Mexico City Sightseeing Tour

Mexico City, Mexico

Immerse yourself in Mexico City on a city tour offering something for everyone. Whether you're passionate about history and art, or just yearning for adventure, you'll travel by coach to some of Mexico City's major attractions including the Chapultepec area, the Anthropology Museum, Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace. All entrance fees are included and your guide will provide informative commentary on all points of interest.

You'll visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, which is the largest church in all of Latin America, housing many art treasures of the colonial period. This landmark took over 250 years to build, evident in its various architectural styles.

Next, become a part of a vast cultural and recreational attraction known as Chapultepec area. This 2,100 acre (8,500 sq. km) area contains five museums, two tranquil lakes, a zoo, an amusement park with one of the world's largest roller coasters, a relaxing botanical garden and many quiet walkways.

You'll also visit the National Palace, one of the oldest government seats in the world, which still houses the President's Office and the Ministry of Finance. Become a part of history when you walk through this 1693 palace while observing the Diego Rivera murals that blazon the inner hallways of the building.

Lastly, learn about Mexico's 30 centuries of human evolution when you visit the Anthropological Museum, which is the finest archaeological museum in the world. Here, you'll have the chance to see thousands of artifacts, including burial tombs, giant Olmec stone heads, the famous Aztec Calendar Stone and a reconstructed Mayan temple.

So much ground covered in numerous locations with an extremely knowledgeable guide. Picked up from hotel in modern air conditioned van and straight to it. Great locations - Post Office, Cathedral, Presidential Palace, Tiled house and Anthropology museum. Recommended

Make sure you understand where to meet the tour. I was under the mistaken impression the we had hotel pick-up. Waited for two hours and no pick up.

Wonderful. Too much to absorb in 6 hours and too many things going on at the same time. I did this in a Saturday, it seems like everyone was out to celebrate.

Our tour ended up to be private so we got full attention. Our guide was great - can't remember his name. We moved through the difference sites efficiently.

Very friendly and knowledgable guide. Really enjoyed the walk through the historic region. However, we were disappointed that we weren't able to go in the Palacio de Bellas Artes. There was only one guide for both English and Spanish which was a bit distracting, but the guide handled it very well.Excellent review of Diego Rivera murals by guide.

This tour is an absolute MUST! The beautiful cathedrals, land marks and architectural designs, paintings, museums...along with the shopping excursions - fantastic! To know that the cathedrals are sinking and engineering efforts are underway to preserve these historical landmarks is a once in a lifetime opportunity. If you don't get to the Mayan ruins YOU MUST SEE IT or the Museums YOU WILL KICK YOURSELF IF YOU DON'T GO this tour....ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY AMAZING!!!

The tour got off to a timely start on a beautiful day in Mexico City, but our tour guide Omar always seemed to be in a hurry. He mostly stayed with one or two of his favorite people, didn't care if everyone was around him when he tried to explain things which mostly were delivered in Spanish. During a bio break, one of our group members tripped in the restroom and sprained her ankle. She arranged for an Uber with her fellow companion and left the tour midstream. Omar had no clue about her until we informed him about this accident as he was busy smoking somewhere with his friend.

This tour was not what I thought it would be. The tour started almost 45 minutes late due to traffic. The guide, Theresa, spoke English but not very well. During the tour, we were supposed to see the National Palace, however, it was closed due to a government event. Then, we went to the National Museum of Anthropology which was nice but we passed many sites along the way that we could have walked to and explored.

Was not all that impressed with the tour guide who kinda rambled on with his explanations of the sights we saw._br/_ Would not recommend such a short tour of Mexico City 3.5 hours and I had 3 days.

Highly recommend this tour, Diana was our guide, she was clearly passionate about her country and the City so it made the tour even better. It was really a small taste of what to come back and see more extensively, the Museum of Anthropology is a definite come back._br/_ Thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

Our very informed guide walked us through the historic area pointing out many buildings and explained their significance. Lots of photo ops throughout. The walk through the national palace was a very interesting view of the Diego Rivera murals. We saw the Frida Kahlo home the next day which tied these two nicely bringing to life the bio I had read of the both of them. We enjoyed the National Anthro museum so much that we came back later on our own. This museum is a visual display that Mexico is so much more than the short span of the Aztecs. It is an excellent survey tour for the price.

The tour was absolutely disgusting! I know a lot of people have given great reviews for the tour and that is what even I had referred. All other tours I have booked with Viator have been good but Mexico City Sightseeing Tour was specifically disgusting. The tour started very late. The guide was smelly and did not have the proper knowledge. We were specifically told that the guide would know English, but he was not fluent with it at all! That really spoiled the entire enthusiasm. None of us understood what he said. Whatever he did communicate was absolutely wrong! He was not informative at all. To be extremely specific, the trip only takes you to Metropolitan Cathedral, National Palace and Museum of Anthropology. The guide took us to the palace first. He knew about only one painting in detail. Rest he spoke utter nonsense. I heard other guides during our tour and I could clearly see the difference between what they said and what 'Our Guide' explained. He then took us to the cathedral and left us there. He asked us to visit it by ourselves. Next he took us to Museum of Anthropology where he showed us only one room. That too he did not know very well. The information written in front of the monuments was much more descriptive. _br/_ We all wished for the trip to get over fast, as it was utter waste of time! I spoke to the management of Viator during our tour too. The person in the office was extremely rude and said you deal with it, we cannot do anything at this point of time! I request everyone to be careful while booking this tour. I am sure you can visit more places by yourselves and get more information than what was given to us!_br/_ Viator: please do take a note about investing in the right people as guides! Sorry for being so rude but really it spoils the fun completely!

Excellent tour. Could never have learned so much if we had explored the city on our own. Pepe was extremely knowledgeable and we had a small group which made it even better. Only wish we had known beforehand that lunch was not part of the day. Tour finished at 3pm and we were pretty starving at that point. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Mexico City for a few days who is interested in learning the city's history.

Due to demonstrations in the city, our tour wasn't as good as we expected. The pick up of all customers from different hotels took an hour. We had to change two vans. The demonstrations had been going on since the previous day. The company responsible of the tour should have informed us and should have taken some measures to prevent so many delays. _br/_ Though, Luis, our tour guide, was competent and tried its best.

On this day we had the honor of having Sergio, as our tour guide. He has been a tour guide for 56 years! Need I say more. We will not ever forget Sergio and the amazing tour, as he guided us through the Mexico City sites. This was a private tour, so we were able to take our time, and stop along the way and really try to understand exactly how incredible this city is. Sergio made us feel welcome and we had a beautiful day._br/_ We toured the Diego Rivera murals at The National Palace. Do not miss this Mexico City tour!_br/_ When your in Mexico City, this is a must! The Metropolitan Cathedral, the largest in the Americas. Beautiful! Outside the cathedral we saw the statue of Pope John-Paul II. Next was The Angel of Independence, and on to The National Museum of Anthropology. Inside the museum_br/_ Is a 1964 designed el paraguas, the umbrella, supported by a single slender pillar. SPECTACULAR!_br/_ A special thank-you to Sergio. We will not forget you my friend.

Incredibly informative and personal tour. My guide, a former industry executive was extremely knowledgeable about Mexican history and art. He made sure we experienced things historic churches, sites,, the activity of the city, the differences in the zones, and the people! We even experienced a street vendors with some of the best corn and pork that I have ever eaten. The Diego Rivera murals and explanations of amazing Mexican history were a high lite! Guide was unbelievably eloquent in both English and Spanish. Worth triple what I spent! Thank you!

Great tour, I recommend to do on day 1 - really helped orientate myself and the visit to the museum really provided a great context especially if you do the pyramids. Rahul the tour guide was very funny and informative - the time flew by without even realising.

The guide was really knowledgeable. He kept us informed and entertained during the entire trip. At the really museum, he took his time to explain to us stuff and respond to our questions. He gave us also information on other places to visits that were not part of trip as well as restaurants and bars.

The guide had very poor knowledge and was several times plain wrong. _br/_ Little information provided anywhere and only relating to the poor situation of Indians during colonisation. _br/_ No word at all about the cathedral and a 5 min visit. _br/_ We were offered to go for a commercial stop and everyone refused. We arrived at the Archeological Museum at 1:45pm with the tour finishing at 2:00pm. The guide then told us that everything in the museum was a replica!!! We ended up staying on for the whole afternoon to see this incredible museum on our own and then paid for a taxi back. Really not worth doing this tour.

It was good. Our guide had to deal with another guests walking issues but all worked out. Seeing Diego Rivera murals was my highlight. Amazing talent and story telling. The anthropology museum seems a little lacking but we stayed longer on our own. Overall a good tour.
