Milan Half-Day Sightseeing Tour with da Vinci\'s \'The Last Supper\'
USD $79.00

Milan Half-Day Sightseeing Tour with da Vinci's 'The Last Supper'

Milan, Italy

Discover Milan and see da Vinci’s masterpiece, 'The Last Supper,' on this 3.5-hour tour. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Santa Maria delle Grazie to admire 'The Last Supper.' Demand is high and the queues get long to see this masterpiece; choose this best-selling tour for advance booking and entrance tickets. Explore La Scala opera house with your guide. Marvel at the scale and beauty of Milan Cathedral and learn of its long history. Explore the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele shopping arcade, a highlight of Italy’s fashion capital.

Milan boasts plenty of superlatives: it's home to one of the world's oldest churches, a renowned opera house, the most fashionable city in Italy, and Leonardo Da Vinci's masterpiece, The Last Supper. You get to see all this and then some on this 3.5-hour tour.
Meet your guide near Sforza Castle in central Milan and set out on your tour. (The exact route will depend on your departure time.)
First, head to the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie — a UNESCO World Heritage site — and feast your eyes on The Last Supper in the refectory. This exquisite and incredibly important mural is thought to have been completed toward the end of the 15th century and depicts Jesus' last meal with his disciples.
Hear from your guide how da Vinci painted it directly onto a dry wall, a choice that makes it extremely delicate. For this reason, entrance is limited to those who have pre-booked, with the numbers of people and duration of visits also strictly controlled. Each visiting group is only allowed to stand with the painting at any one time in a specially conditioned room for a maximum of 15 minutes.
After admiring da Vinci's work, continue your explorations of Milan, where centuries of history and heritage blend seamlessly with cutting-edge styles and fashions.
Follow your guide to the Teatro alla Scala (La Scala Theatre), considered by many to be one of the world's most famous opera houses and learn how it has hosted leading lights such as Italy’s own Luciano Pavarotti. Admire the ornate stage, crystal chandelier and orchestra pit from your vantage point in one of the public boxes (unless there’s a rehearsal or show on). Your entrance ticket provides admission to the theater and museum, which you may like to revisit for a longer period.

No tour of Milan would be complete without taking in some of the city’s finest shopping hotspots — this is the world’s fashion capital! Wander around the chic boutiques and luxury stores of the glamorous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele shopping arcade, and admire the many luxurious items on sale.
After 3.5 hours discovering some of Milan’s top attractions, return to Sforza Castle in central Milan where your tour will conclude.

Please note: the order of the itinerary may vary on the day.
If a rehearsal or show is taking place during your La Scala visit, you will not visit the public box.

Please note: Entrance to the Cathedral is not permitted during Services

One of the best tours we did in Milan.

I really hate having to take large bus tours and it's disappointing that you cannot see The Last Supper any other way. While I really enjoyed The Last Supper and the La Scala was a pleasant surprise, when you are pressed for time it's disappointing that you have to waste half a day doing a tour.

If you are booking this tour because you think the tour companies might have better access to these sites, then truly, truly, truly, dont bother. Arrived to find that 3 out of the 4 sites on offer was either unavailable or the queue too long. Highly disappointing and a rip off. Just to be clear, tour companies have no greater access rights than as an individual Traveller. I didnt bother to even complain because my time in Milan was too short and I didnt want the angst of a fight. Plus the Italians are not known for customer service. Really, dont book unless the only thing you want to see is the last supper and tours are the only way. By the way, I thought The Last Supper was great but not worth the effectively 70 I paid to see it. Of Cotes, if you managed to see all the sites, then you should buy a lottery ticket.

We were disappointed that as soon as we got on the bus the guide informed us that we might not get into the Duomo, due to crowds. When we got there the line looked fairly short, likely due to rain, but she stood some distance in front of it and in the pouring rain imparted some history and facts to us for 10 minutes BEFORE asking the attendants, as she had earlier promised to do, how long before we could get inside. They told her 20 minutes but she said it would be half an hour at least and of course, everyone by this time was quite wet. She then proceeded to walk us all around the outside of the Duomo and tell us the history for approximately 20 minutes, in particular pointing out the beautiful stained glass windows which looked black from the outside. To be fair, this tour does not_br/_ explicitly promise we will get inside the Duomo, a major site in Milan and indeed in Italy, something we were really looking forward to, but it was very evident that the tour guide had no intention of us getting inside. She handed out entrance tickets to us and told us we could stay and see the Duomo or go on to see La Scala but not both. Had she taken us to the line when we got off the bus and imparted her information while we waited to get in, we would have been much happier with this tour. Even had she told us we only had a limited time inside if we were to see the rest of the tour highlights, we could have lived with that and seen SOMETHING of the inside. As it turned out, it was in fact, misleading and disappointing.

I gave this tour a 1 star rating because we were only able to get into the Last Supper. Upon entering the bus, the tour guide stated that the there was a strike at the La Scala Opera House and that they were substituting the Michael Angelo Sculpture at the Castle in its place. We returned to the bus and drove to the Duomo. The tour guide walked us to the Duomo priority line only to turn around because the wait was to long. We then proceeded to walk to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle where our guide provided us with information. We then headed to the La Scala Opera House. The Opera House was closed due to the fact that they were setting up for an event, not a strike. On the bus we were handed the general admission ticket to the Duomo to be used at a later date. I felt that this tour was over priced for what you received. The only positive part of the tour was the Last Supper to which we paid a high price. On all prior tours, we were offered a survey feedback form to rate the tour, however no survey feedback form was offered.

Almost the only way to see da Vinci's Last Supper in person is to buy a tour ticket. Though this includes a Duomo cheap ticket no terrace or archaeological access and a La Scala tour, there is very little added value. A large part of the time was waiting to see if the line in the fast entry was short enough to give us time to enter Duomo. They weren't and we back-tracked to the Galleria. After visit to La Scalla nothing added beyond reading signs, a long time-consuming drive past buildings of some notoriety, arrived at S. Maria d. Grazie for the painting. You have to really want to see that painting!

The tour was not what we expected. Much of the time was wasted at the start of the tour, where we thought we would be able to go into the cathedral and skip the line, but the tour guide told us that this would delay us getting to the last supper. This was during the pouring rain! We then toured the outside of the cathedral whereby my battery operated speaker/headphone crashed. Not that this mattered as the information was already on the boards in English. The guide was also mainly speaking German and did not really interact well with us all. We were then given the cathedral, tickets and advised to return. We then continued to the Galleria but this was brief. The visit to to Last supper was amazing and was a small affair and one of the highlights of the trip. I would advise that this is the first part of the trip and the rest of the tour be later. Much of the time was wasted in traffic and walking around city monuments that I would have done without paying 60 for. The main attraction of the last supper was amazing and so I dont feel too terrible. We returned to the cathedral where we waited in line albeit the short queue for approximately 40mins, be warned that this is a long affair and security is tight. Once inside it was a sight to behold! I would not recommend this tour unless you just wanted to see the Last supper. The rest you can do yourselves.

Awesome tour. Went inside the duomo, not the rooftop, the opera house, and seen the Last Supper. Liked the fact that some of the tour was on a bus. Great tour guide. Worth the money!

Viewing the Last Supper was amazing and LaScalla Opera House was beautiful. Very disappointed that our group did not get into the Cathedral because of a communication error with the Tourist Center. We did walk around and learned about the Cathedral.

This tour was supposed to include entrance to Duomo. La Scala opera house, and former Dominican convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, where Last Supper is located. One of the reasons we booked this tour was to avoid long lines to Duomo. To our disappointment, the guide told us that we will not be going to Duomo and just distributed entrance tickets to the group, so that we could go on our own. Unfortunately for us, we had absolutely no time to do that. We have another tours planned for the remaining two days in Milan, and this left us absolutely no time to spend a couple of hours to get into Duomo. Very upsetting. Other than that, the tour WAS interesting, and the guide Emma was good.

Overall the Milan Half-Day Sightseeing Tour with da Vinci's 'The Last Supper' was good, well organized, but...I find it unacceptable that we did not enter the Duomo. Queues will always be queues in such monuments... and since this was a pre-booked tour I booked it a month ago, and it was almost fully booked the agency should have made arrangements for the group to be able to enter the Church. I am sure this could be done, as this is done in other monuments. Groups get priority!!_br/_ I still cannot believe that I travelled to Milan, and was not able to enter the Duomo. :- Such a pity..._br/_ Other than that, the Tour Guide Serena was knowledgeable, energetic and polite!

It was a very informative tour and the guide provided great information. The only thing I would change is make the tour group smaller and offer the tour only English as well. It made it difficult to follow the guide when she had to juggle both English and Spanish for the group.

This tour was the perfect way to get an overview of the city and helped to identify which sites we wanted to visit in depth. I especially loved the tour of the Duomo what first struck me was that the walls are very bare for about 12 feet high, forcing you to look up at the windows...a very spiritual experience. Next was seeing The Last Supper in such a serene setting. Since our stay in Milan was short, it was helpful having the tour guide arrange for our tickets in advance and negotiate the logistics.

Bravo to Zani Viaggi tours for contacting us a week ahead of time to tell us about the cancellation of our original tour. They opened the morning bi-lingual tour for us. it was a perfect day, sunny and warm. This turned out to be the perfect tour to see the absolute must-sees in Milan. Our Tour Guide was Serena, of Zani Viaggi and she was superb. She captivated us with the stories and descriptions of the incredible sites in Milan - Sforza Castle, the Duomo, the Vittorio Emanuele II shopping center, La Scala and the Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper, the late 15th-century mural painting housed by the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. Serena's knowledge, honed to the most relevant was both educational and entertaining. As we had done with another couple of tours, we visited some of the sites on our own to give us the lay-of-the-land. Serena provided the details of what we were seeing, and we couldn't have had a better time. This is a must tour. You couldnt possibly get all the facts she recounted from a guide book or audio tour. The interior of the Duomo set us up for the incredible trip up the Duomo terraces to the roof. The incredible look inside La Scala Opera House laid the ground work for attending an opera later that day and she gave us just enough of a taste of La Scala museum to make a point of returning for a longer visit. She held our attention throughout the tour, making it one of the best we attended in Italy. Thanks so much.

Good tour that included visits to all the sites mentioned in the advertising. Viator changed us from an English tour to an English / Portugese tour at short notice - lucky we had internet access the day before to find out! Last Supper section excellent, La Scala could be better as delays occurred whilst people queued for the single toilet - there must be a better solution. Duomo tour was also very good. Tour Guide did a very good job. Tour started / finished on time and bus transport was excellent.

This was a nice paced tour that gave us an overview of the highlights of the city plus was an easy way to get into seeing The Lord's Supper. We had walked around the city some before the tour and it was really nice to have a bus to transport us between the big items we wanted to see. Would recommend for travelers with out a lot of time to self pace themselves through the city sights.
