For an up-close and personal view of natural Florida, enjoy this eco-tour from Orlando. Based on the option you select, you will cover anywhere from 7- to 40-miles of road on a 2017 Specialized Rockhopper mountain bike. Along your ride, see many species of bird including hawks, eagles and herons. Foxes and bobcats are known to make an appearance occasionally, but alligators can always be spotted. All necessary equipment, refreshments, and hotel pickup and drop-off is included.
Start your day with early morning pickup from your Orlando area hotel, and embark on the 40-minute drive to Apopka. Once there, meet your guide to get set up on your 2017 Specialized Rockhopper mountain bike and review a few safety instructions.
Depending on the mileage you would like to cover you can choose between two options for this tour. The basic eco-tour is at a slower pace and covers between 7- to 15-miles miles, depending on the group. For a more advanced and physically-demanding tour, opt for the advanced option which covers between 30- to 40-miles in total distance. Both take place on the levees, similar to riding on a flat dirt road, so you will need to be comfortable enough with riding a bike to be able to control it on the levee.
During your ride you will have the chance to see lots of local wildlife including herons, egrets, ibises, anhingas, osprey, hawks and eagles. Keep your eyes out as foxes, bobcats, raccoons, deer, and otters are sometimes spotted along the way. You have a good chance of seeing lots of alligators either in the water or basking on the lake shore. All necessary equipment, cold drinks and snacks are provided. At the end of your tour, you will have a return transfer back to your hotel.
