Departing from Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor on Oahu's beautiful North Shore, relax on a 3-mile (5-km) cruise to your shark-filled destination. Along the way, you may see Hawaiian green sea turtles, dolphins and, depending on the season, even humpback whales!
Your safety is the upmost priority, so your expert crew will give you a safety orientation and a briefing on what to expect during your shark viewing. When you arrive at the viewing spot, strap on your provided masks and snorkels and step inside the secure shark cage. You'll then be lowered into the cobalt-blue water for a 20 minute shark-viewing adventure.
With a visibility of up to 200 feet (60 meters), you'll feel your adrenaline pump as you watch the ocean's top predators approaching you from the depths below. The sharks will swim just inches away from you, so bring an underwater camera to document this thrilling experience! Don't worry -- you're safe within the confines of the metal cage, letting you view the sharks with ease.
The sharks commonly sighted in this area are gray reef sharks, Galapagos sharks, sandbar sharks and hammerhead sharks, ranging in size from 5 to 15 feet (1.5 to 4.5 meters). The cage holds two people comfortably and can hold up to eight people at a time, depending on the weather conditions.
If you do not wish to enter the shark cage, simply continue relaxing on board -- there are ample surface-viewing opportunities as the sharks circle the boat.

Absolute Highlight. Really glad we did it .No issues with booking online thru Viator, even booking from another country. Sea bit rough, but that was part of the fun, staff really good. Glad I took my underwater camera, as unfortunately no professional video, or photo's normally done by the tour company ,was unavailable due to rough sea. I suggest getting changed into swim wear before you go, toilet and changing facilities at harbour very basic. Only slight issue, tour company's shack was closed when we returned in the boat, so all of the clients getting transport back weren't sure when we would be picked up, we didn't need to wait long, enough time to get changed in the cramped room/toilet, and walk to shop at corner for drink.

Beautiful morning boat ride on Oahu's North Shore. The crew was very friendly and answered all of our shark questions. I was only an observer and stayed on the boat but my 2 kids went in the cage to view the sharks closer. They are fascinated with sharks. It was my daughter's birthday and the perfect way to start her special day. We all loved it!

It was a great day. The crew was very informative of the various sharks we would be seeing. They gave very thorough safety instructions on the way to the cage dive site. Immediately upon arrival several sharks were present. We had 6 people in the cage on each viewing. The longer we were in the water more sharks. They averaged 4 - 10 feet in length. They weren't shy or afraid of the cage or us. They would come right up the cage bars and stare at us. We were in the water for about 30 minutes. The amount of time was just right for an old man of 72 years. Getting in and out of the cage was very easy and again the crew was very helpful. Cage diving with the sharks was on my Bucket List put it on yours. It's well worth the time and money and gets you away from the hustle and crowds of Waikiki. I would do this tour again and so would my wife.

Very excited for my grandson and brother to be taking this trip. Positives very friendly staff comfortable boat beautiful scenery. Negatives water very choppy but most of of too many people put in cage not enough room to move around. Plenty of sharks and big ones too. But difficult to dive to bottom of cage per grandson due to crowded conditions in cage and closeness of cage to boat which caused it to continue to bang against side of boat. Supposedly it was to be released away from boat attached by ropes to prevent this. Not much time in water either about 20 - 30 minutes per group 6-8 people in each. Though plenty of sharks just not enough room to maneuver.

Really cool and glad that we did it. Fortunately I had some foresight and took a little motion-sickness medication before hand, though, because you really get out there on the water--and being in a giant submerged cage for about 30 tumultuous minutes definitely doesn't help with that. The guides were very friendly, funny, and helpful, and you can buy a go-pro video of yourself in the cage afterwards if you like.

I give the actual shark swim 5 stars. Seeing those animals that close up was beyond words. The staff were friendly and attentive. They were helpful to me since I have slightly limited mobility. However, they seemed just a bit jaded? Going through the motions a bit. I bought the photo package. Which consisted of sticking a GoPro in the water on a stick. Not sure how else they could have done it since it is sharks, but still seemed lacking something. Footage was pretty amazing though and I do recommend getting it. Bear in mind that being in the cage in the ocean will knock you around a good bit. I came out with a ton of bruises. That's the main reason I recommend getting the photo package. By the time you figure out how to anchor yourself you've missed a ton of good shots. Better to spend the money and have some great photos to go with your memories.

I highly recommend doing this! It was an amazing experience. As we sailed out to our dive location I started to freak out a bit but once you get into the cage your okay. You climb into the cage with a ladder then the cage is pushed away from the boat. There are bars on the cage you hold on to so if your not a very good swimmer or have never snorkelled before like me you have nothing to worry about. It was amazing seeing the sharks swimming around the cage. I'm so glad I went through with it. If you get travel/motion sickness of any kind, i do recommend taking tablets as the boat moves quite a bit. Matt, Dave and Dave took good care of us and were a very friendly team. Definitely add this to your list to do while in Hawaii.

WOW! From beginning to end this trip was amazing. Picked up promptly and a short 30-40 minute drive to the north shore where you board the boat. Leave the harbour with around 15-20 people on board and sail for about 30minutes or less out to sea, where they stop the boat and attach the cords or whatever to the cages. They then spend a little time going through health and safety etc. AND THEN ITS YOUR TURN! More adrenaline than I thought I had rushed through me, and we must have seen atleast 15 sharks they did say it was unusual to see this many so we must have been lucky and you do spend a good amount of time in the cage. From there we returned to the boat and headed back to shore, where we ended up waiting nearly an hour for the mini bus. Well worth doing if you don't plan on returning to Hawaii for a while!

TAKE DRAMAMINE!! My husband and I both took it and we still got sick. The crew said it happens on every tour and that they've even had a naval captain get woozy on their boat! That said, the crew was great! The views of the sharks were incredible!!! We were surrounded by 5 or 6 big sharks and a few schools of fish! Even with getting ill my husband and I agreed that it was well worth it!

There are no words that can fully describe the experience. From the shuttle driver to the ship crew, we were well taken care of. The experience is one that everyone should try. The only warning is that the washroom facilities at the marina is not clean on any scale. We had a great time. You might want to take some motion sickness meds first. I didn't think it would bother me, but.... it did. We felt bad because we didn't bring any cash to leave a tip. The guys on the boat deserve it! We even came back later to pay a tip, but they were closed for the evening.

Definitely a great adventure! Book as early in the morning as possible, the waves increase throughout the day. We booked 7am and they had to cancel trips the rest of the day due to high winds. The sharks are there naturally which is cool. We got knocked around on the boat and shark cage due to waves. Glad we did this trip, but only do it if your up to for me going out of your comfort zone.

Great communication from the group. They had to cancel because of bad weather but rescheduled quickly to accommodate our trip dates. Very nice staff. Informative, friendly and made us feel very comfortable. My nephew decided not to go in the cage and they encouraged him without being pushy. We had an awesome time and saw 9 sharks! I recently went on the Cage Diving with Sharks tour with NORTH SHORE SHARKS ADVENTURES with my teenage daughter and her friend and WE LOVED IT!!! I was a bit reluctant about this tour because I did not know what to expect but everything went well..from the pick up to the boat ride out to open sea to entering the cage. The whole crew was very nice, funny and helpful. They guided my girls through the whole process and it was an experience of a lifetime!!! We were able to see many sharks from the boat and the girls were able to see them up close and personal from the cage. Thanks North Shore Shark Adventures for a great tour!!! My only tip is to take nausea pills 30 minutes before you get on the boat to avoid getting sea sick. A few who did not take the pills did.
