Private Tour of Lisbon, Estoril Coast and Sintra - UNESCO World Heritage Site
Lisbon, Portugal
If you have only a day to discover the city, indulge in a private tour of Lisbon combined with a visit to Sintra, a World Heritage town nestled beautifully in an array of hills, and a drive through the breathtaking coastline of Estoril, a popular seaside resort area. This private tour is the perfect combination if you are short on time - in just one day you’ll see the best of coastal Portugal, ensuring you'll receive personalized attention from your guide.
Start your private tour from Lisbon by exploring Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed town with fantastic architecture. Wander through its narrow streets before heading to the top of the mountain to visit the 19th-century extravaganza of King Ferdinand - the Pena National Palace, known for its rare combination of Romanticist architectural styles and colors.
Then relax during a journey along the Estoril Coast. Your starting point will be the small historical center of Cascais, where the fishing tradition of the past still exists today. From here you will continue along the coast and beautiful beaches of Estoril, gazing at the big blue Atlantic Ocean as you make your way back to Lisbon.
In Lisbon, you’ll spend the afternoon exploring all the busy main squares that make this city a gorgeous European capital. At the top of the highest hill of Lisbon, you will find the Castle of Saint George, with an astonishing view of Lisbon and the old Moorish quarter of Alfama.
Lisbon is nowadays just the capital of Portugal, but it is one of the world’s oldest cities in the world and was once the center of a huge empire that comprised half the planet! Many of the adventurous Portuguese explorers throughout history departed from the next area that you will visit - the district of Belém. Belém’s most famous features are the 16th-century Tower of Belém and the Jerónimos Monastery. You’ll also see Monument to the Discoveries, erected in 1960 to honor the 500th anniversary of the death of Henry the Navigator.
Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! I loved the places, the guide and the pace.

Way too much money for what we received. We even had to pay our admission into the sites which I assumed was part of the tour. The day before we booked a tour through our hotel which was basically the same thing we got through you for $80Euro per person compared to 209 with you. I had used this service in San Fransisco and was so satisfied but this was Ridiculous!!!!

Great tour with the two charming Anna (guide) and Richarch (driver) especially Anna is very fluent with both English and French. I know she is fluent with other languages too. These two folks were very patient, professional and saw to every details to make sure everyone on my group comfortable. Anna's knowledge about history and places we visited is terrific. Richard's skillful driving a big new Mercedes van thru very narrow and winding streets uphill was so amazing! Like others, we did expect a lot of walking to historical places here, Richard knows the roads too well and did all his best to get parked or stopped so that we could descend near the attractions' entry gates as much as possible. My old Mom was happy because this saved her from knee pains. Great job, Anna and Richard! Everyone is missing you guys!

Good tour, beautiful palaces, but we did not spend any time in Sintra. We only drove through Sintra (2 minutes) on our way to Pena Palace. This should really be a 10+ hour tour to be able to see everything.

fantastic. Philippa was very knowledgeable and tailored the tour to our needs, We also had a driver Carlos who was wonderful and took special care of my 12 year old son who gets car sick. He let him sit on the front seat and talked to him the whole time.

This is quite simply the best tour my family and I have ever taken. We saw three very different palaces and got a feel for each one that allowed us to really understand their place in Portuguese history. We have a 13 and a 15 year old, so you can imagine that the idea of spending all day touring palaces was not their idea of a fun time. However, after spending a week in Lisbon they told us that their favourite times on the trips were the times we spent with our guide. Highly recommended.

Three of my friends and I did this tour last week. Our guide picked us up in front of our cruise ship on time and spent the day exploring Cascais, Estoril Coast, Sintra and Portugal. It was our favorite port on the cruise, and we fell in love with Portugal. He took us to a wonderful place for lunch and made sure we got to stop at some specific places in Lisbon that we requested. Just wanted to let you know it was a wonderful tour. We have used Viator tours in the past, and we will definitely be back for more. Thanks!

Our travel consultant was prompt and wisely used all 8 hrs of our day. She was extremely knowledgeable and made our one day in Lisbon thoroughly enjoyable! She even took us back to a shop so that we could purchase a tiled picture that we had spotted earlier in the day. We had never taken a private tour before, so we were understandably nervous about our purchase. Upon meeting our guide we knew immediately that we had made the right decision. She was highly professional in her dress and mannerisms. She had impeccable driving skills. We would highly recommend this company and tour to future customers.

The van was on time when he picked us up at our hotel and we were pleasantly surprised to see that we had our fantastic tour guide from the day before. One of the pluses of this tour was our guide, not only was he knowledgeable but also very friendly and spoke perfect English. Because this was a private tour he offer us the flexibility of pretty much customizing the tour by determining the length of time we wanted to spend at each place visited. At the Pena Palace it started to sprinkle and our guide shows up with 5 umbrellas - one for each one of us. Inside the palace they need better organization to move people through the different rooms, especially when it rains and everybody runs inside. We highly recommend the tour, which in my opinion is well worth the price.
