The facility itself is worth seeing. Did not enjoy the food, but the service was outstanding!

The food was delicious. The workers were helpful when ordering. Highly recommend. Wouldn't use Viator again because it was Restaurant Week and I feel they should have know that since they guarantee the lowest rates.

I booked for a friend and I to enjoy pre-theatre treat and catch up. We arrived to a warm welcome and were seated in a lovely position. We commenced with cocktails and ordered our starters and main. We asked for the main dish to be delayed a bit as my guest prefers to eat slow which they gladly accommodated. We enjoyed all the dishes and they even replaced a meat dish that was a little dry for my guests taste, no questions asked. Dessert and coffee rounded off a lovely experience in beautiful surroundings with good service.

Lovely ambience and food. Service was okay but not really 5 star, although the food, and as I say, ambiance, was impeccable. Highly recommend.

This was a great experience. We husband myself and 18 year old daughter enjoyed trying some Russian favourites wth a twist. Well decorated with attentive staff and good food. It's a small choice on the set menu so you need to be able to go with the flow. Beware that any extras are expensive three iced teas cost us 33!

I was AMAZING!! took my sister for her 40th birthday and from the moment we walked in we were in AAAhhh. The place was amazing, the butlers the head waiters the front desk people they were just so friendly and paid attention to you pretty close. Even to get out of the table to use the rest room or to just stretch your legs the come over and move the table for you. How awesome!! AND the FOOD WOW! I had there salad, salmon meal then Tera mousse for dessert was delicious and my sister had the chicken with the washroom in some sauce and mash potatoes and the cheese cake. I could not leave anything behind for it was to good! I look forward to going back!!

Lovely place, nice atmosphere and staff. Food was alright. Overall a pleasant fancy dining experience which was not overly uncomfortable. We felt welcome even though we were not dressed up and would probably have felt more comfortable at a hot dog stand. The staff were welcoming and friendly and at no time did we feel we should not be there which I feared we might. Other customers in there also had children and were dressed in jeans so don't be put off by the fancy reputation.

We had a lovely afternoon taking in the quirky decor whilst getting exceptional service. The food was lovely but we had to be rolled out after the three course lunch. This has been on my list for a long time sure I saw it in some movie or tv show when I was little and I am really glad I went, and would go again.

Lovely visit, it was very quiet when we went. The food was excellent with attentive service. Only thing I would recommend is to make sure they realise you have a voucher as the menu is different, we didn't realise this and ended up paying an extra 90 as we'd ordered off the main menu, which was a bit of a shock. Couldn't eat all my food....might have been the excitement of Nicolas Cage at the table next to us! Even the waiter was excited.

The restaurant would not offer us the Viator set menu._br/_ They were kind enough however to deduct what we paid Viator from their bill.

Always wanted to go here. Great service and food was good, too. Provided a good one-time experience and we were seated on the main level, as shown in the photo.

Right beside Carnegie Hall and a couple of blocks from Central Park, our lunch was very good and the service was impeccable. We were 30 mins early and walked right in... The tea service is very cool.

This was my second time here. Every time I come to New York, I'll want to dine here. Great service, very attentive and respectful. I tried the ravioli. It was much, much better than the stuff we used to eat out of cans when I was a kid. :-D

I can not rate this highly enough. 5 stars does not do this experience justice! The surroundings are sumptuous, the staff are attentive and world class (a little brusque but just what you'd expect from fine dining) and the food!! Oh my...the food!!! Without being an exaggeration: the best meal EVER!

well what can i say this was out of this world loved it from start to finish a must.
Review by: Shazza, January 2014
The experience is great and so is the food._br/_
However, the booking time given does not mean you time you will be seated... You need to give your name and wait until a table is free.

Lunch at the tea room was a true oasis of peace and tranquility in the chaos of Manhattan. The service was superb, the food was great and the atmosphere simply amazing. I think it ended up being one of the true high points of our visit.

I was so looking forward to visiting the RTR, however my experience was not a good one. I had booked this as gift to my friend who was along with me. I ordered a starter of market salad and when I started eating it buried amongst the salad was a considerable size of a piece of clear plastic. I called our waiter over and pointed this out to him and asked him to find out where the plastic originated from. He was apologetic, offered me another choice of starter, which I did take and took the plate to the kitchen. He came back to inform me that the plastic was from the bag the same had been in. I am sorry to say that from this on, my enthusiasm for my meal was not as it should have been. Myself and my guest felt we were avoided from then on and no member of the management even came forward to apologise for the plastic in my food, were we offered anything by way of apology, or goodwill gesture. Our waiter was nowhere to be seen when we were leaving our table and I wanted to tip him, as I know it was not his fault, however he appeared to be avoiding us. Every other aspect of our meal was fine, the RTR is a beautiful ornate restaurant and I am still glad to have been there, as I was looking forward to it. I do feel we could have been spoken to by the manager to apologise at least.
