Tower of London Entrance Ticket Including Crown Jewels and Beefeater Tour
London, United Kingdom
Enjoy faster entrance to the UNESCO-listed Tower of London, one of London's most popular attractions. Bypass the long lines at the main ticket office, and explore this mighty complex, established in 1066. Check out the White Tower, Traitors’ Gate and Tower Green, where Anne Boleyn was beheaded in 1536; visit the awe-inspiring Crown Jewels; and see the legendary ravens. Once inside, explore independently, or take a complimentary Yeoman Warder ‘Beefeater’ tour or audio-guided tour (own expense). Upgrade to include admission to two other London palaces: Hampton Court and Kensington Palace.
Make your own way to the Tower of London on the banks of the Thames River. With your entrance ticket, Bypass the long lines at the main ticket office, and head through the group entrance and security into this imposing palace-fortress.
Built by William the Conqueror in 1066, the Tower has a dark 1,000-year history as a royal palace, prison and execution place, as well as a royal mint and armoury. Today, it still stores the British monarch’s Crown Jewels, just as it has done since 1303.
Once inside, explore independently or choose to take an optional audio-guided tour (own expense) or complimentary tour led by a Yeoman Warder or ‘Beefeater’, one of the ceremonial guards. The 1-hour Yeoman-led tours leave from inside the entrance every 30 minutes until the mid-afternoon, and offer a compelling insight into the tower’s history and sites.
See the brooding ravens as you walk around and be swept up by the grim but fascinating stories of the turrets, chambers and buildings around you. Visit the main, White Tower, to see its Royal Armouries exhibits, and enter the Bloody Tower, reputed to be where the ‘Princes in the Tower’ were murdered by an unknown hand in around 1483.
See Traitors’ Gate, through which the arrested Anne Boleyn was brought by boat from the Thames River. Then, walk to Tower Green where she was beheaded in 1536 on the orders of Henry VII, and where a string of monarchs and traitors also met a grisly end.
Step back to Tudor times at the Medieval Palace, where recreated medieval interiors detail comfortable lifestyles of Tudor monarchs such as Henry VIII, and stretch your legs with a Wall Walk, strolling along the massive encircling walls to discover more sites.
Lastly, don’t miss the Crown Jewels, the royal regalia and gems that symbolize the British monarchy. Join the separate queue to gaze at these sparkling exhibits, including St Edward’s Crown, used at coronations since 1661, and the legendary Koh-i-Noor diamond, the 105.6-carat diamond given to Queen Victoria in 1849.
Having explored as much as you wish, take your leave and make your own way back home or to your hotel.

A huge irritation to have to exchange our printed tickets for regular tickets from the group ticket office. office didn't open til 10am (when the gate opened) so it was a complete waste of time getting there early. What's the point of buying ahead if you still have to wait in the ticket line??

Yes, yes, yes! The lines for this tour is so long! The best thing we did is buy our tickets with the tour guide! I'm so happy we did it. It was filled with rich history,

This was the best! The Beefeaters have the knowledge and tell the stories with such zeal and zest! I would say that anyone that doe not pay for the entire experience is truely missing out on the details that are what you go for.

Great tour, but my recommendation is to get there early and head straight for the Crown Jewels before a line forms.

Awesome place, make sure to take the tour with the guards.
Review by: burke25, April 2018
This was great - very straightforward and easy to pickup our tickets. You are on your own to look around. We waited about 30 minutes in line to see the crown jewels. We did not do the Beefeater tour as it was outside and raining very steadily.

We really enjoyed touring the Tower of London and taking in all of the history that is there. The Beefeater tour was great. John was our guide and he is very knowledgable and made the tour so interesting!

Beefeater tour was hilarious and made the trip to Tower of London memorable. The tour is the only way to access the chapel there and afterwards you can see the Crown Jewels and the rest of the fortress on your own.

Riveting historical location! A must see in London! Beefeaters guides add to the experience.

We actually didn't participate in the Beefeater Tour, but we did get the audio guide and spent several hours at the Tower of London. You can easily spend 3-4 hours here if you take it leisurely and see everything. The Crown Jewels are amazing, but there are many other attractions at this location that you shouldn't miss in your rush to see the jewels!

My wife and I visited this historical beautiful London attraction in March on a cold windy day. Do your self a favor and plan at least one to two hours at the spectacular site! We were lucky enough to take one of the frequent BEEFEATER tours free that occurs on the hour and I highly recommend it as they are an amazing host and give you a true flavor of all of the history. Wish I could remember the name of our Yeoman Warder who conducted a wonderful tour but a photo is included. Loved the Ravens and seeing the Crown Jewels!

Our Tower of London Experience was so enjoyable. We toured in the morning to avoid the crowds. The highlight was to view the Crown Jewels. The exhibit is shown well and the moving flat escalator keeps everyone moving along. You can double back to see the exhibit again or stand on the elevated platform. I highly recommend purchasing a ticket in advance, touring early in the morning and enjoying the Crown Jewels first and then viewing the rest of the Tower. It was also enjoyable to walk across Tower Bridge and then a short bus ride to Boroughs Market.

The Tower of London is a fun place - it really is. There are the Queens bejeweled crowns which if you looked carefully, you will see again on the Telly when she opens parliament or subsides at various state functions. There are the ravens and the rooms of torture, the bed chambers of previous kings with narrow stone stairways for rushed departures. And the green grassy lawn which marks the beheading of the delicate and devious Anne Boleyn, while somewhere nearby a ghostly remnant of Thomas Cromwell unsuccessfully wills a do-over of lifes choices . Clean restrooms and plenty of area for kids to explore. Good value I think in the pricing of entry tickets.

Terrible sleet and snow weather day which presented some unsafe walking conditions since there were very little preventative measures taken by the employees. I only saw the Crown Jewels.

This was fine but people who got there with me got in before me by just going to the entrance. Maybe it was the time of year. The ticket pick up was not that efficient.

Our AM destination was The Tower of London. Oh yes, the day was drizzly again. That makes two days in a row now. At the Tower of London, we saw the Crown Jewels and learned about the Tower ravens. There is a mythology or superstition that if the ravens fly away or otherwise leave, the Crown will fall and Britain with it. No wonder most of the ravens are now captive. Those clever Brits leave nothing to chance. The highlight of The Tower of London though had to be the Beefeaters tour. The first time we started the tour, we actually got lost. That however turned out to our advantage because the first tour group got the rain-shortened version. The second tour group the one we stayed with got the full, funny tour around the grounds along with some interesting, gruesome and humorous history. At the end of the tour we stepped into the Chapel of St. Peter and learned about torture techniques, dreadful deaths and the abusive royal power that occurred through much of the 16th century. Inside the chapel we even saw the final resting place of Anne Boleyn, Sir Thomas More, The Earl of Arundel and Robert Devereux. Before leaving the Tower Bridge area, we took quite possibly the best family selfie ever with the Tower Bridge in the background.

The Beefeater Tour was informative and entertaining, I highly recommend the tour as it is excellent. My husband and I found our Beefeater tour guide to be so friendly, knowledgable and helpful. He brought to life the history of the grounds. His sense of humor and dramatic presentation made the tour worth every penny we spent.

Yeoman Warder/Beefeater Lawrence was a fantastic guide! He was very knowledgeable, informative, with the right amount of humor and clever sarcasm. So glad we took this tour! Highly recommended, and the skip-the-line ticket was well worth it! Thank you!

Be sure to catch a guided tour, the Yoemans are fantastic! Don't miss out on this historic Castle, Crown Jewels and the beautiful views of Tower Bridge. Viator vouchers were easy to get and change in at the gates for tickets.

This was my second time on this tour, and I really just love the Beefeater portion of the tour. I could listen to their tours all day, every day. They're so funny and so touching, and so good at their jobs! We accidentally ran into our guide after the tour, as he was walking his dog in the moat of the Tower of London we stopped to watch the dog chasing a bird. He was super personable, and just lovely.

I have done this tour many times because the Beefeater guide is always so much fun and interesting. Our guide, Billy, did not disappoint. We saw the Crown Jewels with hardly any line and visited the armoury and learned something new. Worth the price.

The Tower or London is an awesome site to visit, so rich in history and available to the public to take in as much as they want and varied with so many towers all with their own story to tell. Having just read the War of the Roses, i felt the history even more as familiar sites and names had a relevance. Will definitely revisit to catch up as so much to see.

Fun and educational. No need for anything more. Just get in the door and find the beefeater. They give a tour of the whole tower while explaining the history and even explaining why they are called beefeaters.

The Tower of London was very interesting, but I thought the Beefeater tour would be a longer portion of the experience. However, the Beefeater we had was knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and funny.
