Craft Beer Sailing Cruise in New York City

New York City, United States of America

Step aboard one of the largest sailing ships in the US and cruise along New York Harbor while tasting some of New York’s best craft beers. Sip crisp ales and lagers paired with cheese and charcuterie while enjoying breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, Ellis Island, Battery Park and the other treasures of New York Harbor. This beer-centric sailing adventure makes for a fun, relaxing afternoon with friends and family.

Head to Battery Park to board the Clipper City, your classic sailing vessel for the afternoon. This 158-foot-long (48-meter) tall ship is a replica of the lumber-hauling schooners that drove the American lumber industry more than a century ago, and can comfortably fit 150 people – the most of any passenger sailboat in the United States.

Take a seat or relax on the wrap-around deck as you set sail along New York Harbor. If you're up for it, you can even help raise the sails or take a turn at the helm! Then, enjoy fantastic views of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Brooklyn Heights skyline, the Red Hook neighborhood, Battery Park, the Manhattan Bridge and the Manhattan skyline before heading toward the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

During your sail, you’ll be served six types of craft beers from breweries all over New York such as Brooklyn Brewery, KelSo of Brooklyn, Fire Island Beer Company, Southampton Publick House, Ithaca Beer Company, Empire Brewing Company, Lake Placid Brewery, Keegan Ales and Captain Lawrence Brewing Company. These crisp, cold ales and lagers are all handpicked from your expert host, so you know you're tasting some of the best beer in New York.

Pair your tastings with cheese and charcuterie sourced from a popular Brooklyn shop specializing in high-end, unique cheeses and meats. Tastings vary week to week, but generally include a variety of meats, medium-soft and hard cheeses, plus dried fruits, nuts and cornichons.

Savor the last of your relaxing afternoon on the water as you finish up your tastings and make your way back to Battery Park.

Great trip, lot of fun. Could have had a little more tour guide input as in more info on the beers, more info on the landmarks etc. But had a great time.

This was a great way to spend an afternoon in New York city. My husband even got to help hoisting the sails and the views were magnificent

We had a really good time on this tour. I did not expect the beer samples to be as large as they were, and the staff on the boat were friendly and helpful. It appeared you could have more than one sample of each beer if you wanted it. The tapas-type snacks were plentiful and well-presented. There is not a lot of seating on the boat, but it seemed like there were always seats available - it appeared most people preferred to stand and socialize. We had good weather so that was a bonus - might not be quite so much fun in the rain as there is little shelter on the deck. You can get some great photos of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline from the boat. All in all, I would recommend this tour as it is a lot of fun, whether or not you like beer.

The sailing cruise was good, but the beer tasting.......well, we ended up throwing the beers overboard, they were terrible, and we didn't fancy any of the snacks!!!_br/_ Also, not enough seating for all.

A fantastic afternoon in NYC! I did the craft beer sail and enjoyed everything about the experience. The atmosphere on board was relaxed and the tall ship very spacious. The beer tasting was both fun and informative and there was guided commentary both about the beers we tasted and the sights we sailed past. I would definitely recommend this trip if you are in Manhattan on a summer's weekend.

We had a GREAT time on the sailing tour around NYC. At first, after booking the tour, I received a call that the tour was overbooked. We were extremely disappointed at first. However, Tom (owner?) got on the phone and took care of us.
