Not value for money, you can simply hike by yourself as it is very simple and relatively short distance._br/_ The Hollywood sign is very far, you will not get social media worthed post picture except you have super expensive pro camera. I use samsung S9 and its still quite bad because its simply too far and to make the matter worse the guide was rushing, so its very inconvenient when you try to make good picture.

I am not a hiker...but I loved this adventure. Parking can be tricky so arrive early. But know that it is easy to find the front of the Greek theater and the guides are on time and ready to greet you. We had a large number of us this past Saturday, so we were split into two groups. We had Kate. She was FANTASTIC!! She encouraged us to know each other, ask questions and have a great hike. She told amazing stories, pointed out great landmarks, and just made for an enjoyable hike. I will be recommending this hike and Kate to my fellow travelers and locals. We are from LA and decided to play tourist for the day. Kate and the Hike to see the sign did not disappoint. My kids (15 and 11) we not in the mood to do this adventure until they got going with Kate and now want to take their cousins. I just cannot say thank you enough and how lucky we were to get Kate.

The tour was great from start to finish - my guide Megan was great company on this hike, with loads of cool facts about Hollywood and LA, and also a great photo taker! We also had the chance to visit the observatory and see Tesla’s coil, which is well worth a visit. I would 100% recommend this tour!

I had such a great time on this tour. Steven is an awesome guide. He gave us a lot of information about the Los Angeles area and Griffith Park... and Nikola Tesla. He gave us a short tour of the Griffith Observatory after the hike ended. The hike is not too difficult and a lot of fun. Lots of photo opportunities and incredible views. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Los Angeles.

We were not sure what to expect when we booked this tour however we were 100 pleased that our knowledgeable guide brought the Griffith park history to life. Our guide DW was enthusiastic and had obviously researched the content of the tour in an amazing amount of detail. The tour was perfectly paced and the viewing points DW took us to were simply stunning.DW was so friendly and took an interest in our background and went above and beyond what we would expect from a guide, even to the extent of allowing us to use his phone as a mobile hot spot to arrange an Uber and remain with us until the cab arrived. 5 star tour!!!

Hike was great, views were gorgeous. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star was because tour guide Andrew couldn't remember the stories for the tour and kept checking his cell phone for the facts. I would think after 3 months of telling these stories he would remember them. Then when I asked him a question he spoke to me as if I were a child, and then,he rushed me out of the gift shop, I had only been in there, not even five minutes.

I took the morning hike, and it was a very enjoyable experience. Our guide Max was great at setting a pace that wasn't too fast and allowing us time to take photos of the gorgeous views. Had my very first sighting of the Hollywood sign on this tour! You can no longer hike right up to the sign, but you'll definitely be able to take some nice photos of it as well as the surrounding Los Angeles and Hollywood areas. I ramped up just over 10,000 steps on the hike, so those of you counting steps will be able to get in your daily quotient during this tour. :

We had a good time but time was an issue. We arrived at 9:45 am as requested. Our entire group was there by 10 however we did not begin the hike until 10:45. By the time we got to the Observatory we had very little time to see it. We arrived back to our cars about 1:30. Also, fair warning, it is very dusty on the traiil! Be prepared to clean up afterwards:

Amazing views and favorite LA experience! Our tour guide Max was amazing -- prepared w/water, snacks and sunscreen (he even told my daughters to re-apply when they wouldn't listen to me)! Max was full of knowledge, LA folklore and history and kept us engaged and laughing the entire tour. Highly recommend!

Such a unique experience. I really loved the hike, but the story told by our guide was so interesting and informative and really added to the whole experience. We took lots of amazing pictures we couldn't have gotten any other way. Our tour guide was awesome!! Would totally do this again if I ever make it back to LA. Thanks again for the fun and interesting hike. Added bonus was the adorable Dutch accent of our guide! If you are on the fence about booking this my advice would be to go for it, you won't regret it. For me it was a bucket list experience!

We were in LA for a very short time -3 days total, 2 of which were filled with a concert -but we wanted to do something so we could see LA. We stumbled upon this tour by accident and, as each moment of the trek progressed, we become more and more happy that we did it! It was enough exercise to get our hearts pumping but not so exhausting that it was painful. Peter, our tour guide, was awesome! He was both knowledgeable and a great story-teller, giving us the facts and background of what were were seeing while baiting us with juicy tidbits of history to keep moving along our hike. It was such an amazing part of our trip -and maybe even better than the concert...!

This tour was amazing. Our guide was David. He was very knowledgeable and told us lots of facts and information about the area as we hiked up the hills. I explained to David that I had booked the hike with my daughter who is very fit and I really didn't know if I would make it all the way to the top of mount Hollywood. He reassured me that I would and I did!! David was very patient and kind to everyone in our group and he made the whole experience very enjoyable. I would highly recommend David as a guide and this hike to everyone

It was an amazing experience! My husband and I did the sunset hiking tour with Eric... he was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had the opportunity to see some amazing views of LA and the Hollywood sign, as well as views from surrounding cities. A very fun and interesting history lesson to LA and Griffith Park. I would definitely recommend this tour, especially with Eric. Definitely worth checking out, you will not be disappointed!

Really enjoyed the hiking tour with Ryan our guide. The weather was lovely the group was small and friendly. The hike was taken at a sedate pace around Griffiths Park, which gave great views over LA and of the Hollywood sign. The high light to me was the visit to the Observatory.

This was a really fun tour and our guide made it more so with her stories and energy. The hike is definitely more challenging and strenuous than I think some people expected - lots of steep hills to climb - but totally worth it once you got to the top with the fabulous views - Hollywood sign, Griffith observatory, downtown and beyond. It was a gorgeous day and just a really great way to spend some free time, while also getting a great workout!

Had the best tour in LA, was really fun to know the details of Griffith Park and also as I watched the Lalaland movie again, able to reignite the scene. DW was a great guide with lots of information and able to answer questions asked too.

This hiking tour was the highlight of my stay in LA! It was the fist thing I did when I arrived in LA, too, and it did not disappoint. Griffith Park, at least to anyone from the East Coast, is a marvel of a city park. The place is more like a beautiful, small mountain in the middle of bustling LA, left totally natural to escape into from the city. No paved paths, no cars--it really is a hike! While not strenuous, it was a decent workout, and a good 2 hours, so I'd recommend being in pretty good shape and definitely bringing water for this.

A very nice walk through a part of Griffith park with some amazing views along the way and enough photo opportunities. Our guide, Peter, kept a nice pace and told lots about the history of the park (which i didnt know anything about, so that was nice).

When my daughter and I arrived we discovered we were the only two signed up for the tour. Our guide was Eric and he was amazing! Kept the perfect pace and gave us enough historical background that we felt we learned something but also told us the stories in a way that was so interesting and kept us intrigued! Great tour with spectacular views and an awesome tour guide. This is a win/win!! Don't hesitate to do this hike!

Our tour guide was amazing! But I must say this hike was not easy. Please bring your hiking boots and come ready to sweat depending on your fitness level. But overall I had an absolutely amazing time and I LOVED our tour guide. I don't have her name but she was a smaller blonde with a huge personality. Loved her!

Good guide, Nice nature, terrible time-planning missed the sign due to arrival at/after Sunset, took 3½ hrs Agains 2½ hr planned._br/_ Yes, it is just a sign but the sell it as an objective too to see - So please do not arrive too late. The Sunset i predictable and we were only three guest not being slow. Also because of delay we were freezing as the sun went Down - if in time the Sun would have been warming us. Eric, guide, is a nice guy and knows a lot about the park but NeXT time I would read the history and walk myself. Thanks.

Four of us took the hike with Kyle. Two of us dropped out due to my husband's inability to walk the first uphill part. We met the rest back at the Observatory and appreciated Kyle taking us in. My daughter-in-law and her husband enjoyed the entire hike which took them to places they hadn't hiked in Griffith Park before. Definitely a unique way to experience Griffith Park, take a moderately strenuous hike, and get some fabulous photos of the L.A. basin.

If you're looking to get great vistas of downtown LA and the Hollywood sign, as well as to stretch your legs and get in light exercise, this is the hike for you. I had a great time on this easy-level hike. Our tour guide Danny was polite and friendly, gave us a few historical tidbits along the way, stopped whenever anyone needed a breather, and gave me ample time to snap my pics. _br/_ The tour goes by the Hollywood sign for photo opps, but not THAT close. If you're looking to snap some closer-up pics, you'll want to bring along a zoom lens my photos were taken with a standard 50-80mm lens. The hike ends right at Griffith Observatory, which is free to check out minus the planetarium shows and offers a/c, toilets, drinking fountains, additional observation points for photos, etc. I would say this was a way better use of my free time than a walk in the city!_br/_ Things to note:_br/_ - Be advised that throughout most of the hike, there's spotty cellular signal depending on your carrier mine was Verizon Wireless._br/_ - There's a free wifi hotspot right at the entrance to Griffith Observatory's parking lot you will see a sign for it. _br/_ - There's quite a lot of dust/dirt on the trail so make sure you're prepared. In other words, don't wear white. -_br/_ - Also, watch out for dog poop as dogs are allowed on the trails!_br/_ - The tour guide provides a small bottle of water for everyone, but depending on the heat and sun that day, you should probably bring a backup bottle just in case.
