World War II Pearl Harbor Heroes Adventure Tour

Oahu, United States of America

This exciting Oahu tour to Pearl Harbor is a full immersion experience into World War II history. From the site of the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor to the signing of the surrender aboard the USS Missouri, you’ll walk in the footsteps of America’s courageous heroes. See the USS Arizona, the resting place of more than 1,000 sailors killed in the 1941 attacks, and jump aboard the USS Bowfin to learn about its key role in the WWII battles.

Your Pearl Harbor day tour begins with a pickup from your hotel and a drive to the Arizona Memorial Visitor Center, where you'll see the artifacts from the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. You’ll then take a ride on the Navy launch across Pearl Harbor to the Arizona Memorial itself. There you can view the sunken remains of the USS Arizona and the resting place of more than 1,000 sailors killed in the 1941 attack.

Next, you’ll enjoy an audio-guided tour aboard one of the world’s most famous submarines, the USS Bowfin, which is nicknamed the “Pearl Harbor Avenger” for its instrumental role in the epic WWII battles in the Pacific. Then head to Hawaii’s newest and most exciting museum, Pacific Aviation Museum, and fly back in time to learn about history’s greatest aviation heroes.

Finally, take a special guided tour of the United States’ last and most famous battleship, the USS Missouri, where the Japanese surrendered to the Allies in 1945. This tour will provide you with a complete Pearl Harbor experience, as well as unforgettable memories of Hawaii.

Sorry for the delay in review. This was a great trip but your time is very limited. We did enjoy it very much and I would choose it again if I were coming back.

What a fabulous day! We had a terrific driver that was a wealth of information about the events of Dec7. He was very accommodating and gave us grace at tips so we had great seats and didn't miss one single thing. The van was comfortable and we had a good group. Would definitely recommend using Viator for this excursion!!

Brilliant tour, very humbling. You get to go to all 4 main areas. You aren’t allowed to take bags/rucksacks etc into the areas, there is a drop off area with lockers but you really doubt need to take bags on this trip. Had a great, informative day here. Well worth it.

The only let down was the time limit on board the USS Missouri. 1.5 hrs was not enough to take it all in

We did this in 2015 but this was at the top of our list to do and it was so worth it! The guide/driver was very good and informative and helpful. It was very impressive to see the USS Arizona Memorial, the USS Missouri Battleship and the USS Bowfin Submarine as well as the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. It was a worthwhile experience!

My husband and I really enjoyed this tour as we saw the USS Arizona, USS Missouri, USS Bowfin and the Pacific Aviation Museum and all were fantastic! Our guide, Peter, was great too and knowledgeable with the history of Pearl Harbor. We recommend this tour as you get to spend the day at Pearl Harbor and are not rushed through any of the sites.

Great tour except the navy stopped the running of the tenders out to the memorial - a huge disappointment. See the memorial early in the day as you could miss out if navy decides to stop the transfers.

This was a great tour. Our tour guide / driver Kaleo was amazing, he was so funny and had us all laughing on the bus the whole day. We visited the Arizona Memorial, the Missouri, the Bowfin and the Pacific Aviation Museum which were all great and the whole experience was moving. We met Dick Girocco who at 95 was just amazing and it was an honour to shake his hand. The bus picked us up from the hotel and dropped us back, it was well organised. If you go to Hawaii don't miss this tour!

This is a five star tour - if you are in a hurry and just want to get a quick overview of Pearl Harbor. But you need much more time to see the four museums, the films, the Arizona memorial and the USS Bowfin than what was allowed. I suggest you get yourself there and back by taxi and buy individual tickets, arriving very early because they do sell out quickly. There is so much to see and do at Pearl Harbor and we were very rushed to get it all in. The rush was exacerbated by participants who did not adhere to the strict time schedule and we wasted valuable time waiting on them! Really inconsiderate of them.

This tour included everything! Starting with a pick up at our hotel. Tickets to the Arizona, the Bowfin, and the Missouri, and the air museums. A full day of being a part of history. Moving. Informative. Shouldn't me missed.

Other than that Pearl Harbour was very good and a must see! The driver we had excellent knowledge of both Pearl Harbour and Hawaiian history. I learned more than I ever would of expected. _br/_ We had a unfortunate start to our tour. The bus smashed its wing mirror of another vehicle on the motorway and we where stuck waiting for a replacement but for about an hour which is the only reason for the lower rating.

If you're interested in World War II, but not a full-fledged buff, this tour's for you. Great for families and for seniors, as most of the sights are accessible for the physically challenged save the submarine and portions of the USS Missouri. The only site which should have been included, but wasn't, is the US cemetery at the punchbowl. Make sure to add that as an extra stop while in Honolulu, as it's well-worth-it.

Review by:   Neil K,    June 2016 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
Trip was well organized and the tour guide communicated clearly and was knowledgeable. Spent at least an hour driving around to pick up other parties at hotels and the airport. It would have been nice to spend more time at the Arizona and Missouri. We spent $150 per person, which was $50 too high.

Excellent tour company, things just run smoothly from the pick up to the hotel drop off. They driver/guide keeps you well informed the whole tour, telling you what time you are expected back at the bus and what you will be doing next. The only downside that is not explained is that the site will not allow you to have a bag bigger than a wallet, all handbags and backpacks have to be checked on arrival and can only be picked up when leaving the site at 4:30pm.

It was well worth doing this tour, you get ample time at all four of the sights. The most reverent being the Arizona Memorial. The Missouri is also very interesting and if you can, take the free guided tour on board the ship. The tour guide is very knowledgeable and you learn a great deal about this ship. You are then able to wander the ship at your leisure. _br/_ A warning however, you cannot take bags into Pearl Harbour so wear clothes that has deep pockets to put your camera without the camera bag and wallet etc in. You are able to buy bottled water once you are in Pearl Harbour. If you take a bag you will have to leave it in a locker or on the tour bus. It is a long day but worth it.

We enjoyed the trip. Our driver was very friendly. We had to stop at the airport to pick up 4 passengers that were flying in and had to wait about half an hour for them. I feel this cut into our time at Pearl Harbor. It was nice to be on our own for the most of the trip to explore the monuments instead of always being on a guided tour.

We were quite disappointed in the timing of the day. From the company description. we expected 9.5 touring hours. We were at Pearl Harbor from 10-4 6 hours. We knew that the bus would be picking up hotel guests, but we did not expect to sit at the airport waiting for flight arrivals from other islands, and returning to the airport early for guests to make their return flights. Our bus driver/tour guide was very congenial, providing lots of local information, and tried to keep us together, but the way the entire Pearl Harbor experience is orchestrated does not lend itself to big bus groups. Our group was separated multiple times due to the bus circuits. If we ever are lucky, blessed, enough to visit again, we will simply go to Pearly Harbor on our own, VERY EARLY, and spend time at each very special memorial exhibit according to our own needs. The base has its own protocol. We felt quite stressed at trying to meet the demands of the timing. Pearly Harbor should be included in every American's travel itineraryjust not sure that this is the right way to experience it.

Tour was worth our while but felt a little rushed at times. We got to see most of the sights but could of used more time on the battleship to explore the lower deck. Overall it wasn't a bad tour.

this is the second time I have done this tour we enjoyed ourselves It was a great learning experience for my 7 year old grandson i would recommend this tour for any one wanting a tour of pearl harbour by itself

The Arizona Memorial was closed due unsafe dock conditions, so we only got to ride the boat around it for a few minutes. However they re-opened it immediately after our group got back! We were really disappointed that we couldn't go on and see the memorial. Although our tour guide-Cody, was amazing. He knew so much about the island and the Memorials. Cody made everyone in our group feel like family and he was really funny. It was his birthday too so we made sure to tip him extra, he was the best. The Pearl Harbor Adventures Tour was really great! we got to see everything except the Arizona-we were supposed to though I would do it again-I really liked having a guide drive us around so we could really get lost in the history instead of the island.

An excellent tour which gives you a little bit of everything at Pearl Harbor. Would highly recommend a visit as it provides great insight on the attack and its significance. Only downside was time constraints as you traveled to multiple locations to view aviation museum, USS Missouri, Arizona memorial and Bowfin submarine would have spent a lot more time on the Missouri given the option.

I was never contacted to let me know that your tour did not pick up from Aulani. I called when we arrived in Hawaii. I was told I had to get my own transportation to Pearl Harbor. It cost us an additional 120.00 roundtrip to get to Pearl Harbor. Transportation was included in our package so we paid for transportation twice. We were told to arrive at Pearl Harbor at 8:15am and the tour would meet us. We were not met until after 9:30am. I was not sure anyone was going to show up. I called three times. The women on the phone was nice but did not care about our situation. The tour guide when he finally arrived was rude. I would not recommend this tour to anyone nor would I book it again myself. No communication.
