'Doctor Who' TV Locations Tour of London

London, United Kingdom

See the sci-fi sights of London on a 2.5-hour ‘Doctor Who’ TV locations tour, led by a local guide. While exploring central London neighborhoods such as Borough and the Southbank, listen to anecdotes and stories about the ever-popular series and, of course, about the Doctor himself! See Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre alongside with other top London attractions used as filming sites.

After meeting your guide in central London, set off on your Doctor Who tour of the city. While much of the everyday filming for the sci-fi series took place in Cardiff, many iconic Doctor Who scenes were filmed on the streets of England’s capital. See a selection of the best while exploring neighborhoods like Borough, Southwark, the City of London and the South Bank.

As you walk, your guide will entertain you with fun snippets of trivia about the intergalactic time lord, who travels back in time exploring the universe. Learn about his TARDIS – the 1960s-style London police box used as a time-traveling machine – and hear about key characters such as Clara Oswald and Madam Vastra.

Visit sites used recently like Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, which featured in The Shakespeare Code episode, as well as filming locations from older episodes such as Remembrance of the Daleks, filmed in 1988. Stop for photos in John Adams Street, where the Prime Minster's house was recreated for the show and recollect the episode when the iconic building was infiltrated by the ruthless Slitheens – a family of criminal extraterrestrials from the planet Raxacoricofallapatorius.

Hear insider gossip about the cast, learning little-known secrets about actors who have played the coveted role of the Doctor. Chat about popular faces like Matt Smith, David Tenant and Christopher Eccleston, and compare them with earlier actors such as William Hartnell who starred in the first-ever episode.

Having explored the key filming sites around London, work your way to Westminster Station where your tour finishes.

Really enjoyed the tour, our tour guide was quite funny, and very informative. I even learned some things about Doctor Who I didn't know, so that was a bonus. I'm glad I did this tour with a friend, and I would recommend it to any DW fan.

The tour guide was a total Dr. Who NERD!! Highest possible compliment there was a movie being filmed but he was able to move us around and give us a few insights into how things are filmed. Definitely a spring or summer day tour but the guide was fantastic!! Since Dr. Who isn't really filmed in London there are only a few spots to really visit but once again the guide still made it interesting.

Our tour guide Jass is great! He is ture Doctor Who Fan. The tour not only visit DW's filming location but also London famous attractions. It is great to join this tour as I have more understanding about the history of the attraction and how it's related to DW. Love it!

Very nice tour but I was expecting the Tower of London to be on the itinerary, instead it was pointed out to us from the London bridge.

Paid for 3 tickets through Viator for a 10:30am Dr Who Walking Tour in London on Aug 4, 2017. Showed up at 10:34 few minutes late due to a train station closure--no one there. No one in the area--we looked all around, hoping to catch up--found two other walking tours but not this one. Called the customer service number listed on the vouchers only to get a recording that says this number does not receive incoming calls. I emailed the Viator later that day. The reply said it was our problem for being late, they do not know the tour route anyway nor how to contact the tour provider BritMovieTours, but if I'd like to PAY AGAIN they'd be happy to book us for a tour the next day. Yeah, right, like I'd give more money to a company with this kind of customer service. Over the course of the day they sent more emails, offering first a 25 then a 50 discount on re-booking. If they had room in the tour, why not just let us take the tour? We had already paid for it! I took the kids to the Dr. Who Museum instead out of the way but fun and booked with a DIFFERENT walking tour company whotourlondon for the next day where we received a private tour for about the same price as the Viator one. So, Viator/BritMovie Tour companies got to keep their money for providing nothing, but they have forever lost a customer. I'll never understand why companies spend so much money advertising to attract new customers and then treat their actual customers so poorly.

It was cool to visit some of the places where they shot the scenes, it was a large group so you have to stand closer to be able to hear. Not too much walking. Overall I will recommend to Whovians.

Craig our Tour Guide was AMAZING! He had so much information not only about Dr. Who but about the London area. I am glad we took this tour early in out trip to London because we had people travel in to meet us later and I kept saying to them, I learned that on our Dr. Who tour. It became a running joke but I will definitely consider this company for future tours on our return trips! THANK YOU!!

If youre a Dr Who fan you will love this tour. Dewi, our tour guide, was clearly a devoted fan and it showed in his attitude. He was entertaining and passionate in taking us through the different places in London where the series was filmed. Even if youre not a Dr Who fan I still would recommend this tour as you get to see a lot of places around London and Dewi also had a good knowledge of the general history of the areas covered.

The tour company Zook good care of me when I went to the wrong meeting point. I and #39;m glad I caught up to the group because I saw some interesting parts of London that are part of Doctor Who lore. The stories were great and the photos from the episodes really helped highlight the connection to the show

It was a good length, but I really don and #39;t care for old Doctor Who and I believe half was about that so that was a let down. The tour guide was really great.

I thought I knew everything there was to know about Doctor Who, but I was so wrong - David was a fountain of knowledge. I learned so much on this trip, and it was a blast sharing my love for Doctor Who with fellow fans from around the world in the city that made it all happen more than 50 years ago! Definitely worth every penny. Thank you David!

David was great -- funny, knowledgeable, and engaging. It was a beautiful walk through several neighborhoods and along the river, and we really got to geek out about Doctor Who and its connections to other shows (Sherlock, etc). We definitely recommend it!

Very well done tour. Informative and the guide did well keeping everyone together. Ask for a water or restroom stop if you need it, otherwise it's about a 3 hour tour including stopping and talking. Recommend sunscreen and a hat.

Took our grandson who is a big HP fan. He loved the tour and what made it so exciting was our guide, Nicola. She was so enthusiastic and told us some little known facts which made the tour so much more. Interesting. In fact because of her enthusiasm, our walking tour of Dr. Who didn't have the excitement that she gave the HP tour. And because it was a bus tour, we got to see lots of different sight and areas of the city.

This was a wonderful Doctor Who tour. There are some of the new series sites, but most are of the old series. Great for the old series fans.

Being Whovians, this was the tour we were most excited about taking while in London. Doctor Who features some great London landmarks, so we thought this would be an interesting way to see the highlights of London in the limited time we had available. While it was interesting enough, we didn't feel it really capitalised on what London offered. We also found ourselves going over much of the same ground as we had on the Harry Potter Walking Tour a couple of days earlier. _br/_ However, our biggest peeve was that the guide lost us. I was struggling with mobility a little due to an ankle injury and as we came down from a bridge slowly due to my injury onto the riverside where the London Eye is situated, our group disappeared into the crowd and we lost them. We would we think have been two-thirds of the way through the tour. _br/_ Altogether, a bit of a disappointment.

Interactive, informative and fun it was everything I was hoping to get out of a nerd culture experience In London, and it did a wonderful job of showing me the city with respect to what is of interest to me. I also found it to be a great way to connect with people of similar interest in a foreign country and I absolutely would go again. One of my personal highlights of London

Huge fun and lots of things I didn't know/ hadn't seen before. Lovely group as well, and Dallas was a fantastic guide. Great balance of old and new series stuff, and enjoyable I believe for über-nerds as well as casual viewers. Will definitely recommend this - and i really can't think why I waited so long to do it.

I booked this trip for two 14-year-old girls my daughter and her friend and they reported that it was lots of fun . . . and lots of walking, although they did take a bus at one point. Luckily, they had Oyster cards. The only difficulty was finding the meeting spot: the Caffe Nero in London Bridge Station isn't really a Caffe Nero it is a Nero Express -- a small takeaway shop -- and it isn't really near any particular track.

The meeting location was safe and well trafficked. Dallas, our tour guide was great and made it interesting even for those who where not fans of the show. My teenage Whovian's only critique is that she would have liked more references to the new series and doctors.

Our guide, Dallas, was so much fun and so informative. I booked this tour for my son and granddaughter and thought I was just going along for the walk. Dallas covered Dr. Who locations, engaged the whole group and also shared historical and hysterical stories . . . . all this and a walking tour of London!

Our guide Michael did a wonderful job. He has a great voice and was easy to hear in spite of the normal London background noise. But even he could not out duel a trash truck :-), Fortunately it left he he resumed. He was very knowledgeable and had lots of interesting stories related to the series. He walked at a good pace and everyone was able to keep up. In addition to the Doctor Who locations it was nice to see some of the historic sights of London and hear how they have fitted into the show along with some anecdotes about the historic locations themselves. I have never seen the show (Michael doesn't know this) but went with my grandson who is a fan of the show and still the tour was enjoyable.

I can't really rate it because I didn't get to see the tour. I miscalculated how long it would take changing trains and so forth to get there and was thirty minutes late. I didn't have any luck contacting anyone from your company either. Which I don't know if I have any recourse anyway. I missed it and I'm sad I did

A warning for this tour--it is a WALKING tour, and walk you do and lots of it. If you don't like walking, don't take this tour. That being said, Michael was a great source of information. He had knowledge of all of the Doctor Who Series, their actors, their locations, their histories. Although I was pooped, I enjoyed the tour._br/_ A suggestion about the meeting location, please be more specific about where to meet. We were not aware that Caffe Nero was a chain, and we wandered quite a bit near and in the London Bridge Station trying to find the correct Caffe Nero.

Went on the tour September 22, 2014. Aimee, that's her real name, was our guide and fantastic! Very knowledgeable about every thing Dr. Who. She even told us about where we could possibly see the Tenth Doctor, David Tennent, at his movie premier the following day. I was able to get down to the premier and get photos, autograph, and talk with him. This made my whole vacation!

Aimee was our very knowledgeable guide who led us on our tour. She provided great inside information about Dr. Who from the point of view of someone who has interacted with some of the cast memebers before and had a part in an episode. She shared a lot of interesting information and the tour route allows you to see many of the sights of London. Note-make sure you bring an Oyster or travel card as there is a short bus ride you take on the tour route. The tour was very enjoyable for Dr. Who fans of all ages and we would recommend it to others.

We were 10 minutes late due to a Tube delay and the tour left without us. I would have appreciated a call from the guide to tell us where we could meet along the way as we had paid for the walk in advance and were unable to find the group. Disappointed.

Great tour. Wandered through south London. The photo book was a great idea. It clearly identified the particular episode and site. Stories about the use of hay to hide cars n stuff was good. I'll have to go home and re-watch some episode to find the hay..
