We like taking Hop on Hop Off tours in various countries we travel to, however, the sound system on these buses need updating as many did not work or were scratchy.

The blue and routes gave good access to most areas of interest. The experience was marred by four things: there was neither a bus nor a guide at the terminus for the starting time of 09:30, only once did the audio work, a stop on the map was between two bus stops with no indication as to the right one and the buses stopped at 17:00 not 7:00pm as on the voucher.

Always a must do for us - this tour covers the whole city - the only downside was that there was not much commentary during the tour. Felt the city had a lot more to tell! Also they played a lot of Fado music - ok if you like that sort of thing.

of the worst, nobody warned us that Lisbon and even more the tourist areas are the work area of the pickpockets, you as part of the service should warn tourists how dangerous Lisbon is

Great way to know Lisbon. We took both the red line and blue line and we went all over Lisbon. A must stop is at the Belém tower and eat the Pastel de Belém, highly recommended!

We did not have good luck in Lisbon with the tour. We had trouble finding the pick up site, we then had trouble getting on the green line which was the one which would take up to most of the sites. We never did get to half of the places we wanted to see.

Hop-On and Hop-Off Tour is the way to get around Lisbon! It stops at all the sites in the city. Was much easier to get around with the bus as well. Being able to get our ticket via Viator saved us time and money. We just love the Hop-On and Hop-Off bus!

Love these hop-on hop-off buses - I ride the full circuit first to see what's 'on offer' then chose where I want to get off for the next circuit. On other city tours the ticket has covered 48 hours. For Lisbon it was only 24, which would mean a full on day if you wanted to see everything, so I booked an extra half day guided tour which meant I didn't miss anything.

Whenever I go to a new city and have limited time I try to do one of these bus tours. It is a great way to learn about the city in a short amount of time. I usually have a little note pad to jot down points of interest I would like to visit later. Of course you can get on and off as much as possible, but for me, I would rather not get off the first trip around. The only complaint I have is that some of the audio did not work so often i had to keep changing seats to find one that worked.

Have used City Sightseeing many times and always been pleased. This was not a good experience. The red route is more interesting than the blue route but there is not enough commentary and that which there is was drowned out by loud background music. The blue route was a shambles with the bus top numbers not matching the map, the bus sped through the route and did not stop at any of the stops anyway. There were no announcements. This did not affect us but some people who had wanted to get off at specific stops, failed to do so. An official at the end of the trip said the mismatch of numbers was because of the development going on in the city. This should have been explained when the tickets were picked up or as you got on the 'blue route bus'.

The bus tour audio guides weren't working at every seat. The blue line wasn't interesting and it was a long way in between points of interest. The red line once we were on it took us throu the best parts of Lisbon. Major improvement should happen to this company!! Put some money back into the upkeep of equipment.

The red bus was good. Lots of information and a quick moving tour. The blue bus, not so much. Very little narration. Both times though the drivers are very jerky and make the ride dangerous if you need to move

Lisbon Hop-On Hop Off was the poorest H-O I have experienced. There was NO AUDIO working at all, thus no tour information for the sights. There are now 3 routes, and the green line was not included in our ticket, nor was there any way to have included the green route when we booked. Green route was the old town, so we were disappointed in not getting to this area. We could only ride the RED route, and the long BLUE route would have stopped before we could get through it. Short hours, no tour information. Stank.

I had 2.5 hours to take the hop on hop off bus tour I booked. I checked the available hop on hop off locations. I arrived at the Orient train station. I could not find any sign of where to catch the bus. I asked several people. I waited 30 minutes and never saw any buses. I decided to take a taxi to the main start location Marches do Pombal. Along the way I saw a small citysightseeing bus with people waiting. I got out of the taxi and joined them. They had been waiting for 30 minutes already. The small bus refused to take us saying we had to wait for the big tour bus. People were VERY angry. I waited 20 more minutes and gave up. I chose to take a walking tour instead of waiting for non-existent buses. In the 2.5 hours I was in the city I never once saw a full-size citysightseeing bus. And the driver of the small bus was quite rude to the 10 people asking him to contact the company with their concerns. I will NEVER suggest this tour to anyone. I paid 22 US and never set foot on a bus. Plus I spent 20 euros on taxis to try to find the bus and then return to my original starting point.

I have used this service in other cities before which were fantastic but I must admit that using it here in Lisbon was a little disappointing. The staff in fairness were nice but the first bus we used on March 28th had problems so it needed to pull into its main starting area. We had to wait a half an hour for another bus then 10 minutes into the trip the bus driver again had to bring us back as the audio wasn't working properly due to the channels playing 2 languages at the one time. It was 11am before we got started properly considering we were trying to get on the road from 9.30am.
