which rim you are going to and it takes a bit of time. The other down side is the time spent at the lunch location/souvenir store. The lunch is not the greatest but it's food when youre starving suggestion: bring your own snacks if you can. This trip could be a lot shorter if they would adjust the time spent during the roundup and cut the lunch time in half. Other than that, it was a great trip and purchasing the tickets through Viator was super easy and reasonably priced.
