Ismael is a master historian and guide. He is a cut above the rest. Been on many excursions and he is by far the most knowledgeable. The local guides in Cordoba, Sevilla, and Granada were also very good. Constructive criticism: we needed an hour or two more at Cordoba to cross the Roman bridge and enjoy this amazing city. Use the 30 minutes of free time wisely. An extra hour in Ronda would have been nice also to walk through the old part of town. If we had left Torremolinos earlier to arrive at Granada by noon, we could have seen a bit more there also. The Aalbaicin neighborhood is a must. This is an ambitious tour that covers many cities, each worthy of a full hiliday season. Plan ahead and study the places you will visit to maximize your experience. The roads in Spain are stupendous. The rest stops top-notch. The hotels we selected were the tourist quality because they were nearer to the hsitoric centers. The Melia in Torremolinos was very luxurious. Sevilla and Granada hotels were a bit tired and dated. Overall, we are very satisfied with this trip. It was easier and cheaper than renting a car and planning each site and tour individually. Try it and you'll see. It was a total thrill.

This was not our favorite.. the food at the hotels we stayed at were sub-par. We ended up not eating at the hotels and venturing on our own to get food. Spain has such wonderful food.. you don't want to waste eating hotel prepared food.

I agree with previous reviews I've read of this tour. While the itinerary is quite full, there is ample free time to be able to relax and catch your breath. The towns of Caceres, Cordoba, Seville, Ronda, Granada and Toledo are completely wonderful. The Mesquite in Cordoba, Plaza de Espana in Seville and the Alhambra in Granada are absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. The local guides in Cordoba and Seville were outstanding - the best tour guides I've ever had. The local guide in Granada was also wonderful but unfortunately had some microphone issues and walked a bit fast for some members of our group. The local guide in Toledo was not great. Our main guide for the entire trip was lovely and very knowledgeable. Our driver was very good though not all that friendly. The hotels were great and it was good to have all of the dinners arranged - though they are quite basic. We really loved the Granada flamenco show in the gypsy cave and our local guide was delightful, however we didn't get back to our hotel until after midnight. We found the flamenco show in Seville to be too touristy for us, though many of our travelling companions loved it. Overall a fabulous tour - highly recommended.

Excellent tour ! Well organized and we managed to cover southern part of Spain quite extensive in this 5 days. _br/_ Our tour guide Ismael Julia Travel did an excellent job in coordinating and making all the arrangement with clear detail and he is very knowledgeable of the cities and very informative. All itineraries are in schedule. Beautiful experiences in all the cities covered. _br/_ Thank you for making the trip extremely enjoyable and memorable !

My 2 children and I had an amazing time! It was my first ever group travel experience. For location, upgraded hotels were worth it. Our guide Margarita from Julia travel was very knowledgeable and fun. Our local guides were great too especially Gloria in Sevilla. We saw so much in a short time!

This was a very well organized, variety-filled, and informative tour. Sonsoles was an excellent tour guide sharing a balance of knowledge, humor, story-telling skill, and a kindhearted, almost family member demeanor, which made us all bond easily throughout the tour. We were able to learn and receive a variety of day tours, while also having plenty of free time to do as we wished at each location. My only regret is that I wasn't prepared ahead of time to use this free time to its maximum potential.

The ideal tour to see the highlights of the Andalusian places in six days. The Mesquite, Alhambra, Generalife Gardens, Seville Cathedral,_br/_ and Toledo are tops. It showed Spain's amazing history and rich cultural legacies. Our eyes were stuffed with overwhelming wonder and treated our bellies with the delicious paella, callos, tapas, etc. The pace of the tour was just right. Though the majority of the superior hotels were comfortable and nice and food was acceptable, the Hotel Macarena in Seville was a standout with poor dinner food. Our superior hotel in Torremolinos - Hotel Pablo was very impressive. Food was very good and amenities very satisfactory. Our tourist guide was very patient, knowledgeable and fun.

Beaytiful places! Tour was operated by Julia Travel. Itinerary, guides and bus driver were good. Superior grade hotels and breakfasts were generally good as well. Optional activities: Flameco and Real Alcaza/River cruise in Secille are worth it. A higher rating would have been deserved if the tour size was more reasonable. There were 70 to 80 people during most part of the tour which was double the size of what I would expect for a large group tour. Everyone were generally punctual and considerate otherwise, it could have been worse. The arrangement of merging tours and changing bus after a few hours on the first day was very confusing and unexpected. Such details should have been indicated at the time of booking.

The trip was good but not enough time to explore the cities. The tour in Ronda was not guided and the tourist guide did not even give us any information on what to see on this city. Cordoba was very short tour, no time to take photos. Hotels are great location except the Los Angeles Hotel in Granada, it's out of town and the room has no privacy, wall is so thin that you can hear the people next door snoring. The hotel in Seville Catalonia hotel was good location and food but the wall was so thin you can hear everything next door and also the street light bothers me. The tour was great because it save us time to tour the south spain. I wish they give us more time to take photos. Foods for breakfast and dinner was great.

The itinerary was fine, the bus was not. Driver was very good but bus was very uncomfortable. I did not like bilingual tour, too much talking in another language made it very boring. Too choppy. Hotels were nice but air conditioning was poor in all hotels. Food at hotels was also sub par, and we were on the upgraded package. I would not do a bus tour again anywhere.

Excellent locations to visit but the tour was supposed to be in english. We were mixed up with a Spanish tour all the time and the groups could be 75 to 120 in total. Timekeeping was appalling by other people on the tour. We paid for the upgrade for the hotels. However the food in general was poor and the location of the hotels was out of town. By all means see these wonderful locations in Andalusia but choose a tour company that operates only in your language and with smaller groups

The tour guide was excellent, and the itinerary was quite good. There was quite a bit of walking, but that was disclosed up front. There were opportunities for side tours that required cash money, and I was not prepared for that. I was able to get money from an ATM but I would have gotten cash up front if I had known it would be required._br/_ The group we were with was also wonderful. I did not expect to be with such a nice bunch of fellow travelers.

My husband and I were disappointed with this trip...the sites were well worth while seeing but the tour was poorly organized. We were very surprised to be in a bus with 67 people on board. Our impression was that we signed up for a smaller group tour from the Viator description so that could have been our error. There was a lot of waiting, problems at one site with local tour guides and the buffet dinners were disappointing. Itinerary was brief and not provided until on board a very uncomfortable bus with no leg room and very limited overhead space. We got to the beach site at 5pm with plans to leave the next morning. The hotels were okay but you had little or no information at check in as the tour guide provided keys. We will be careful regarding signing up for any further tours in future travels. You go to really experience the country and this tour lacked an ability to do much more than see the sites as they timed them out...sometimes missing the main event. Toledo...we just saw the outside of the Cathedral and we were encouraged to eat fast food to be back in time for the tour. We have used Viator and been happy with our tours the last 2 years but this one was disappointing.

Got to see a terrific number of sites in an efficient and timely way. Tour guide Ismael was very polite and conscientious. For the number_br/_ of days the tour included, really covered a lot of ground .Had time to wander off on your own. The places visited are beyond description and fascinating. Hotels were fine, There were opportunities to extent the tour and the prices were reasonable. Nice group of people from all over also. Just have to make sure you are aware of bus depot sites, wasn't that clear in Madrid near Opera it was underground.

In the main, this trip met expectations. It was always going to be hard to see everything in such a relatively short period of time. Julia Travel had it pretty well organised, although the constant changing of fellow travellers was a bit annoying. It appears that JT have buses crisscrossing Spain and we had people hopping on and off as their tours progressed. We did have a core of passengers that were on this particular tour and we all had a great time. The sites we saw were fantastic the accommodation we went with the upgrade was largely good, as were the meals provided. We need to remember the old adage you get what you pay for so don't expect everything to be top of the range. The local guides in each town ranged from excellent Cordoba and Granada to adequate Toledo, but perhaps we were getting a bit tired by then. Our main guide / host was good, but perhaps a bit impatient if the tour logistics were questioned. The tour bus was great, except the on-board toilet was out of bounds which was poor, but I go back to you get what you pay for. We would have preferred to stay in Ronda rather than Costa del Sol. There was no logical connection between medieval villages and a coastal resort, but this was a consequence of JT's network of tours ... we had to drop off people on the coast to connect with another bus._br/_ Overall, a good tour, enhanced by the company of other travellers. Appreciate that you can't do everything you want to do on a tour of this type, but everything went well and it was worthy of a solid 4 star rating.

The places we visited were amazing: cordoba, seville, ronda, caceres, granada and toledo but Torremelinos was horrible. Booked the 4 star accommodation but felt as though we were in the worse rooms in hotel. Food was ok, nothing great. Bus driver wouldn't let us use toilet (3 hrs!).

Tour provided by local tour operator Julia tours. As this was our first bus tour we were a little bit uneasy, but a bus tour is a wonderful way to see a country and meet some great people. Our driver Fernando was amazing and skilled. Our tour guide whom I am choosing not to name was plain average and did the minimum, not being so rushed to leave us in places and provide some time for questions would have been helpful in most locations. Things may be easy, but providing a map and saying so, doesn't make it so. Although we had the tourist class hotels, it also was not necessary for us to feel that we were second class citizens - which started prior to boarding the bus in Madrid. Finding the bus location was a chore and taking luggage down two flights of stairs difficult. On more than one occasion she was plain rude speaking Spanish to only English folks and was exceptionally pushy to get people to their hotel, wanting the rest of the day to herself and refusing toilet breaks on more than one occasion citing timelines. _br/_ The only real difference between first class and tourist class was where the 4 star hotel was located. Hotels were OK, except the one in Granada that had A/C issues. It was over 40C, so this is a big deal. The meals were average at most, except Cordoba where it was very good. I am celiac and did ask about gluten free availability prior to signing up for this tour - this was hit and miss based on the hotel. I would suggest they could do better with this. This was problematic for a couple dinners, but also for the morning departure at 710 am when the restaurant was not open. Guide said breakfast would be available, hotel said it never opens before 8. _br/_ 710 am departure was way too early and not necessary. The only truly decent rest stop was this morning - almost as if the tour knew there would be no breakfast and we could purchase at the rest stop.

DO NOT BOOK THIS TRIP VIA JULIA TRAVEL! Unfortunately, this trip did not end up being more than a 3 star tour. Partially bad luck, but mostly due to how Julia Travel owner/operator of tour handled our situation. I'll start with the positive aspects--our tour guides in each location were amazing--Chirs in Cordova, Sara in Seville, Sergio at the Alhambra in Granada etc. I LOVE that the guides have to be locals who go to school or have a degree in history. Hotels are not the best, but they are not the worst either--clean rooms and friendly staff at each hotel. Visiting all sites was wonderful. We had a local guide to walk us around and give us the history of each city/town. We would have liked more time in Ronda and would have time on our own in Toledo. It was nice to have a guide in Toledo, but not necessary._br/_ WE WERE PICKED UP JULY 17 AND DEPARTED TO CORDOVA. NOW, WE KNEW HOW HOT IT CAN GET IN SPAIN AND WE WERE SKEPTIC ABOUT GOING ON THE TOUR. HOWEVER, THE PROMOTION STATED THAT WE WOULD TRAVEL IN AN AIR CONDITIONED BUS. FROM THE GET GO THE BUS WAS NOT AIR CONDITIONED. WE DIDN'T WANT TO SAY ANYTHING TO OUR GUIDE DIRECTOR JANET AND BUS DRIVER UNTIL WE ARRIVED TO OUR DESTINATION AS TO NOT CAUSE HAVOC. BUT IT BECAME SO EXCRUCIATING THAT EVERYONE BEGAN TO COMPLAIN. THE ENVIRONMENT WAS TAINTED WITH NEGATIVE ENERGY. PEOPLE ARGUING INCLUDING THE BUS DRIVER. JANET, THE GUIDE DIRECTOR IMMEDIATELY INFORMED THE BUS DRIVER BUT DENIED THAT THE A/C DID NOT WORK. HE SAID IT'S BECAUSE IT'S HOT OUTSIDE! OUR GUIDE DIRECTOR WHO WAS GREAT, CALLED THE OFFICE JULIA TRAVEL AND MADE THEM AWARE. SOME OF US TOLD HER THAT WE WOULD NOT GET BACK ON THE BUS IF IT WAS NOT FIXED. I EMAILED JULIA TRAVEL TO MAKE HER AWARE, BUT SHE DID NOT BOTHER TO REPLY. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL IN MY OPINION. OUR GUIDE MANAGER INFORMED US THAT THE BUS DRIVER WAS TAKING THE BUS TO THE REPAIR SHOP OVER NIGHT. NEXT MORNING IT WAS FIXED. NOT SO MUCH THOUGH BECAUSE IT WAS JUST BLOWING AIR. ON OUR LAST NIGHT THE A/C FINALLY BROKE COMPLETELY TO THE POINT THAT THE BUS DRIVER WAS FEELING THE HEAT. THAT'S WHEN HE AGREED IT WAS BROKEN--LOL! WE FINALLY GOT A NEW BUS AND THE A/C DIFFERENCE WAS NOTICEABLE. WE HEADED BACK IN A COOL BUS REGARDLESS OF HOW HOT IT WAS OUTSIDE. BOTTOM LINE--JULIA TRAVEL SENT AN OLD BUS FROM THE BEGINNING. THEY SHOULD NEVER EVER PROVIDE AN OLD BUS IN THE SUMMER AND SHOULD ALWAYS LISTEN TO THEIR CUSTOMERS.

A very pleasant surprise and really a very good tour after reading mixed reviews before booking. Our guide was very good and explained everything fully in English and Spanish and always provided us with comprehensive information on meeting points, breakfast and dinner times etc. If anything, was probably just a bit too much information on the bus when we wanted to sit back and relax, but better too much than the guides who don't provide adequate information. The hotels and dinners were of a higher standard than anticipated and we really couldn't fault any. We booked the superior hotels, and the only complaint would be that some of the standard hotels appeared to be the same level if not better than the superior hotels especially in Granada. The superior hotel was out of the way, poor meals, and very uninteresting. Looking at the standard hotel where the others were picked up, was far better and in a much better location. Julia Travel should really review the standard of hotels a lot more as it doesn't seem to be fair paying more for inferior quality. Other suggestion is to have one standard hotels for everyone as it's quite a time waster to be sitting in the bus while the first group is dropped off at their hotel. All in all however, we would recommend this tour as it provides a very good overview of the Andalucía region, the included tours are good. Recommend the Gypsy Flamenco show in Granada and loved Costa Del Sol even though it wasn't historical. A nice rest before travelling on. Buses are comfortable and we met some nice people.

Before leaving for Spain I knew I wanted to do balance being a solo-traveler and doing a group tour. After online research and a few phone calls I chose to book a 6 day tour: Andalusia - Costa Del Sol and Toledo. Since I did not speak much Spanish I was dependent on the guide for translation and information who was very well versed in the history and culture of Spain. Our group had over 30 people staying in multiple hotels so accommodating everyone's needs requires patience and understanding. Fortunately our group was great, but I could see this being a challenge for other travelers. When my tour came to an end I had a few days on my own to explore Spain and realized that I managed to see and do lot with the tour that I otherwise would not have been able to do on my own. Overall, I would recommend this tour if you do not want to worry about planning every single detail.

We did this tour in March 17. We've booked through Viator before but only for day tours and I will admit we were very apprehensive before taking the tour as we always travel alone and do everything by ourselves, but we were really impressed with every aspect of the tour and totally enjoyed it. Our tour guide was Ismail who couldn't do enough for us. He is a fantastic asset to Julia Travel!! He even walked through the bus several times to make sure everyone was ok and there was nothing we needed. He spoke perfect English and kept us informed at all times about the upcoming sites and the program for the day. What we also liked was the free time. After seeing the sites which were very comprehensive and guided by local guides who were excellent we were always given plenty of time to explore on our own. We paid the extra for the Superior Hotels which were lovely. Brekky and dinner were both included and you couldn't fault the food. The tour was really good value for money. Thankyou Viator for a fantastic tour.

My husband and I really did enjoy this tour-- our tour guide Gracia was WONDERFUL. This tour was a great way to see Andalucia in a short amount of time. The tour of the Alhambra was just amazing. The Mosque-Cathedral in Cordoba is also very memorable. I have to put 3 stars however there were some tactical pieces that we did not love and I just could not bring myself to do 4 stars because I had several moments of extreme frustration during this tour that could have been avoided with slightly better project management. Some of these are not the tour agencies fault like when hotel 1 in one of our destinations took 45 minutes to check everyone in while the nine people staying at hotel 2 just sat and waited in the bus during precious time in southern Spain but should be managed around as much as possible. One major recommendation I have for improving the management of the tour is to update the agenda-- on Viator it says lunch in Cordoba or lunch in XYZ city... we had 2 lunches that were not at restaurants in the cities listed but rather at gas stations along the interstate. Literally gas station cafeteria style food. Granted I'm kind of a food snob but I'm in southern Spain and food is a big part of how I experience new places. I do not want to eat at a gas station. VERY disappointing and irritating when food is such a big part of the experience in Andalusia especially. I understand that for travel purposes this made the most sense and the bus probably cannot get into the city well and parking is a hassle, etc, but do NOT misrepresent that on the itinerary. Another recommendation would be to have local suggestions for lunches or dinners that are on your own. My husband and I are avid planners, so we made dinner reservations for meals we knew we would be on our own for before leaving on the tour, but we did notice several of our fellow tour-goers spending a lot of time talking with our tour guide there were 50 of us and 1 of her so not fair to rely on her to give everyone individualized advice or trying to rapidly research what restaurants were good nearby which to me is again a waste of precious time in a beautiful foreign country. All in all though, I truly would do this tour again, perhaps with different expectations in terms of the food experience :

All the breakfasts and dinners were included and the food was pretty good.Drop off back in Madrid was very accommodating. Our only wish is to have lunch closer to noon in many cases to was at 2-3 PM and have a little bit more time for it.

The highlight of our 6 day Spain Tour was the guide Marina. She was joyful, knowledgeable and a real pleasure to be around!_br/_ Like all tours, one is able to see a lot in an a short amount of time. There are a number of items which can be improved upon by the front office however. Guests had to load and unload their suitcases. If I had known this, I probably would not have booked. Secondly, a great deal of time was spent waiting for new passengers to join the tour from different hotels/cities throughout the tour. This took valuable time away from viewing the cities. The tour was done in two languages which I found a bit distracting. The tour was a bit more strenuous than I was expecting---guess age is catching up with me!

In my experience the best multi-day tour on Viator in Spain. Andalusia is undoubtedly the best region to visit, thoroughly enjoyed each day. So rich in Spain's heritage, history and architecture. Sightseeing and the panoramic landscapes in all the cities are definitely the highlight of this tour. Very well paced, although a few cities like Ronda and Granada definitely deserved some more time on our own. All the individual tour guides were very good. Our main tour guide/manager 'Sonsoles' was a cheerful, knowledgeable, helpful and humorous lady. Choose the superior hotels option for best locations and rooms in each city. Have a great tour!!

For families, it's the best choice. Thanks to Hugo, our kid left her backpack in the bus and he mailed it back to us.
