Sit on the top for sure! It rained but was still fun and we were given rain coverups. Only negative was that the driver/tour guide got a little raunchy toward the end. A little punchy or sleepless?

This is a great way to get acquainted with the sights of the city at night! Kat was the tour guide and told a lot of good jokes and had interesting stories about the city and its architecture. I did this on my second night of 3 in the city and thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the top deck. You get provided with earphones that work well, as you certainly need them to hear your guide above the rumble of the city traffic!

tour guide was great!!!!!! knowledgable and personable. there were some folks in the back causing a ruckus and she was super polite and got them to stop. we had already done a LOT of walking so it was nice to ride around and see parts of NYC we hadn't seen yet.

I loved this tour! It was a great way to see NYC at night, especially the lights during Christmas time. I decided to book this tour because I was arriving on a Sunday and only wanted to go on a short tour of the city before calling it a night. This was the perfect 2-hour tour for that. I liked the fact that we had headphones so we could hear the tour guide explain everything that we were seeing. We saw Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, the Brooklyn Bridge, etc. - so many places! The only drawback was that it was very cold since it was wintertimeThe double decker bus was only half closed on the top. So just be sure to bundle up when you go. You won't regret it! :-

Other than the fact that it was a cold winter's night and we were freezing, the views from the top of the bus were outstanding. I would do this tour again, but would remember to bring my long underwear and a nice wool blanket for my lap.

It RAINED. No view at all from downstairs windows. Not recommended if weather could be bad. Thought driver and some of passengers were going to come to blows as he wouldn't let them off.

Breath taking night scenic view of New York city skyscrapers from Manhattan bridge. This is worth just for that one moment. 2 hrs full tour of the city, there is nothing more you could expect. Have it in your things to do list when you are going to NY.

This is NYC at-a-glance. If you want a guided tour, you can plug into the bus, and listen in many languages. The tour guide staff will answer questions, and randomly point out various highlights. There's the Empire State Building. The upper deck is great, but those seeking refuge from the cooler temperature down below do run upstairs for pictures...blocking your view of the same highlight. That was frustrating. One idiot even suggested someone paint a target on Trump Tower. I couldn't believe anyone would say something like that about ANY of our presidents. I politely told him he was blocking my view, and his time was up...!

Not worth the time or even Viator's lower price. If I had a dollar for every time the guide said "You can't see it now, but on your left is ...." What sight seeing bus has window that you can't see through? They seemed frosted and had a black screening embedded in them. Very disappointed.

It was raining and cold and even though ponchos were given I think people should be given the opportunity to cancel. It was absolutely miserable for the most of the tour. From having to sit in very wet seats to having the rain in our faces. The guide was good and gave lots of information but it was difficult to enjoy or appreciate. Again, I really think if it is raining people should be given the opportunity to cancel._br/_ Kind of feel like we did not get our money's worth so were very disappointed.

I was VERY disappointed with this NY double decker bus night tour. The tour guide was not good. Rather than sharing with the whole bus about the landmarks and city history, he spent most of his time talking to the people on the lower level about things not related to the landmarks and city. He spent a lot of time complaining about the NYC street traffic which was totally unnecessary it's NY, we know streets are congested, instead of complaining he could have spent his time being a tour guide. The tour guide acted as though he didn't want to be working as a tour guide. I was VERY disappointed.

It was good! Its a nice way to see the city at night. The guide wasn't all that great and would take 10-15 min pauses and not tell you anything. So if you don't know much about the city or landmarks its a bit annoying that they aren't telling you what you're seeing. So FYI, you will need to go to the office to get your actual tickets for the bus and the people at the office are pretty rude and seem to be angry that you used Viator.

Once tickets are purchased, you're on your own! There are no instructions telling you what you bought, where to go you actually have to go to the Visitor Center to redeem your voucher for tickets - no where does it say that, when the buses leave, where/when to pick up the cruise also it says that its a night cruise but that is only if you upgrade for 10 at the pier - again, no where does it say that. A calendar or a chart of some sort would be very helpful, but no. When we went to get on the bus at the corner that the visitor center told us to go to and were yelled at by the bus driver, telling us we were at the wrong corner. There was another couple there with us who also had no clue that he ignored altogether so I had them come with me. As we started to get on the other bus, I noticed that the other couple hadn't gotten on the bus. I asked the people who did get on after me and was told that this bus driver now told the other couple they had the wrong tickets. Again, communication would be so nice. The tour itself was very nice other than the sound was off between the narration and when it got to the earphones so there were times when we had passed the attraction when the narration started. And that was only the first day we bought 2 day passes - we'll see what happens today.

I was concerned about this tour based on reviews that I read. Apparently the majority of the persons that post reviews are those that are unhappy which, in my case made be skeptical. _br/_ The tour was very good. I was happy we did the night tour as there was less noise and traffic in some areas but much more activity in the Times Square area. We got to see downtown, Chinatown, part of uptown, some of little Italy, times square, Brooklyn.

It started out great. Our guide had so much information to share with us it made the beginning of the tour very engaging. However it soon went very wrong. It began to rain the the bus company did not have any ponchos to help protect us from the rain. Not only did she not have any ponchos she was incredibly rude when we wanted to go downstairs to get out of the rain. After we were allowed to go downstairs she practically bullied us to go back up when the rain became a drizzle. There was a family from another country that was livid, it was awful the way she spoke with them. The concept is a great idea, but this company that are natives to NYC should be prepared to care for its passengers. I do not recommend, nor will I every do this again even if it were free.

This tour was a disappointment on several levels. After getting our tickets at the GrayLine Center on 8th Ave., we waited 40 minutes in line down the street. The 7:30 bus with a guide filled and we were 10 people back from the front seemingly in a good place for the 8:00 bus. However, we were than told that the 8:00 p.m. bus would now be leaving from a new location on Broadway near Times Square and we needed to walk there... only to be at the back of a new line already formed. Once again we watched as a bus with a guide filled in front of us. We made it on the second bus but there was NO GUIDE! Instead of the promised informative onboard guide we had to listen to a lame audio tape that several times talked about sites we had already passed. The audio actually repeated the explanation of Chinatown no less than 4 times when we passed it only twice. Thankfully it was a beautiful August night but the topper for this experience was being dropped off 4 blocks from where we began ...after all the literature promised we would be dropped off at the original departure point. We could not help but think of future unwitting passengers who might pick this tour to minimize walking... only to be forced to walk several blocks at the start and finish of the tour. This tour was not as described and not worth the ticket price!

I've been going to NY a few times a year since I was 9, into Port Authority. As an adult I drove in to the hotel and parked the car. This is the first time I've been able to tour the city without having to worry about taxi drivers and pedestrians. It was fantastic to do this very complete tour of lower Manhattan at sunset, as the tour crosses the East River into Brooklyn on the Manhattan Bridge. Loved it! Note to self to all people who take hundreds of photos...follow the very clear instructions and DON'T STAND UP. Most of the seats are on top of the bus for maximum viewing. One guy was almost decapitated maybe an exaggeration, but he came close! Also, when they say there are no bathroom breaks, it's not a joke. One passenger apparently chose poorly on his pre-tour meal. He ended up having to get off the bus on a corner in the middle of Brooklyn. Not his fault, but also not the driver's fault. Earbuds: the tour guide uses a microphone that goes through headsets rather than a speaker. They provide the earbuds, but if you prefer your own, it's not a bad idea to bring them.

The guide was knowledgeable, but he was a fill in and needs to brush up on more of the buildings and history, he had many crib notes. I would still take another ride with him if he was the guide. I can't remember his name but he is studying law and new a lot about the crime and related issues which was interesting as you saw the real New York through his eyes not just the glitz and glamour.

Tour itself was good, 5 stars for our tour guide Bob. 1 star for the booking experience - having booked and paid online, we had to stand in the queue at the gray line booking centre for over 30 min to just collect the tickets, as they don't have a separate arrangement for ticket collection, you have to wait to meet the agent in the same line where people walk in to chose a tour - the staff at the visitor centre refused to understand this . What's then the point of booking in advance?

Being from New York I already knew a lot of the information. Bu it was still a nice ride. I'm usually the driver so it was nice to be able to see the city as a passenger. The only thing I did not like was how the staff in the office treated their customers. The lady who checked me in was nice although I found it strange she could not scan my bar code for my ticket in my email. I had to email it to her wasted time and missed the first 2 buses. I was on the line in the ticket center waiting for my turn. A guy came out who worked there and just stood extremely close to me. You can tell he was trying to see if I would take a step back for no reason. After about a minute of standing so close he said can you move back . I wasn't blocking anything. It just stood out as treating the customer poorly. _br/_ Once on the bus the trip was enjoyable and the guide had a lot of information to share. I do recommend this trip and also print out your tickets and bring them , do not rely on the bar code in your email.

I loved hearing about and seeing all of the major sites around the city. It said there weren't any stops, but we had two courtesy stops along the way. I'm not sure why. They were only for a few minutes. I highly recommend this tour.

90 minute tour was really 2.5 hours. Included Brooklyn and a stop. Unfortunately the ear plugs only worked for half of us and that made the difference on our satisfaction with the tour. Fun guide, but just didn't hear the narration and no accomondation for it. Time could be an issue is running over planned time so watch that so you don't miss other events.

The Hop on Hop off bus is a great way to get around the city but the vendors selling the tickets and the tour guides don't know the location of pick up or drop off for the different tours - 3 times we were dropped off in a spot and assured we could pick up the next loop only to be told we had a 3 block walk in order to get that loop - poorly shown on the maps given. We had one great tour guide but the rest were just mediocre.

A total misrepresentation. The description stated we would walk on the Brooklyn Bridge Promenade. This tour did not go across the Brooklyn Bridge and did NOT walk the Promenade. Viator said it was Gray Lines fault about the description and Gray Line said it was Viator. I will NEVER trust Viator again. I spent a long time on the phone with several people trying to explain the trip as described by Viator was not the one being scheduled by Gray Line. Very disappointing. Ultimately, the tour was OK. We got to see the city lights which was the point. But, if I had known about the misrepresentation, I would never have booked this tour. I would have looked elsewhere.

I was very disappointed with this tour. We booked 4 people on a 2 and a half hour night tour of NYC with a stop at Brooklyn bridge. What we got was a hop on hop off tour with a self absorbed guide. The hop on hop off was available but we specifically wanted the walk on the bridge etc. The staff at the tourist office where we were to board we rude, uninterested and arrogant. I have done many and various tours with Viator and this was really poor and not to the standard of Viator. Honestly a waste of money

I liked the ride and got to take a lot of pictures. The staff was friendly and the ride was comfortable and the tour guide was pleasant and informative the whole way. Even on a warm evening, if you ride on the top deck it's good to have a hood or hat on hand just in case, even if it's warm because the wind can get wicked sometimes.

The tour was enjoyable and we are not sorry that we went, however, we did not see many of the sites we were expecting. We only saw the Empire State building from several blocks away we could only see the top few floors. We spent 30 minutes in Brooklyn -- not what was expected on a NYC tour. We never went passed Central Park, Grand Central Station. We vaguely saw the Statue of Liberty from the Brooklyn Bridge.

I found this tour to be pretty poor. First, the tour only lasted about an hour and 15 min. I But more importantly, we wanted to hear about sites and history, not where we could save money so we could give a larger tip. Literally, that was the whole tour: cheap eats, cheap souvenirs, awful tour.

This trip was OK, the people at the counter where I had to get my voucher were very confused, I purchased 3 tickets, only printer the bar code and the last page of one voucher since they were identical, the guys at the counter made me sign in and email them the vouchers and we couldnt get on until they received it, thank god someone who knew what they were doing finally stepped in and said it was ok because the reservation number was for all 3. So we finally got on the bus. I purchased this particular one so we could take pictures of the sites sitting on top. The bus had a cover over the top, which was ok, but it was so scratched up and dirty , pictures were a bust. Our commentor while he may have been pretty knowledable had a cold , poor guy, kept coughing and snffing in the microphone which made it louder with the ear buds, plus half the time he never finished his sentences._br/_ The tour was supposed to be between 2 to 2.5 hours, it was about an hour and a half, the reason I didnt purchase The Ride was because it was one and a half hours and we wanted a longer tour. So next time I'll purcahse the Ride.
