Breakwall Beach, located oceanside of Lahaina Harbor, is a fantastic area for families to enjoy sunbathing or just playing on the sand. The facilities include bathrooms, showers, lockers and lounge chairs.
Receive excellent instruction at the Maui surf school in a small group (up to 6 students per instructor). This course will give you good surf awareness and safety, techniques in paddling, catching waves, standing up and timing. You'll be provided with all the equipment you need. Most importantly, each professional instructor is certified in First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross and are also certified life guards. This was money well spent for my son. The waves in Maui are smaller than other islands so it's a perfect starting place and the instructor was very helpful the whole time. This shop is located in Lahaina Harbor area so it is easily accessible. Really enjoyed the folks that run this shop. Would highly recommend!

It was amazing ! Scott was super patient and a great teacher. We were lucky enough to have a private lesson for 2 since it was the low season. For 10$ his wife takes pictures while we surf and they are definitely worth it ! Would definitely go back !

Just okay, tricky to find and parking is limited unless you park in paid parking. Booked and paid more than a month in advance and when we got there they didn't have our reservation. Asked if we could rebook or if they could find us another place to. Not Happy! Worked us in, but 2 hr lesson was only 1 hr

Our experience was amazing! I and #39;m 50 and my children are upper teens. Dillan was our instructor and he did an amazing job. After a short beach instruction we headed to the surf and all stood immediately. The length of the lesion was more than enough to enjoy the experience. get the picture package!

We really enjoyed our surf lessons. There were four of us and we were all able to get up and ride a few waves by the end of the day. Dylan was our instructor and he was patient and clear in his instructions. We were four first timers, none of whom had ever even held a surfboard prior to this. I highly recommend Maui Surf School or, as the sign said Outrageous Surf School - a little confusing. _br/_ Word of advice, the directions said that the school was across the street from the Burger King. BUT, there is no Burger King on Front Street anymore. It is now the Paia fish market. Outrageous Surf School is a couple of doors up from the fish market. -

This was a highlight of our trip to maui! The staff were attentive and knowledgable. Benny, our instructor, had years of surfing experience and was an excellent teacher! My husband and I were both surprised at how many waves we each took! I booked Outrageous Surf because of our great experience last April. These sessions were even better. Great simple teaching points pre water and total support by our teachers in the water. Safe levels of participation in small groups and nice beginners waves for everyone to learn. I progress to a slightly bigger wave today WOW what a thrill. Loved it.

Great day today with Outrageous Surf in Lahaina. Small group in well organised session one on one with teacher. Safe and fun. This was my first of two sessions after about a year, so still a beginner. All age groups catered for as I'm closer to sixty than fifty. Got to give this a go. Our instructor Benson was awesome. He was very patient and gave great feedback. I was very shaky at first but after some feedback, I felt like it was smooth sailing. I injured my hand while surfing and it was my own fault, but he kept apologizing and was very caring. He even paddled me out to the waves numerous times in which I was very thankful for. Definitely and fun and must try activity in Maui!

I was very disappointed in how Viator interacted with both companies involved and me. This particular tour takes you to a surf school, where you get a few minutes of video instruction followed by dry land board instruction. They issue you crocs (yes, you'll be wearing CROCS on a surfboard...), a board, and a wet suit top for the duration of the lesson. Then the whole lot of us (it was 10-20 people, I don't know exactly how many) walked down the street to pick up our boards and then take them out to the surf spot. This is a spot that all of the local schools use so it is CROWDED! And whatever order or process they tell you about in the instruction period is completely forgotten as soon as everybody gets to the water (not actually how to surf but the flow of people and the waiting area). There were three instructors out there with us on the water, but with such a large group, individual instruction and practice was difficult. From observing the way they were operating vs other companies, I would recommend booking a lesson with a different school instead, where you will get more one-on-one attention and what appeared to be better service and experience overall. I struggled with a star rating on this one. I wouldn't say it *isn't* worth doing, but it certainly could be better and I wouldn't go so far as to recommend against it.

Had fun learning to surf in Maui. Staff was very patient and I am pretty sure everyone in the class got up on the boards. Only draw back is this is the spot where everyone learns to surf. All classes teach in the same area. It started clearing out later in afternoon. Fun experience and well worth the money.
