Our pilot Jim was friendly and very knowledgeable of current life styles and history of this beautiful island. My only regret is not requesting a an exclusive tour, was a little crowded with 5 other passengers.

Let me start by saying this was such a great tour. Number one consideration for us and probably everyone is safety. This operator is adjacent to the Honolulu airport and they simply slide across hovering at ground level into the airport, get clearance from the main control tower to taxi along the runway and take off from the airport true!. They stay in contact with the control tower for the whole tour which was so reassuring to hear, though they kindly turned that chatter off after we started so we could hear the pilots commentary. We had the closed doors, 1 hour waterfall tour, not cold in the helicopter. Great commentary from pilot Evan so well done Evan as we toured 3/4 of the island, Waikiki, Diamond Head, Hanouma Bay, Mountain region and the waterfall, the latter with the helicopter hovering between ridges ...aaagh!!, Dole Pineapple, Kaloa Ranch Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbour check out looking down on the Arizona!. Two passengers in the front with the pilot, 4 in the back which was no probs seeing everything. So good. Thoroughly recommend.

Loved the helicopter ride around Oahu. My tour went around the western side of Diamond Head and would have liked to have gone around the coastal side. While the sacred falls must the the highlight (since it was mentioned in the title, it was disappointing to have only circled around twice to be able to see them from afar. It would have been nice to have been able to hover for a minute or so to get good pictures with our cameras. Overall, I enjoyed the ride and was able to get a good overview of the island.

I guess I was spoiled after my first helicopter tour two months prior in San Francisco. Everything about that tour was perfect: seemingly brand new helicopter with air-conditioning and luxurious leather bucket seats, an excellent pilot who knew exactly when and how much to talk, beautiful weather, and amazing views. So, was a little disappointed when I arrived at the office and saw that the helicopter was quite smaller and older than I expected. I was also a little put off when I was asked for my signed paper voucher when the e-mail I recieved from Viator cleraly stated the an electronic voucher was all that was needed. The misunderstanding was quickly resolved by forwarding the e-mail to the tour opertor, but they need to get this straightened out with Viator. Anyway, our tour left on time and I was enjoying flying over the airport and downtown Honolulu when the pilot annouced that one of his gauges was reading incorrectly and we would have to return to the airport. I had no problem with that; better to err on the side of caution in that situation. After working on the helicopter for about 40 minutes, we were able to resume our tour. My biggest complaint was that I only understood about half of what the pilot was saying. I don't think it was due to his accent. It just sounded like he was mumbling. Obviously, this distracted quite a bit from my enjoyment of the tour, as did the fact that he talked incessantly. My other complaint is that we didn't get as close to some of the sights as I expected. It seemed that we were miles from Diamond Head and Sacred Falls. Perhaps there are rules about how close you can get (especially at the Pearl Harbor sites), but I was expecting to virtual feel the spray from the Falls and all I got was a distant view. Overall, for the relatively high cost of the tour, I was very underwhelmed.

A little pricey but I'm glad I opted for the Sacred Falls tour as I was only in Oahu for a few days and it let me see the entire island. My first time to Hawaii and in a helicopter so it was definitely worth it.

Aloha. The entire experience was great! Be sure to call the helicopter company as soon as you book to get a flight time that best fits your schedule. Early morning is the best for viewing weather. Also make sure to call the helicopter tour company the day before to confirm your hotel pick up location and time.
