Pros: The boat was nice, clean and roomy. The food was decent, not the best, but keeping in mind this is all on a boat, it was good. The champagne and wine were top notch, very good. The singer on the boat was wonderful - a very soft and welcoming voice. She sang almost the whole trip and had a wide range of songs from Motown to Abba, so there was something for everyone. She also went around to all the tables asking if there were any special celebrations which was kind, and she recognized them for the whole boat and the audience. You get to see lots of the London scenery and classic buildings along the Thames. Really great to get an idea of where things are by taking this cruise.

This was an excellent choice for us. Finding the pier was a bit challenging but once we were onboard, the host and servers were very attentive, considerate and entertain. The music was trendy for the group and the vocalist engaged the crowd. The food was very good, there was no skimping on the four courses or the champagne and wine that was included. The view of the city night lights was amazing.

Had a wonderful time. On the river at night is magical. Food okay, nothing special. No band like we signed up for, so we did not dance. Solo singer off and on. They chose the meal, I thought we had a choice of dishes, so food we could not eat was served. Weather cold but that was expected, and did not spoil our pictures! All in all, a nice experience.

We really didn't have a high expectation of this ... it was 'something to do' that night, but we were SURPRISED by a wonderful dinner and very entertaining show .. and some good talk with those seated around us. Definitely worth every penny.

This was great fun. London is not quite as picturesque as Paris, but this cruise accounts for that by providing a live singer. The food was decent and the boat was very comfortable. Also the service was great.

Me and my husband enjoyed our showboat dinner cruise! Food was good and wine was overflowing! There was dancing towards the last part of the cruise and the singer/host was quite funny and entertaining too. I was awed at seeing the Tower Bridge lit up at night.... what an awesome sight to behold!!!

Review by:   Regina B,    August 2017 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
I would NOT recommend this dinner cruise unless management makes requested changes! My sister and I arrived early to attend the cruise and were among the first guests to be seated. Apparently, there were assigned seats that required preferential booking to get a table by the window. We asked prior to sitting down if we could sit near the window and we were told seats were assigned but if there was a table available at the window that we could move to it after the boat left the dock. The boat was not full and there were many extra tables and at least two near the windows. The lead host was extremely rude and combative when asked about moving. He refused to allow us to move but gave permission for another group of male travelers to move to a window table. We were told that we used a 3rd party booking company and therefore, the option for a window seat was not requested. The food was cheap and bland. The seafood appetizer was frozen baby shrimp and a horrible tasting pate of some sort. The soup was reminiscent of canned Campbell's tomato soup. Also, the boat had to return to the dock so that they could bring on the main course because there is no onboard kitchen. Considering the boat was not sold out and the food was horrible, you would think that the lead host/server would have been more accommodating and polite. On a positive not, the singer was an absolute delight. She did an excellent job keeping us entertained, in addition to engaging the audience. However, because of the poor treatment of the lead host/server Anton?? I was unable to enjoy the festivities. All of the other personnel from the young girl who was at the ticket booth who directed us to the pier and even to the other hosts onboard were delightful. There was even one host/server Vlad who initially seated us and provided professional service throughout the trip. It was embarrassing to see that this young man was able to remain calm, professional and compassionate while his supervisor ranted and raved like a maniac. I definitely would NOT recommend this dinner cruise. Nonetheless, the tour operator also has daily cruised throughout the day that are seemingly very popular. Save your money and go to dinner somewhere else!

Dinner was good. Very friendly and prompt staff. Changing drink requests was very easy without a fuss. It was a really nice cruise lovely to see the shoreline first in daylight and in dark on the way back. The entertainer was very nice. A really nice night!

Dinner and service great. Music very good. Enjoyed this very much. My husband doesn't eat fish so they changed his salad to plain greens. He also doesn't drink wine so they traded it for a few beers. He was happy.

Great food, entertainment and very hospitable staff .... the lights of London were good however the windows on the boat needed to be cleaned or replaced to enable the true appreciation of London @ night

This was such a lovely event! The staff was amazing and the entertainer had an amazing voice! The only suggestion would have been for the main entree - they should have had more than one option as it wasn't as amazing as the rest of the event.

Efficient staff got the long queue moving when the boat docked at appointed time. The cruise itself was excellent, though perhaps a little better later in the year May - October? when the first part of the journey would be in daylight. Food was good, with ample helpings and the red wine was also good. Entertainer singer provided a brief commentary of what we were passing but it could have been better. He sang a variety of show songs and played good range of dancing music. Cruise finished about 11pm. An excellent way to spend an evening or to celebrate a special event. Pier is next to Westminster tube station.

Prompt boarding and well organised check-in process. Comfortable seating and great views of the riverside. We booked a group of seven. The tables are fixed, and seat four each, so our group was split, which for a celebratory dinner was not ideal. _br/_ The menu was great - food well prepared and well presented. We had a gluten-free guest in our group, who was well catered for. Table service was OK - a few issues with new / untrained staff, but ironed out during the evening. Polite and efficient table service._br/_ The 'cabaret' was mediocre with some canned backing tracks and a few live songs, but mostly canned music. Either the sound system or operator, or both, need tossing overboard. The distorted and overly loud music annoyed a large number of people and made conversation impossible at times. My advice would be 'just turn it down a bit!' and the sound system might actually sound reasonable.

We would definitely recommend this dinner cruise and go again! The food was delicious and well presented. There is a vegetarian option that you can arrange at time of booking. I overlooked that fact and emailed the tour operator who immediately responded and took care of it for us. We had the cruise that included 1/2 bottle of wine per person they offered a very nice of option of either 2 beers or 4 sodas if you did not want the wine. The wine was good quality and they offered a nice selection of beer choices. The service was excellent and the entertainment was first rate. The scenery is beautiful cruising the Thames River and the cruise took the full 3 hours.

I have booked this tour for my husband's birthday. It was very nice and lively boat. We had a table sharing with other couple who also celebrating birthday and had nice time with them.As one of the window seats were empty we choose to move to have better view of city. Friendly staff, better view on top of the boat. Only thing is there is no option in Viator site to select food preference as we are vegetarians the staff over the boat advised to specify the food choice while booking the trip. But there is no option to select food preference over this site. But overall satisfactory. Food was not bad.

A little disappointed we were packed in like sardines and couldn't hear each other speak. The singer was late starting and wasn't so good and didn't sing many songs from Musicals. Fantastic concept, everyone on board made you very welcome and special. Food was delicious and the views were awesome.

The Showboat dinner cruise was a great find but with some minor issues which took away from what I expected. If you are looking for a 3 hour dinner cruise with music, dancing and excellent food then this cruise is a home run. The ship is smaller than other dinner cruises that I've taken my wife on in NY/NJ but I kinda liked the intimacy, not too many people. It was our anniversary and we were probably the only people dancing but that was cool as well. The singer was excellent and dedicated a song for us to dance to and she picked our wedding song without me telling her which was amazing. The only issue I had was that I had mentioned to the cruise company days in advance that it was our anniversary and I wanted to do something special. They had an optional package with a cake and balloons for L39 which was steep but what the hey, we only celebrate once a year. I also ordered a bottle of Prosecco for L29. When we first stepped aboard the fellow who was checking us in noticed the comments about what I had ordered and after I winked and told him that it was a surprise anniversary cruise he spills the beans. Oh well, so much for a surprise. They were supposed to serve the Bottle of Champagne so when they didn't in a decent amount of time I went over to the same guy who was running the show and asked when he was going to serve the champagne and don't forget the balloons. He shows me a package of un inflated balloons and asks me if he should blow them up by mouth. I was getting a little upset at this point and told him to forget the balloons. They finally served the cake as we were heading in and never served the champagne. I told him as we were pulling in that I wanted a refund on the bottle and he said that since I had purchased it from them in advance that it was mine to take home. I left it there and told him that I would contact his company to request a refund. So the moral of the story here is that if you don't need them to do anything other than drive the boat and serve what's on the menu it's a fine evening. But don't ask for anything else as they don't seem to be able to handle it, nor do they really care.

Don't book with Viator on this one go directly to City Cruises and book there. Viator doesn't allow you to book a window seat! Didn't know that until we got on the boat big disappointment. Rushed down to the boat for no reason. Food was fine, sights good. I only did this because I'd never done a dinner cruise in London before would not do it again.
