A must for visitors to get around NY. This is our second trip to NY so we were a little familiar with this hop on hop off bus.We purchased the Super New York VIP pass. The VIP allow you to get on the bus first before any other passengers waiting in line. The ear plugs provide to hear the guide is very clear.The guides have a wealth of historical information as you pass different buildings and land marks. They are also helpful with information on wher to get off the bus.We use the guide that was provided with your pass. The guide is numbered close to the street you want to go to. A Ferry ride was included so we choice to ride around the Statue Of Liberty since we had visited it last year. The Top Of The Rock Observatory was included so we visited that again. There is always some one from this company that is there to help you in Times square and at most bus stops. This is a fantastic way to get around NY

The tour and tour guides and drivers are excellent!!! The customer service at the main pickup counter really suck!!! The info they give you/dont give you is not enough and leaves you fending for yourself in a city that does not slow down. Five stars for all tour guides and drivers, one star for ticket pickup....main office and bus depot.

I purchased the four day pass for myself and my son. This was our first trip to New York. Super easy getting our VIP passes to wear around our neck when boarding the bus at the Visitors Center in Times Square. I found the guides on the buses very knowledgeable and helpful. Some were more helpful than others. My favorite guide was a female on May 12th around 7pm. She was very good with historical facts and had a dry sense of humor. The itinerary stated the last bus was at 5:30 but we wrote the last one at 7:30pm. We had just finish another tour that was all day and ended by St. Paul Chapel. We were just getting ready to call a taxi and notice our bus was still picking up passengers. We were very happy to get on the last bus going to Times Square, and close enough to walk to our Hotel. The First day in NY we rode the bus to the Empire State Building. The next day we had to take a taxi to our Statue of Liberty Ellis Island tour because the tour started earlier than the bus started picking up passengers. Our third day we went to Harlem. It was raining on that day. It was the first time we did not sit at the top. They provided yellow ponchos. A lot of people sat in the rain. I just was not feeling sitting in the rain so I sat down stairs for the first time. I loved the tickets to the Top of the Rock. The view was breathtaking. I also liked all the nice shops and the whole NBC thing there not to mention the shops. I was very happy with this tour and if I am ever in New York again (next year) I will Hop on and Hop off again.

We only went on the bus once during the four days because of choosing taxi, subway and walking a lot. The guide was very enthusiastic and educated. The trip to the Worlds biggest outlet was great. Six hours of shopping at great prices. Empire State Building at night is magical.

Very disappointing. We did this tour on our first trip to NYC and we found it very useful in assisting us to get our bearings. The guide then was very informative and pointed out landmarks and places of interest. _br/_ This time the headphone sound came and went and when we could hear the guide it appeared he was giving a one to one tour to a couple on the lower deck. Some people asked to get off the bus and the general feeling on the top deck was that this tour was a waste of money. _br/_ Transport to the outlet was good however as there were at least four bus loads of people in front of us when we wanted to go home we decided to pay for a private taxi back to NYC. Surely extra buses could be put on for peak times. _br/_ Top of the Rock was fun.

The top of the Rock was fab but very disappointed with Woodbury common not worth the trip as not cheap! As for the bus tours pathetic! As they were so infrequent we only used them once . No timetable available therefore you stand around in the freezing cold waiting for buses that don't show!

Top of the Rock is great and I would recommend. I didn't use the bus so cannot comment. The shopping trip however was badly organised and it was a nightmare getting a bus back as there were too many people for the buses. I would not use this again, I would choose a different company.

The tours themselves were very good. But waiting for the bus, there would be 3-4 other buses before our bus would come. The people were knowledgeable, but most of them spoke broken English, so were hard to understand. One night it was storming really bad and they have no evacuation plan. We sat on the top deck while it was lightning and thundering. Tours need to run later than they do. The last bus leaves the first stop at 6pm.

The hop on hop off is a great value and a good way to see the city's major sites. The tour guides were friendly and there were many of them on the streets to provide assistance in finding the right route, etc. No complaints.

Just love the hop on bus tours. We paid the extra dollars for the VIP Passes which were good. First in line and no queuing at Hard a Rock a Cafe. Only disappointment was our guide on the Bronx tour as she didn't speak very good English.

The boat tour was fantastic and when there they let us choose Empire State or RF centre. Woodbury common was great and bus was great. The bus tour was good too just avoid the busses with a cover over the front as it's hard to see through but generally very enjoyable.

This package was perfect as it gave you the option to loads for the amount of money you paid and if you didn't do everything you didn't feel cheated. We would have liked to use the buses more but sometimes there was really big queues which was the only downfall and so we would end up walking around New York. So something to take into consideration.

Excellent trip. Guides very informative. Paid extra $25/person for the VIP passes which allowed us to skip the queues at the busiest stops and also to use the "Gray Line" tour busses as well. Uses mos tof the Tours, some more than once and enjoyed the harbour cruise, shopping and Top of the Rock (although the queue was quite long for Top of the Rock, as it was after dark). Would thoroughly recommend this as a way to see New York.

Great value for money. Trip to Woodbury Common was brilliant though I would advise taking an empty case to carry shopping! All the tours were brilliant and the guides very knowledgable. The night tour to Brooklyn showed the skyline magnificently. Only downside was still having to wait in a long queue to collect tickets in Madame Tussauds despite having per booked.

A great way to see New York. Plenty of choice for routes so that most of the city can be easily covered. Even on very busy days there seemed to be plenty of buses available. Most of the on-board guides provided interesting and often entertaining commentaries. The Top of the Rock provides probably the best views of New York, even on an overcast day and is definitely worth the visit.

Shopping trip was amazing, though the trip back took 2.5 hours, an hour more than expected which made us late for a dinner reservation, but you cant help the traffic. Brilliant shops at the outlet mall. Top of the Rock was amazing, no massive queues, we have visited the Empire State before and Top of the Rock was a much better experience and of course you can take pictures of the Empire State! Didnt rate the museum tour at all. The bus tours were great, if you can get on a bus with the guide Sherwood, make sure you do, he is brilliant, gave us lots of information and was good fun with the passengers. Some of the other guides were difficult to understand as they didnt have english as their first language. We used the bus ticket as a way to hop around the city which was great. In total this was a very good value ticket. We didnt do the harbour cruise as we had done the dinner cruise so didnt want to do it again but we woudl have had we not done the cruise. Very good value

Hop on Hop off city tour. Is ideal for the first day in NY for visitors that don't know there way in NY. After that trip, one better takes the metro._br/_ Also the bus trip to Woodland shopping. Going there is indeed 1 hour. Coming back with traffic took us 3 hours..... Our overal experience is average. it could have been better.

trip was ok there was a lot of standing in cues. the cue for the cruise was just ridiculous but the top of the rock made up for that. and the buses were a disgrace seats were broken. there are other bus companies so would wait till you get there before booking.

This is the second time I have done this hop on hop off tour and I was disappointed. Compared with last year where the tour guides gave us a lot of interesting information on the city and the spots we went past this just didn't cut it. I found myself telling my friend the interesting information that I had learnt from last years tour.
