Worst tour ever. Left hungry. Eat before you go.

Very knowledgable guide and a must do if you're visiting Montreal.

Tour was really fun and informative. The food sampling was good - a small taste of a few Montreal offers. It would have been nice to have a small sheet of information/map about the places we visited so we could go back on our own. We will recommend this tour to our friends and family.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. It was a very very cold day so it would have been good to change it up and have a hot drink along the way and a longer stop inside...overall a very good experience. Loved the smoked meat sandwich.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was easy to find and at the meeting spot nice and early. It was a good pace and the food was interesting and different. Really enjoyed the Patisserie!

Our guide and I'm sorry I don't remember her name, gave an informative and entertaining tour. The tasting choices were perfect and the history that went with them very interesting.

The tour guide was funny and very knowledgeable. I learned a lot about the history, architecture, and culture. He had many recommendations where to go after the tour as well. This tour was more of a history tour with samples of food tasting compared to other food tours I've been on, but they all represented the flavors of Montreal with mixed cultures. I really enjoyed it. It was a hot day, and I wish I had brought a bottle of water with me with all that walking.

This was such a fun informative tour! Our tour guide Darrin was excellent. So personable and knowledgable about the history of beautiful old town Montreal! The restaurants that we went into we're wonderful and the variety of cultures spot on. We loved the whole morning!

Pam was excellent! Her knowledge of the history of Montreal and the knowledge of the food made the tour top notch! We learned more about old_br/_ Montreal than we did on our old Montreal tour. She is very personable and clearly lives what she does!

Our excellent guide Pam_br/_ gave us so much history and information about Old Montreal. The food choices were delicious. I especially liked the pate and smoked meat sandwich.

Our guide was Pam and she was lovely, a wonderful guide. Great personality lots of fun info. She made the tour enjoyable. This was really more of a history and culture tour than a food tour. We've been on food tours in Amsterdam, Prague and Helsinki, the Montreal tour was weak in comparison and I would not recommend it to others.

My friend and I loved this tour! Carole Chef, our tour guide, was amazing--full of interesting facts about food, Montreal history and much more, and she managed a larger than usual group with grace and efficiency. We did this tour on the first full day we were in Montreal and I would highly recommend taking it when you first get to this wonderful city--it's an excellent way to get an overview of Old Montreal and get ideas as to where you should go while you are there.

We learned a lot on this tour the guide was very knowledgeable. The problem I had with the tour was the food. First of all, it took way too long to have the first taste. That should've happened within the first half hour. We came hungry and prepared to eat. Secondly, the selections seemed sketchy. Pate? That would've been fine with another choice, but not a great breakfast item. The sweet stuff was fine, but we just weren't satisfied with just a half meat sandwich. We actually walked to a restaurant afterwards to have lunch--something we wouldn't have expected after a food tour. Suggest they keep the guide, change up the menu, and add more hearty choices. Good history tour, but not a real food tour.

Excellent tour - well worth taking. Our guide was interesting and informative, the food we sampled was high quality and innovative. A great way to learn more about the city, see the sights and refresh yourself now and then with high quality, gourmet snacks!

We found this to be a great way to get to know old Montreal. It was like having a friend taking us to all of her favorite places for a snack. One of the best parts was that we didn't have to wait in lines for service. Our guide was most knowledgeable of the city's history which was our main purpose. All of the great tastes were just a bonus. There was just a taste at each stop but we both found ourselves full by the end of the tour. We would recommend this tour to everyone.

We went to five different locations and sampled delicious food at each venue. The tour guide was very informative about the area, food and culture. We had a great time.

The tour guide, Pamela, was amazing. She was very knowledgeable on the histories of the area we visited, and the food we tasted. She also provided interesting and funny facts about Montreal, and current events in celebration of Canada's 150th Birthday. She answered other questions regarding our personal interests in other neighborhoods. Diane, a new graduate of guide school was shadowing our tour. She was An unexpected bonus on this tour, also very helpful. Both were very attentive to all.

This tour was just okay. We have been on many food tours and I would say this one is on the bottom of my list. There was too much sweet and not enough savory. I will say that the price was much lower than the other tours available so we didn't feel like we were cheated. Food was just so-so.

This was a great tour with some colorful antidotes. Loved the one about the French and English statutes on the square in front of the Basilica of Norte Dame Montreal take the tour to hear the story. The culinary stops were excellent and each had a story to tell.

Our guide was knowledgeable, nice, nothing was rushed, knows a lot and loves Montreal! On our next trip to Montreal will use them again for other tours, we actually went back in the following days to 2 restaurants that were introduced to us and loved them. To one we went twice. P and S, New York

Old Montreal is a great part of Montreal, and this tour does show you a lot of the area. Our guide was knowledgeable of the area. However, this tour only had four small bites of food in one of the best food areas of Montreal. The title does so flavors and not food tour, so be forewarned. That is quite disapponting since there is such good food in this area. The Mile End Food Tour is far better for foodies!

Martine was an excellent tour guide on a lovely day made for a walk around Old Montreal. She was enthusiastic and knowledgeable in discussing variety of cultures which influence regional food. We tasted a small variety of appetizers which were very good and diverse including two kinds of pate', small tart, macaroon, small deli-type sandwich and gelato. Also gave us a historic background of different areas we walked and pointed out and discussed important monuments and places of interest.

Great food and a lot of it. Wish there would have been more history shared from the guide instead of just restaurant information and less about drinking.

Very educative. We had Ron as our tour guide he was a book full of facts! Very pleasant. The food was amazing. We sample 5 foods: duck and pig pate, macaroons, a tart, smoked meat sandwich and maple gelato! Great tour for price. A must do! P.s meet to the right of the basilica on the stairs!

Excellent choice for me and my friend. Stacey was enthusiastic and a fantastic tour guide. Lots of great information and we went back to two of the venues later. I would recommend this short, informative tour to anyone going old Montreal.

Loved everything about this tour! Our guide Stacy was wonderful. Her knowledge of Old Montreal history and beyond made this outing so interesting and enjoyable. It would not have been what is was without her depth of history. Appreciate her sweetness and love of history in general. 5 out of 5!

It was a really nice experience, the places that we visited were beautiful, very clean and the people were very nice with the customers. Our tour girl was amazing, she is young and knows a lot about Canadian history and food. I enjoyed the tour, it was a great b-day gift!

This was a great way to start a Saturday! The group met on the steps of the Notre Dame Basilica on time. Our tour guide Ronald was informative, funny, and professional. I appreciated the historical comparisons over time and between countries. We made several stops in front of old buildings and important places for Montreal's past. We had a pate tasting at the first stop, pastel-de-nata custard pastry at the second, macaron at a bakery/pastry shop, pastrami/smoked meat at the next, and maple syrup and chocolate at the last place. All were small tastings, not meals, but were rich and flavorful, so I did not feel like I was missing out on anything. The weather was quite cold, so if you go during the winter months, dress accordingly. There's not a lot of time to take pictures I suggest taking a few here and there and then just enjoy the tour in real time. One suggestion would be to bring your own coffee, tea, or some other drink along the way. Water was provided at two stops.

Review by:   Linda S,    October 2015 Review: 3 star rating: Worth doing
I guess I should have looked into this a bit more, to find out what kind of tastings were going to be offered. Yuk on most except it ends with at a incrediable bakery/sweet shop! Whats the deal with comparing everything, negatively I might add!, to the US?? Drop the snide remarks and just appreciate the fact that we are visiting and enjoy learning about your beautiful city!!

This is the very best experience we had during a delightful visit to Montreal. Our guide was Stacy. She was friendly, informative and fun. She mingled interesting history with food sampling during our walk. She kept the group going yet always found time to answer individual questions. She made sure our group knew how to return to any one of our food stops if we wanted to return on our own. We have traveled to quite a number of cities and countries and I believe she is either one of the best or the very best tour guide we have experienced. It is apparent she loves people and enjoys her job. Viator...she's a keeper and please always keep this tour available to visitors. If we get back to Montreal, we will do it again.

The guide was exceptionally knowledgable and the tour was fun. Our one criticism would be that it was to focused on sweets versus savory foods.

The tour was very informative and definitely exceeded my expectations. It was a great way to start the day in Montreal and expose me to some shops and parts of the Old Town that I had not been to before. I would highly recommend it to other visitors to the city.

Our guide Pam was great. Very knowledgeable and funny as well. The places we ate at were all great as well - and we went back to several of them later on our own.
