Nassau Shore Excursion: Bahamas Snorkel Adventure

Nassau, Bahamas

The waters in the Bahamas are simply perfect for snorkeling! If you have limited time and want to see its incredible marine life, hop aboard this Nassau shore excursion and explore the waters! Snorkel with colorful schools of fish and if you dare, spend some time sharing the water with the ocean's greatest predator! This Nassau shore excursion will be the talk of your holiday!

Just minutes after leaving Nassau you'll be snorkeling through an undersea extravaganza of living coral and tropical marine life. Your captain will choose two of the clearest and calmest locations on the day to begin your snorkeling adventure.

Then, if the weather permits, you'll go for a snorkel with your guide as sharks swim calmly below you. Or, if you prefer, you can watch the sharks being fed from the boat. Sharks are one of the most fascinating marine animals you will ever see, and on this cruise you'll see them up close and personal in perfect safety.

Participant requirements:

  • Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • Children under the age of four not permitted
  • Participants must have good physical health

It was good. The wind was blowing, but the water was so clear. The guides could have spent a little more time making sure we knew how to snorkel.

Too many people on one boat, felt rushed during the excursion. Bus driver late leaving at meeting point because of late travelers, which caused huge delays. Not worth the price. Three stars given because of at the end we were able to be in the water with the sharks, which was a great experience. However, staff not friendly and it felt like they had no desire to be working. It's too bad as this could be an amazing experience if they cut down on the amount of people allowed on the boat and had themselves a little better organized.

As luck would have it, the cruise line changed the day that we were to be in Nassau and we had to call up and switch dates. Not only did the date change but the time was shortened as well. We were set to cancel but they were nice enough to modify our excursion by having us go to two out of three snorkel sites, then they sent a private motor boat to the main boat to bring us back to shore and then one of the assistants drove us back to the ship. We felt like royalty!_br/_ Snorkeling was amazing. We saw an abundance of sea life. Highly recommend this tour.

Everything about this tour was fantastic! The crew members were funny and knowledgeable, the snorkeling and swimming with sharks felt safe and most of all fun!! If u can, buy a waterproof pouch for your phone, the view down there is unexplainable! I wish I would’ve done the the same.

Excellent trip. It was quite busy, but plenty of staff to help everyone. _br/_ This trip is all at sea, so if your not too good with small boats and choppy water, it's not for you. The crew were excellent and very helpful. Safety was paramount. The kit was clean and looked fairly new. Best bit was being in the water with sharks swimming under you just a few foot away. All done safely with clear safety instructions.

This excursion is highly recommended. The staff was great and helpful. The price is far better then any other excursions similar. Great locations to snorkel at and plenty of fish and sharks to swim with. I should also point out that the shark swim is optional but is definitely worth it!

Very fun tour. Three stops, two for snorkeling - buy fish food before you leave the dock! then the last stop was to swim in the water with sharks! The sharks came up to the boat when we arrived someone, not mentioning any names was sea sick over the side and the shark were attracted to it. Once that gentleman was moved into a safe place, the sharks paid attention to the chum bait cage our crew dropped about 20 feet below. We watched the sharks swim around and smell the cage so they didn't pay much attention to us above. We were only in the water 5 minutes, so get your GoPro ready fast! I was lucky to be first off the boat and last one aboard, so more time in the water. _br/_ We also got to see the small island that has been in many movies, such as Pirates of the Caribbean. Nice adventure.

We enjoyed the Bahamas Snorkel Adventure while in port on our cruise. Easy and professional booking, picked us up on time although the busses are around the corner, not at the fountain as stated. They shuttled us around for about an hour did appreciate being picked up then finally arrived at the dive shop. We did get a full three hours on the water. The first stop was ok, but the second stop was great. The only complaint I had is I wish they could have done the shark snorkel differently. They made us hang on to a rope attached to the back of the boat. I realize this was for our safety, but we were crammed together, being kicked and yanked about. Maybe to let 2 groups go out or 2 separate ropes would have been better. Also, it would have been nice to have a small snack provided. We were told that nothing would be given, not realizing we were gone from 8:00am till 2:00pm when we got back to port. Over all good time, would recommend this tour.

We were on a cruise. It took 2 hours from the time we were told to meet, to the time our boat actually left the site. The drive was about 35 minutes. The first 2 snorkel sites were great! The water became choppy and we were not able to do the third stop, which is the one where you see the sharks. It was a little disappointing, but our guides stopped and threw out some fish food to attract the fish and several sharks swam around the back of the boat, which was cool. On a side note, there were a handful of us who got to see a shark while snorkeling on the second stop: Overall, it was a good excursion, as you can't blame them for the choppy water. I did feel it took too long to get started, however.

Captain and crew were really great. We didn't get to see the last stop which was the shark. The seas were too rough, people were sick. Also, they included the snuba people along with the snorkeling folks. This took too long. We wouldn't have even made it to the last stop even in good weather because the snorkeling folks had to wait a long time at each stop for the snuba people to finish and get back on the boat. Snorkeling was great though and like I said, the crew was super nice and fun.

This was a great tour and I would highly recommend. The tour bus picked us up from the pier where the cruise ship docked. The drive was a bit farther away from the main tourist area. Once arrived the facility was very nice, had bathrooms, changing rooms and a gift shop. We boarded the boat and had 3 stops to snorkel. The reefs were decent and I would recommending buying fish food prior to leaving at the gift shop, definitely worth all the fish all around you! The last stop was the shark swim which was great. The sharks are pretty far below you so it wasn't too scary. The guide took my camera and swam down next to them to take some photos up close for me. After we got out of the water they had the sharks come up closer to the boat with food and they were very wild. The boat returned to the facility and the bus was on time taking us back to the cruise boat.

We can't really rate our experience, because we didn't actually get the excursion. Primarily our fault, but wanted to warn those, like us, coming in on a cruise ship to read the fine print! We got their email 10 days before we were there, and 4 days before departing. But I was very busy at work, and failed to read the fine print...that if you wanted to be picked up, to get transportation to the excursion, you have to call them at least 24 hours ahead, to arrange it! All we saw was the be by the fountain at 8:15 part. So, t wasn't until about 8:30, standing in front of the fountain, that I spotted this little detail. Needless to say...we missed the excursion and lost out on the charges, to boot. So, word to the wise...when you get emails from them, you have to search for the important details. Finding the voucher you need to have, and which has the instructions, isn't obvious in the email. Realizing that you have to be ready and waiting at 8:15, not 9:30, isn't obvious, and needing to arrange transportation separately apparently telling them you're coming in on a specific cruise ship, when you reserve, isn't sufficient, also isn't obvious. It's there, which makes missing the excursion technically our fault, but you need to dig and research to figure this all out. Not my idea of being on vacation, quite frankly, so maybe we'll stick with cruise ship excursions from now on. Buyer beware!

Long trip to the marina as the bus picks up at many of the islands hotels. Boat is rudimentary, toilet seat was falling off the head and no receptacle to place your tissues._br/_ Only water provided, you must purchase any snacks you may want at the store in the marina_br/_ 3 snorkel sites, first two too deep for my preference, we are snorkeling, not diving._br/_ The snorkel with the sharks means hanging on a rope while the sharks are baited at the bottom._br/_ Only good thing about this tour after everyone back on board they drew the sharks to the surface by baiting them there.

Highly recommend this tour, Rakeem I think was our snorkel guides name was very friendly and welcoming. They picked us up right by the fountain from our cruise ship, the drive to the dive shop is about 45 min but the view getting their was great. It was also nice to see other parts of the island via van. Also met some new friends on our boat!! This excursion was the highlight of our cruise. One pro-tip, print a copy of your voucher don't try to use the electronic version and the sharks aren't tiny little baby sharks, they are BIG.

This trip was amazing. The crew was organized and handled a large group with ease. Our first stop was at a reef where we saw many fish. Our second stop we saw fish and jelly fish and the final stop we actually go in the water with reef sharks. This was awesome to be right in the middle of a school of shark. The crew made certain our safety was first. Then Van returned us to our ship, while enroute he gave us a history of the Bahamas, some interesting facts and also told of other places of interest. I would highly recommend this tour.

Pretty good tour, enjoyed seeing the sharks and the snorkeling spots were decent. The staff was excellent. The only negative was they way over booked it in my opinion. The boat was packed and that made the experience a bit uncomfortable. They combine the snuba/snorkel tours together so the back of the boat is filled with oxygen tanks that a lot of the guests had to sit against. Not a deal breaker but reduce the number of people by at least 10 and it would be a 5 star trip and a better experience.

Horrible experience, and never even got to go on the excursion. The directions for the meeting place for this trip are to meet in front of the water fountain, just outside the green gate, at 12:15 pm for departure at 1:30 pm. So around 12:05 pm we get to the fountain and waited. There were many other excursions and tours around, everyone had a sign, or yelled out to locate customers. I saw nothing for Stuart's Cove. No one came around, no buses, nothing. I finally was able to ask for help at 1:40 pm. A kind girl let me borrow her phone so I could call. I called and the EXTREMELY rude representative asked me how could you not see the bus right in front? and that there was nothing they could do now, as the actual boat leaves at 1:30 pm. I could have lived without the condescending attitude.

This was a great excursion! Took my teenage son and his girlfriend. We all had a great time. There was plenty to see and we never felt rushed. Plenty of time was given at each of the stops. The team was very knowledgeable and helpful. There was plenty on space on the boat, and it never felt crowded. The staff made sure we had everything we need, and the equipment was in good condition. Out of the three stops, each was better than the last. Swimming with the sharks was a really cool experience! If you have any tendency towards motion sickness, make sure to take some meds beforehand. Even on a calm day and a smooth boat ride, one of us got a little nauseous. Also, spend the extra money on the fish food. It is great to see all the different types of fish come up to you! Really was a great experience and well worth the money. I'd consider doing it again if ever in Nassau.

My husband and I had a great time at the 2 reefs we were taken to. We saw lots of fish and the reef was beautiful. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They had easy access into and out of the water. We also enjoyed the snorkel time with the sharks. It was so much fun. We can't wait to go back to the Nassau and go to the same place and snorkel again. We are both 60 and we had a great time.

I enjoyed the tour. Pick-up was very easy. You meet by the water fountain right outside of the cruise port market and the pink bus will pick you up at 8:15am. After about a half-hour drive you will be at Stuart Cove's headquarters on the southern end of New Providence, where you will complete registration and get your snorkeling equipment. They charge 3.00 tax for a new mouthpiece, which we thought was worth it.

Im sure this excursion would be great at times but not with near 50 knot winds. The guides were great but we should have not went out in that rough of water. Several people got sea sick as the boat was bouncing around. 2 couples on our cruise just wouldn't go because of the weather. I did however and wished I would have followed there lead. I wouldn't book until I got there and checked the weather out first.

It's been too long for me to remember all of the names of the crew (Feb trip, now May), but my children and I had a great time. The bus pick-up and drop-off was very easy as we were at the Cruise Terminal. On the boat, the Crew was Professional and we stopped at two locations, both which had an abundance of sea life and coral only ~20 feet deep. I also did get to swim "above" the reef sharks, about a dozen, 3-5 feet long, they (the crew, not the sharks) were a little cautious as I wanted to swim down to the bottom with the sharks (I can hold my breath a long time), but I had to stay on the rope line and I was kept from jumping in with the sharks while feeding them, but the crew certainly was looking out for my safety. My children were treated great and helped with the snorkeling equipment. All-in-all a great trip and good conversations after with the employees in the Store. I did see a large sea turtle as well escaping from me. Gary

It was fun until the shark part where the female staff was yelling, shaking their heads, and acting frustrated. People were confused and they sucked the fun out of it. I couldn't enjoy bc I was being yelled at. I understand it's sharks, but have a better routine then. I paid to have do this.

The snorkeling was great in the first two locations. Snorkeling with the sharks at the last location was cool, although the staff noticed they were behind in their schedule so it was very crowded for the last group of snorkelers with the sharks. The staff was very friendly and unlike other snorkel excursions I have done in the past, they weren't trying to attack you with extras to purchase (pictures, souvenirs, etc). Overall we had a great time!

Both my wife and I enjoyed the snorkeling excursion. The snorkeling sites were very good. The only drawback is the pick up from the cruise terminal. We arrived via the cruise ship. When we arrived at the pick up location (water fountain) on time, nobody was there. I had to call the company to ask for the pick up and the driver arrived in about 10 minutes.

for some reason that i could not find an answer to, my friend and i did not get to go on one of the 3 snorkeling places and we were not late. the final place was where the excitement finally began as the other site did not have the usual colorful fish and coral. i've swam with sharks 8 times but here you don't actually swim with them -you are floating on the surface holding on to a rope looking way down at the sharks. the guy scared us when he said that they have hand fed these sharks for 20 yrs so when in the water do not put your arms out as they will think you are feeding them. hellooooooooo- i need to move my arms a lot to_br/_ swim especially since the current was really vicious plus i need to have my arms out to videotape. didn't_br/_ get much video or pics because the water was so crazy. i still enjoyed it watching them -a heart pounder._br/_ i got better pics when he pulled the shark bait back up to the boat and many of them were at the surface for_br/_ some time.

Excellent excursion! Bus was on time! Drive through Nassau was a good way to see the island, without personally driving it! Arrived at Stuart's Cove and it was a very easy and organized check-in. Employees were very courteous, informed, fun, and they made the snorkeling a safe and wonderful time. Swimming with the sharks was a "first"... can't wait to get my scuba cert. and the, scuba with the sharks!

I have snorkeled extensively in Belize, so I had high standards for any snorkel excursion. The reefs and Stuart's Diving Cove (contracted with Viator) even exceeded my expectations. It was the best day of our cruise as far as I'm concerned. The reefs were in good shape, very much alive with lots of diverse tropical fish and the dive team let us browze around by ourselves for about 30 minutes at each of 3 dive sites. You could venture off by yourself if you were experienced or stay close to the boat if you weren't. We saw sharks and dolphins, and the team was great to work with, very charming. I highly recommend. Well worth the money.

This excursion was a lot of fun! We were picked up by Stuart Coves' bus and were shuttled to the dive shop which was about a 45 min ride. Got motion sickness on the ride there, tons of tight, curvy roads; make sure you take dramamine before going (for the bus ride and the boat ride). There were 3 stops on the snorkel tour. There were tons of fish to see including bluefins (Dori) and parrot fish (my 9 year old's favorite). Our captain and diving assistant were very helpful. There were 62 riders on this tour which was very crowded, lots of riders had to stand during the ride. Staff were very serious during the shark snorkel stop. Riders had to follow instructions to ensure everyone's safety. Overall had a lot of fun on this tour. Would do it again!

I'd show photos but we used a one tio=me underwater camera and they're not developed yet! Great trip, highly recommended!
