Key West Sail and Snorkel Trip from Miami

Miami, United States of America

Whether you’re an experienced snorkeler, or want to try something new and exciting, Key West is the perfect underwater destination. Your sailing and snorkeling adventure begins as soon as you board the Aquaworld 50-foot (15-meter) catamaran for a 2-hour cruise.

You'll get picked up from your Miami hotel and begin your approximately 4-hour bus ride to Key West. On your way you'll cross 42 bridges and hop 32 islands before reaching Key West. Experience a Caribbean atmosphere complete with street artists, outdoor cafes and restaurants. After arriving there will be plenty of time for you to explore Key West on your own. You can visit Hemingway House and one of the best spots to visit in Key West is Mallory Square, a place where many gather for a never planned, always different, daily celebration! Mallory Square is located by the historic waterfront.

After exploring Key West you'll take 2-hour visit to the coral reef on a catamaran snorkeling cruise. Before entering the water to snorkel, the friendly and professional crew will be on hand to assist and instruct you. Once you descend “the stairway to the ocean”, you will discover the wonders of the underwater world and its abundance of marine life including tropical species found nowhere else on earth. You'll spend 1-hour snorkeling.

It was a trip with double decker bus , thus there were a lot of people on the trip. Because of that the pick-up delay occurred and we waisted some time waiting for others. In the bus, the toilet is reserved just for 'number one', what was repeated by the guide several time. At the beginning it was funny, but taking into account that there was just one stop on the way to the key west, and none on the way back, it was not funny anymore. _br/_ Catamaran and snorkelling was fun, however coral reef was not very visible due to the windy weather, so we just haven't been lucky. Nevertheless I recommend it . The team on the boat was super nice, and helpful, and it all felt very safe. _br/_ SUMMARY: go to Key West, but find another operator who will drive you there in better condition, time and for cheaper price.

Loved it! Tour guides were great! It is a long drive so make sure you take something to entertain yourself on the bus, or a pillow to have a nap also pack a jacket, the bus is always cold

The sailing part of the tour was fantastic, and I'd highly recommend a day out on the water to appreciate the tropical feel of the Keys. However, I was expecting a bit more from the bus tour down to Key West - it was basically a shuttle service that stopped at McDonalds and dropped you at the wharf to then go find the snorkeling tour. I only had 50mins before and after the snorkeling trip, which wasn't really enough time to see or do anything else. As a result, I don't feel like I know much about Key West from the experience apart from walking past the many t-shirt shops and bars. Snorkeling trip - 5 out of 5, bus trip just a 1 I'm afraid.

Tour guide did a good job - bilingual. Water was too rough for snorkeling so we were refunded for that part of the trip. It's a long trip down and back and there was no toilet paper on the bus even though we asked that they get some once we got to Key West may be ok for men but not for women.

The coral wasn't great. There were barely any fishes in the water to look at but key west was nice. The bus ride is super long so get comfy.

Expectations were much higher but still fun and enjoyable. Weather was good. Travel time for a shuttle bus was acceptable.

Tour was as described. I snorkeled off of the shores of Key West. The waves were pretty rough but enjoyable nonetheless. The staff on the "Marquesa" was awesome. Lots of fun and very safety conscious. The only thing is the day was super long. I left at 6 am and returned at 9:30 pm. Be prepared for a long day. However, it was absolutely worth it.

It appears they changed the trip on us and combined with another tour which meant we had extra time in key west and a longer day than we planned. The tour guide was the worst we have ever come across. She could not organise or help anyone when we arrived in Key West, we all had to help each other find where we were suppose to meet back. The boat trip was pleasant out to the reef but the tour guide on board told me we wouldn't be able to see anything as the weather was turning nasty. They moored the boat so far away from the reef if was a long swim to get there and they ocean was very choppy. We couldn't see anything as the water was too murky just like the guide said. I was bitten by a jelly fish which stung for a week so all in all not a memorable tour. Would I do it again no!

Very long journey from Miami, at least 3.5 hours one way. The snorkel was very very disappointing and we weren't impressed with it at all. Didn't see as much variety of fish as we were expecting looking at the pictures on their website. Actually you can hardly see some fish. there were plenty of jellyfish and you have to watch out for them to avoid burning. Definitely it's not good location for snorkel. I would not recommend

Everything about this trip was wonderful, the long but comfortable drive over to Key West watching the scenery, Key West itself with the quaint galleries and shops with plenty of place to stop for a bite to eat and drink. The snorkelling trip was enjoyable. the best part of the trip was eating in the restaurant by the harbour._br/_ If there is one thing to try it was the tuna, it was to die for, and lets not forget the trip just would not be worth it if you did not try the Key Lime Pie, there was even a gluten free version._br/_ The trip back was just as nice with the views also.

It was really nice not to worry about driving to key west and just appreciate the view from the bus. The snorkeling was great, with a very friendly crew. After an hour of watching beautiful fishes (and I even saw a shark! wich wasn't dangerous) adn coral in a cristal clear water, you can relax on the boat with a beer and a drink which were free. Watch out for sea sickness thought.

I purchased this trip for my husband and I anniversary. This was a nice adventure, the ocean scene was great and the staff was friendly. After our adventure they served beer and wine free of charge. The only thing that bothered me was that if you bought the trip directly it was much cheaper!! Other than that, NICE!!

The ride was super long and tiring. I signed up to do snorkling thinking there would be enough time for sightseeing. I definately was wrong on that. As you can imagine. Snorkling experience depends highly on the weather. It was beautiful in Key West. I would prefer to be there at least 2 days so that I can enjoy the city. Too bad the stays were too short... Key West was amazing.

The tour is basically just a bus ride to Key West and back. The tour guide did not speak very good English or add much value to the trip, and all the guiding she did was telling a few sentences about the places we drove by. It was a 4 hour drive, and on the way to Key West we got one 10 minute breakfast break, and on the way back to Miami we didn't stop even once. The snorkel trip was great, but it was not told to us that if you do snorkeling, you won't have much time to do anything else in Key West.

the trip from miami at bus, is very long. although the staff on board the catamaran is very friendly, at the sea was not much to see, other than what I had seen elsewhere. truth this tour did not fill my expectations. the next time I go to Key West will take more time there, to walk the streets and see the museums and sites of interest there and we did not have time to see. i know there are also some very nice beaches, which we did not see either.

Hello, we had not even 20 min in the water, it is basically a catamaran tour. As well the boat was pretty far away from the corail._br/_ Even the crew was not nice!

Was good, but so far away.... we spend as much time in the bus then on the island._br/_ If I would do that again, I'll spend at least 1 night over there._br/_ The persones that didn't do snorkel seemed to be bored, for our case we didn't have time to do anything on the island after snorkel.

The staff and service are excellent - firendly, professional and fun. However, the snorkel destination itself does not have much to offer in terms of coral. We saw some fish and a couple of starfish - that's all. Nothing like some of snorkel destinations like Phuket, Great Barrier Reef or the Andamans.

We got picked up from the hotel at 6:10 in the morning and got back almost 12 midnight. It took a long time to pick up all the guests. And when we arrived Key West, it was already 12:30. Because we went for snorkeling, so we only had about 50 mins left for key west, which was really not enough. Feel waste so much time on the road. The snorkeling was so fun.

Key West was great and the sail was great but the snorkel was really cloudy and hard to see anything and was also rough water. Still fun but not what I expected it to be.

A great day that cost surprisingly little. Great weather, nice bus ride (long), a little time to eat lunch in Key West, then a trip in the catamaran. Snorkeling was fun and plenty of time available, then drinks and a great cruise back to port. Time to see the sunset, then back on the bus and let the driver deal with the drive back in the dark, while we watch a movie.

First of all the price 175 euros for two people is shameful. The price for this excursion bought on site was less then one third either thru hotel reception or directly at sebago company at key west. The driver Giorgio was rude and imprecise. He made us miss our snorkel tour because he told us we had to show at pier at 1:00 pm while the boat left at 12,15, eventuall ythe lady at the agency was nice enough to offer us a parasailing tour which we took because there was no other activity we could do in those few hours left. The parasailing only lasted some 5 minutes and luckily we werent' charged for that. Unforgettable disaster
