Choose from several pickup points in central Melbourne or St Kilda.
After pickup from your selected meeting point in Melbourne, your day trip starts with the approximate 1-hour drive to the Yarra Valley. Throughout the day, you’ll be accompanied by your guide, a wine expert who will entertain and educate you about the varietals that grow in this renowned wine region.
Stop at your first winery, Yering Farm, a rustic winery whose cellar door is housed in a converted hay shed situated on top of a hill. Admire the antique copper tools used by pioneer winemakers more than 100 years ago while you sample the wines. Continue your day trip to your second winery, Balgownie Estate, a small vineyard famed for its cabernet sauvignon and shiraz varieties. Spend your first 30 minutes here at the tasting table, and then head into the winery restaurant for lunch, which includes a glass of wine and tea or coffee. While you eat, enjoy great views of the vineyard.
Next, head to Punt Road Winery where you’ll enjoy a tasting of the winery’s award-winning classic Australian wines before making your way to your last winery of the day, to the French champagne company Moet and Chandon's Australian production house. Take a private guided tour of the winery to see how sparkling wine is made, and then relax with a glass of bubbly while you marvel at the gorgeous vineyard views.
Your day trip ends with the return drive to Melbourne, where you are dropped off at your original pickup point.
Note: If lunch is not available at Balgownie Estate on the day of your tour, you’ll have lunch at a similar venue.
This was an excellent tour and worth every penny. The pick up and the ride to Yarra Valey were smooth. Four wineries were visited, which were indeed all different, as were the wines. The wine tasting was great more than enough although every single was just a little sip. The lunch was great. The driver and tour guide was knoweledgable and gave us nice informations. _br/_ The weather was terrible, but nothing you could blame the organizer of the tour for. The wine fostered a cheerful atmonsphere in the bus, which became almost boisterous, in particular on the way back and among some young ladies from Ireland.

Great tour and company to deal with. Kyle, our tour guide, was excellent and a great host. The highlight was the Balgownie Estate where the lunch and wines were fantastic. I would definitely recommend this day trip.

Our driver/guide Brendan was excellent. On time and just enough info. Wineries were very good. Good info on the wines and great taste. Perfect way to spend a day traveling outside Melbourne. Not to far and the great views. Would recommend this to all who like wine.

It was a wonderful way to see some countryside outside Melbourne. We had a most informative driver who kept us entertained. The wineries were varied and all concerned very knowledgable about their wines and history of the area. The fact that the weather was just picture postcard perfect, not cold and wet like the previous day, was an added bonus.

What a wonderful day! Our host, Nick, was simply brilliant. He was informative, funny and simply great company. Yering was our favourite, the wines were wonderful and our cellar door host really lovely. Balgownie Estate was very nice and a great place to have lunch - delicious! Domaine Chandon was wonderful. Only disappointment was Punt Road, the attitude of the cellar door host was rude and dismissive. Needless to say, no purchases from there. Apart from that, we had a great time and would well recommend this small group tour to anyone. You'll have fun!

This was a fun day to taste a variety of wines. This was a small group of about 12 people. We visited multiple vineyards in the Yarra Valley and had a wonderful lunch. We learned a little about the region and felt that the white wines were better than the reds. There was time to enjoy the grounds of each vineyard before proceeding to the next one. Our bus driver was very good and made sure that everyone knew that the bus would be leaving on time.

Great tour. Our tour guide was friendly and informative and the stops were good. I especially enjoyed the Chandon stop at the end of the tour. My only complaint would be how quickly the tastings went. The wineries were pouring our tastings so quickly I barely had time to taste what was offered. It felt a bit rushed. If they can slow that down a bit, the experience would be better. Overall I'd say it was a fun tour.

This tour gave us the chance to learn more about how to taste wine and what wines were on offer in the Yarra Valley. The guide was knowledgeable and clearly knew what each winery had to offer and what the qualities and history were of each. There was ample opportunity to sample the wines and purchase any we wanted. The small numbers made us feel we could ask questions without feeling self conscious The length of the tour was about right and what we expected.

I have never done a winery tour before, but what a great first experience. Brett our tour guide was humorous, easy going and easy to talk to. It was quite refreshing to see how invested he was at each stop, talking to the winery staff and helping out were he could, a real champ. All the wineries we visited were amazing, with plenty of wine tasting and the opportunity to relax and enjoy the scenery of the vineyards. Will be recommending this tour to family and friends. And i'll certainly be back to do this tour again.

We were a group of eight, the scenery was fantastic, the wines okaish. There should be crackers and cheese for these tastings, even if it costs and extra 2 per person. The van was very uncomfortable. Tony was very informative and friendly

Lunch provided needs to be improved upon. The small quantity is not enough when you are drinking all day. Even when asked for more bread they replied we only allocate a certain amount of bread per tour group which is one small piece of bread per person. This lack of food resulted in a very rowdy and rude crowd on the way home.

Knowledgable, cheeky and punctual tour guide Cam, gave us some great wine tasting tips and clearly had a good working relationship with the winery's that we visited. It was great to be able to just turn up at the meeting point, relax and enjoy the day, Cam kept us to the schedule, which allowed a little time to enjoy each venue. Good value for money compared to others, the tour included transport, wine tasting most places charged a fee for this and tasty lunch. Would recommend to others visiting Melbourne.

I live in the Margaret River Region so was excited to tour another wine region. The guide was good, the wine was good and we visited four wineries each with their own difference,_br/_ Margaret River has a nickname.....MarkUp River....Not so!!! Overall the Yarra Valley tours are dearer than the tours in Margaret River, the wine is about 20 dearer AND you get less..... Maybe traveling time has an influence but in MR most operators take in four wineries,a chocolate factory, a cheese factory and finish off at a brewery. Our Yarra Valley tour comprised of four wineries - the last of them described their four sparkling wines and you then chose a glass of just one. _br/_ Our guide was knowledgeable, informative, friendly, etc, etc.

It would have been a typical mini-bus tour, except that Brett, our guide, had a great sense of humor! He personalized the tour with local color, history of winemaking in Yarra Valley, and a few zingers thrown in along the way. We visited 2 boutique small producers and a medium sized winery along with the big time Chandon facility. I learned a couple winemaking trivia points, and only wish we could have taken home a whole bunch of bottles! Very much recommend the tour as a great day out in country. Brett made it a really fun day.

I have been on this same tour several times and have been happy in the past. Unfortunately the lunch this time at Soumah winery was very disappointing and nothing like the lunch at Balgownie mentioned in the tour brief. We were left very hungry. Chandon did not deliver either with no tasting and no food provided which has been the practice in the past. I think someone should offer a luxury tour at a higher cost with more inclusions. Driver was great but I will try a different tour company next time.

Great value! Just did a Barossa tour with another company, and got far less for way more money. Plus, the Barossa trip was very rushed. A small potato, some rice, or grain, would have set off the otherwise nice lunch.

Our guide Tony - simply splendid. The views of the Valley - as we rolled along - were beautiful. My favourite wineries among the four was the rustic farm winery - the lunch at Balgownie Estate was splendid - beautifully presented and oh so delicious. Samplings at each of the wineries was so generous. I did however feel a wee bit rushed during the sipping. _br/_ I respect the time constraints - but - personally - I would have appreciated an opportunity to have a Q/A during the sampling._br/_ This is a wonderful outing.
