Best view you could possibly get of the fireworks and the upgrade to include drinks and food is definitely worth it!

Food selection was not good and the employees of the boat took good viewing spaces.

Very good trip, would have given 5 stars but some of the food choices ran out.

Boat ride was great but food service was subpar highly disorganized not what was stated in the paper It would have been better if the gave away packed ready to eat stuff not when you expect people to get on line and not enough servers I see people grabbing food left and right and some did not

It wa amazing. We had a great time best view to watch fireworks. Our boat was first up, no one between us and the fire works. Great job by our captain. I would do this again for sure.

Awesome!!!!!!_br/_ Being that close to where the fireworks were let off took the experience to a whole different level.

Well, this cruise was a huge disappointment! We went on the July 4 Fireworks Cruise for only one reason--to get a fabulous view of the fireworks. In past years, we watched along the East River; more recently, when the display moved to the Hudson, we paid for the "Pier Party" and had a great view from their pier. We took for granted that their boat trip would be even better, but our boat parked far from the fireworks, on the other side of Governors Island. We could see--from a distance--fireworks high in the sky, but nothing from the Brooklyn Bridge and none of the fireworks set off nearer to the water. Our view was almost completely blocked by Governors Island's trees. Other boats got much closer; we were the only one out in the wilderness. We sent an email of complaint to their customer service department, but got no response. An expensive and hugely disappointing experience. We'd never do this again. One star, but only because the website doesn't allow zero.

I had a great experience. No place better to see the fireworks on the 4th of July. Very impressive to have the city in front of you and the Statue of Liberty behind you. For a non New Yorker but someone who visits often this was still a new adventure for me. Something I would recommend to anyone wanting to avoid the street crowds.

This tour was amazing! If you are even in New York City for the 4th of July and have an opportunity to do this you definitely should. Best way to see the fireworks in New York City. We boarded at 4:30 and left the dock about 5:15. We had a nice cruise around the harbor until about 6:30. At 6:30 we were at the designated position to see the fireworks. Since the fireworks were not until 9:30 I wondered how it would be to just sit there for 3 hours but with the music and meeting/talking to some new people the time went by rather fast. Around 9:00 I looked back and realized why we had gotten to our position so early. Behind us were hundreds of boats and we were the first ones closest to the barge where the fireworks were being set off from. At 9:30 we literally had a front row seat to some of the most spectacular fireworks I have ever seen. Towards the end of the show you could since the captain repositioning the ship to head back to the dock. As soon as the show was over the captain zoomed back to the dock and we avoided all other boat traffic. We were back to the dock in 15 minutes with many great pictures and memories of the night to share.

We got there at 3pm, but they didn't load boat till 6. We were in the rain for 45 minutes! DJ was great, wine and snacks were good, restrooms way down on the bottom of boat and dirty! Still it was a nice ride!

I had a wonderful experience from the time I arrived and waited in line to board until the time it was over. The boat was not overly packed and there was plenty of seating for those who wanted to sit. The food was good and not as expensive as I thought it would be. Additionally they provide a DJ on the upper deck however if you are not interested you may go to the lower deck and not be bothered. It truly was fantastic!! I will be taking this cruise again next year if I am in the city! It was very nice to be completely unaware of how many people were watching the fireworks! Additionally the tour guide was very informative. All of the staff was very pleasant and answered all questions.

It was supposed to be a pleasure, but it was not. We were asked to arrive not later than 4.30pm to depart at 5.00pm. There, were told that the departure was at 6.00-6.30pm, they did not know why the information was wrong on the web and the tickets. It was pouring rain. We finally boarded, and we had 2 choices: inside in the cold A/C room, our outside, where an aggressive music that was so loud that you could barely talk to your friend. Several guests asked the DJ to lower the volume, to no effect. The firework did not start before 9.30 pm, it was a very long wait supporting the music. We were glad that at least, it did not rain anymore. When the firework started, the DJ decide to keep playing his loud music. We could not hear the cracks and bangs of the firework, and the music had nothing to do with the lights we could see. The spectacle was beautiful, but it was damaged._br/_ Last but not least, we cannot bring any food on board, but it you are a vegetarian, there is nothing for you but nacho and cheese, pretzel and chips._br/_ I will not recommend this tour to anyone who asks.

Very nice trip. Sat on the top deck in back. Saw New Jersey fireworks and New York's. Because of previous reviews, we ate before going out. The only food we saw other people have was nachos and hot dogs, don't know if there was anything else. The Intrepid is right next to this dock, so you can see that if you wish. Would take this trip again, very relaxing.

Disappointed that there was covering over 3/4 of the boat we were on (even on top deck) so we had to hang off the boat - out a window - to see the fireworks. Our main reason for booking the tour !!!

Amazing view of the fireworks and such a fun way to spend an evening. Sit outside at the back of the boat as close to the rail as possible. Strongly recommend you BYOB and snax because the line-up is really long. Took over an hour waiting in line to get served.

THE EVENING WAY REALLY GOOD, ONLY ONE PROBLEM THE FOOD AND DRINK QUES WERE A JOKE, WAY TOO LONG AND ONLY ONE PLACE TO GET THE FOOD AND DRINK FROM, WE WAITED 1HR AND 20 MINUTES TO GET DRINK, ....OTHER THAN THAT ALL WAY GOOD THE MUSIC WAS GREAT, FIREWORKS NAD SPOT WAS BRILLIANT.... BUT YOU NEED STAFF THAT KNOW WHAT THERE DOING AND TWO OR MORE AREAS TO BUY FOOD...

we had a wonderful time! the staff was very nice, the DJ very funny and his music amazing! We will definitely recomend it to friends! the way the ship was situated gave us a fabulous view of the show. The only not too good thing, were the lines to get refreshments, but that really did not take away from the good time. THANK YOU!

The actual cruise was quite enjoyable. However, the process to load the boats (6 of them) was terrible. We stood in the hot sun for over 90 minutes to get on one of the boats. This is unacceptable - we are all over 65 and it was almost intolerable. Although our boat had AC, I noticed that several of the others did not. We lucked out! Further, the onboard DJ had the music cranked up so loud we could not talk and spent time holding our ears to prevent damage. On the positive side, the fireworks were incredible and our captain got us parked on the front rows of the boats. I would go on a 4th cruise again but not on Circle Line!

It was a disaster. The bow of the boat was turned toward the fireworks rather than the stern where there was a view of the sky and where most people had settled themselves.. Very few, none of the elderly and very few of the chilldren saw anything. We did not. The lucky people were on the front of the bow itself. Since the bow deck is canted, only the tall people just behind them could see over them to the fireworks._br/_ In addittion, the music was painfully loud, and there were few places on the boat where it was tolerable. The disc jokey was asked several times to lower the volume, and would do so for one or two songs, then return it to intolerable levels.

Watching the 4th July fireworks along the Hudson River on a boat with beautiful scenery all around had to be one of the biggest highlights of what was to be the best holiday I have ever had._br/_ These really are best seats of the house on what can only be described as the best firework show I have ever witnessed. With great company sat beside me this should have been an easy 5 out of 5 experience hands down. So where did it all go wrong?

We were very disappointed in the Cruise on the Hudson for 4th of July. We had such great expectation for a fantastic fireworks show! _br/_ The cruise was poorly organized (passanger loading) and you had to stand in line for over 1 hour in order to get drinks and food...before they ran out! So instead of being out on deck enjoying the DJ (who was good); you were on a lower deck in line._br/_ The most disappointing however was the distance from the fireworks and the fact that the boat had us facing away from the display. People were very unhappy and some were going to ask for their money back._br/_ I would not take this line again in the future; however I do recommend the experience of cruising the Hudson and watching the fireworks - just try some other line!

The most important Fire works were not seen from the boat nobody on the boat was able to see them visability was blocked the boat did not move the passengers can't see. Everybody was dissappointed i don't reccommed this to anyone especially to tourists.

The fireworks were amazing...however they were difficult to see as the boat was facing an awkward direction. Could have been better positioned so that everyone could see. Drinks and food on the boat were expensive.

Good overall - due to fireworks. Taxis cannot drop you at the pier as roads closed off, also no chance of taxi back as so busy so be prepared to walk. Disco on board was unbearably loud. Had to stand at other end but view from there was good. Dress code very casual. I was overdressed as I thought it would be "posher".Bar service terrible - mostly as a till was playing up. Queued 40 mins. Eat before you go is my advice. However the fireworks were fab and the view unbeatable. Go for that if nothing else. It is all that recommends it.

disappointing the captain pointed the bow to the fireworks display so the bulk of customers could not get an adequate view of fireworks...he was asked to turn broadside but did not comply...very disappointing...also , way too much latin type music blaring

I wont even give this one 1 star. It was a nightmare. The captain of the ship wouldn't turn the boat to let everyone see. We spent way too much money and didn't really get to see anything. Even the crew members were talking bad about it. We should have saved our money and sat on shore. At least then we would have gotten to see the fireworks. We were all (8of us) very disappointed.

The boat was suppose to go to the Statue of Liberty and it did not. We actually sat idol for 2 hours. It was a beautiful night so it was nice to get to see the sun go down over the the Hudson river. It was nice, I thought it was going to be better.

We were not happy with our boat ride. We had to stand in line for 40 min. to get our food at the snack bar. They ran out of different items early in the evening like nachos and cheese. When we first got on the boat they would not let us put up the folding chairs so that we could sit down. We could see the other boats were letting the people sit down right away. After much complaining from the guests we were allowed to sit down When they stopped the boat to watch the fireworks the main part of the boat was positioned away form the displays of the fireworks. Most of the people could not see. I would not recommend this trip to anyone.

We had a great trip to New York except for this event! This was the worst thing we have ever booked bar none. It appeared this Harbor Sightseeing for Fireworks was designed with the focus on how many people could we get onto the baots to make the most money with NO consideration to those booking the trip or any any concern if you would be able to see the Fireworks. Long stands in line on the Pier before boarding and an hour wait on the boat all evening to get anything including a bottle of water and forget trying to see the Fireworks. I was beyond disappointed and if the tour operator and Viator conduct this same event nrext year don't waste your money, times, or a chance to see what I heard was a wonderful Fireworks show.

We went for a July 4th cruise. I assumed, or it appeared from the website, that the cruise was a statue of libertysightseeing cruise ending with fireworks. The boat found a spot just north of the docks in the middle of the river a stayed there the whole time. The DJ was a nightmare. Extremely loud hiphop music which he would not turn down even after receiving requests from dozens of passengers. The music was completely unmatched to the crowd on the boat and the DJ and crew did not care. No music would have been much better.

It was Horrible! the boat did not go down the HUDSON as Promised! it went to one spot and stayed there. while the other Boats sailed around us having fun! i was very dissapointed! & while thinking to myself i over heard another Passanger complaining to one of the workers on the ship that obvi. didnt care & acted as so. I was like Wow! there is no need for me to make any mention ... im bring my Son 82910 for his B-Day & will not use this company for anything Again...... wayfrmlouisiana! !

Absolutely the best fourth of July my family has ever had. The view was spectacular! We were right up on the front lines just several hundred feet from the first Macy's barge. I got the most vivid pictures of the fireworks display. I would definitely recommend this event for all to see, however, I have reservations about saying this because I want to go again next year and I feel the crowds will be even larger, but there are many boats available. The only negative point I can mention is that the food available on the boat was limited and some of the selections were sold out before we even got a chance to purchase and we were one of the first groups on the boat. Remember you usually get on the water by 730 pm and the fireworks don't start until around 920 pm so you will have plenty of time to take in the sites prior to the main event. I will be returning with my family next year for another great Fourth of July in the BIG APPLE on the Hudson!

You basically get on the boat and sit idling on the Hudson River to watch the fireworks. It was not worth the expense. The fireworks were nice but no real need for the boat experience.
