Kennedy Space Center Day Trip with Transport from Orlando

Orlando, United States of America

Take a virtual flight to the moon and back at one of Florida's best attractions! On this full-day Kennedy Space Center tour from Orlando, tour the NASA facility and Apollo/Saturn V Center to see rockets and their launch pads and the Shuttle Launch Experience. At Astronaut Encounter, hear what it's like to be in space from veteran astronauts. Upgrade to sit down to lunch with an astronaut. Or get a Space Pass Plus to not only dine with an astronaut but also take a tour of the Vehicle Assembly Building and other behind-the-scenes sites.

Your Kennedy Space Center tour begins after an approximate 45-minute drive from Orlando. From the Visitor Complex, view rockets from all eras of space exploration in the Rocket Garden, and see an actual Gemini program capsule on display in Early Space Exploration. Walk beneath a massive Saturn V rocket, one of the most powerful ever built, at the Apollo/Saturn V Center and relive Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon and experience the thunderous rumble of a rocket lift-off!

Continue with two IMAX space movies viewed on five-story screens – IMAX® A Beautiful Planet and Journey To Space 3D, which takes you on a virtual trip to the International Space Station. Check out the Astronaut Encounter to hear actual astronauts discuss their experiences and get photos of these heroes. Or try the Angry Birds Space Encounter for some intergalactic fun!

Finish your day by boarding a full-size Space Shuttle mock-up and strap in for a virtual launch into space on the Shuttle Launch Experience. Orbit the earth in this awesome simulation replicating the sights, sounds and feelings of an authentic shuttle launch.

Tour Options: Ugrade your tour to have lunch with an actual astronaut! Sit down for a meal with a member of NASA's Astronaut Corps and ask everything you ever wanted to know about what it's like to be in space. Or choose Space Pass Plus, which combines all of the above with a guided tour of the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), NASA Causeway and A/B Camera Stop and a look at the countdown clock at Press Site, a crawler transporter used to move Apollo moon rockets and the Operations and Checkout building.

Finally, relax aboard the bus as you enjoy return transport to Orlando.

Brilliant day. Great tour guide on bus pointing out alligators. Loved my time in the space centre, of the shuttle era so to see one was quite emotional. Whole visit was fantastic. Highly recommend

Lack of information on the coach about how things are done at Kennedy. We wanted to go on a a more extensive tour at the facility but when we went to make the arrangements were told that this tours tickets must be purchased as soon as you arrive as the tickets sell out very quickly and if you don't buy them as you enter the facility, the tickets will all be gone, which by the time we decided to purchase our tickets, they were sold out.

Really enjoyed this tour!! Tour guide Bill was informative and shared lots of tips. When I arrived there, I felt like I knew where I was going and what to do to get the most out of the day. The ride to and from Orlando was great thanks bus driver Stewart and it was convenient being dropped off in parking lot number 1. Pick up and drop off at the hotel sites was handyand quick. One suggestion I would make is to buy your souvenirs, if you are interested in doing so, from the Apollo/Saturn Center. The selection and variety was far more extensive than the under construction gift shop at the main vistor's Center even with the allure of a 10 off coupon. You will be disappointed in the selection and may regret not having made purchases at the other place. All in all a fantastic day.

A great tour and should not be missed. Be warned though- we had to rebook and pay an additional 75 because we missed our first tour by 5 mins the first time round Traffic congestion getting to meeting point. No attempts made to contact us and no apologies. Anyway the trip is well worth it- you could spend days at the Space Centre looking at everything. It was fascinating. Food outlets there.

Wonderful place to visit, easy access and information from coach driver on how to spend the day. The only issue was the very long coach route back to our drop off point, which cost us an extra hour. We would have been better off getting off at the first hotel and catching a cab to ours.

Highly recommend this trip. As the space centre is a fair drive from Orlando it makes sense to organise these guys to pick you up and take you there and bring you home again. They were fantastic.

It was overall a good trip. I must say Mr Billyi hope i got the name right of Dolphin Tours, operator allotted to us, was very helpful with the information shared in the bus trip before we entered the center and also his advice about how to spend the time there was very useful. This is important as one have to correctly plan one's schedule if all attractions are to be given sufficient time. He surely seems passionate about his work as the guide. There was a change of bus in the return trip but it dropped us at our pick up point so not much harm there. The trip i remember was for the time 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. But entry into park is completed by about 10.00 am and passengers are asked to get back to bus by 5.00 pm , i think people should be allowed full time in center or at least for the time that is clearly stated in the programme.

Difficult to hear guide en route to Kennedy Space Centre. Liked the exhibits and guides' commentaries within the centre. Delighted to meet Astronaut Tom Jones and hear of his experiences. Enjoyed the drive around the launch pads and visit to Apollo. Define toy worth a visit!

Worth finding your own way from Kissimmee. Bus took 2 hours - over it before we got there. We booked for a Wednesday got no confirmation so tried to change our day also with no reply. This meant we went to the tour at 6.30 that day and waited 2 hours for no bus. Communication from company terrible.

Pick up was not clear since Viator did not gave us the name of the company that would pick us up. It felt a bit uncomfortable when Dolphin Tours came to pick us up from an empty parking lot and the driver could not find us on the list later the guy saw we where on his list and we could join. Rest of the day was more than perfect.

When passengers don't show up at departure time it's their own fault. Don't wait 45 minutes for them only to have them never show up. Wasted a lot of my last evening of vacation.....

Great trip only drawback was the time it took to pick up all of the people in the morning. _br/_ Kennedy Space Centre was unbelievable but please make people aware that they need to go on the bus trip at the centre to get the most out of the day. Also ensure you sit on the right side of the bus to enable you to get the best pictures.

I had been looking forward to this day trip for quite some time but was a bit disappointed in the day overall. We were delayed due to the fact that some of the travellers were running late and as a result we ended up getting to the Center late which then affected the rest of the day. Just felt like everything was rushed. We also didn't get much guidance when we arrived at the Center so spent a bit too much time trying to orientate ourselves and make sure that we saw the best of what there was to see. I would recommend that more time is set aside for the Day Trip or that it starts slightly earlier in the day to give you time to see everything.

It is great to see the Kennedy Space Center tour will give you more time to spend 7hrs in space program as 2-3hrs in coach tour to around the Space site include space museum.

The visit to Kennedy space center was one of the most amazing experience during my stay in the United state. It was a great opportunity to learn about space science, yet in a fun environment! Amazing how human can accomplish so much!

Was staying at the Loews Royal Pacific Hotel in Universal so had to get the boat transfer to Citi-Walk then walk to the bus collection/drop off point to meet the Meers tour coach for 08.00. Took about 1.5 hours to get to Kennedy Space Center. The bus driver made sure that we had our tickets and entered the Space visiting centre. and made sure that we met the 10.00am space shuttle tour and experience. Afterwards we were free to explore the complex and told to do the launch pad tour early as these get busy. For those of us that had the behind the scenes tour and lunch with an astronaut, we had to meet at 12.00 for the meal. This was a very varied choice of hot buffet food and hot and cold drinks as much as you want... and the astronaut came around and talked to us while we were eating, then did a talk to everyone that lasted for 45 mins followed by questions from the floor. We then had photos with the astronaut and went across to meet our coach for the behind the scene tour of Cape Kennedy Space Center at 2.0pm. This was brilliant and we got to see all the launch pads and crawlers and vehicle assembly buildings and had commentary on both the history of Kennedy Space Center and a little of what was going to happen in the next few years with the Mars missions planned. We were dropped off at the Apollo/Saturn V center and after an hour walking around we got the bus back to the main complex 20 mins just in time to see an IMAX film show and then board the bus back to Orlando at 5pm._br/_ I would say that to enjoy and see everything in a relaxed manor you need two days here. We managed to rush around and see most of the major things and lunch with the astronaut was well worth the extra as burger and chips would have cost just as much. It did rain while we were on the bus tour around the launch pads and secret areas behind the scenes, but it was well worth the extra..._br/_ I would do it again if I came back to Florida as there was a lot of the museum stuff we missed out on. The Shuttle launch simulator ride was not too scary. just like the star-wars simulator ride in Disney's Hollywood Studios, but more comfortable and less jerky even granny could do it!! By the time the coach had dropped everyone off at all the various hotels in Disney we were dropped off at Universal by citi-walk at about 8pm A very Long Day... but Worth It !!.....

I took this tour with the admission ticket add-on as well as lunch with an astronaut Tom Jones I believe and I wasn't disappointed at all. it was AMAZING! The space center has tons of interactive exhibits, a couple of imax movies and lots of presentations by experts. There's lots for people to do of all ages. The rocket yard was really cool as well at the actual Atlantis space shuttle! The tour guide with Dolphin Tours was funny, and personable. Next time I'm in florida, they're at the top of my list of tour guides for me and my family.

This is definitely a must see for anyone going to the Orlando area, especially first timers! The tour operator gives museum geeks like us sufficient time on site to absorb all the information available once the tour is over. The only negatives were the fact that as a captive customer base you had to pay exorbitant prices for really bad stadium food in the visitors cafeteria and initially we were just in front of a REALLY ROWDY group of high schoolers on a field trip. Kudos to our Space Center tour guide who waived these philistines through.

The full day trip out to the Kennedy Space Centre was a fabulous trip and was a Bucket List item for me. Having grown up watching the Gemini and Apollo space programs to finally get to go out to the famous launch pad 39A where all the Apollo launches were made, as well as all the Space Shuttle launches was for me very special. The tour guide and driver were very professional and knowledgeable and made for a good day. There is so much to see that I wasn't able to see it all. A bit more time at the end of the day would have been much better. The coach was well equipped and comfortable. I just wish that there were a few more hotel pick-up as I had to walk a fair distance in order to pick up the coach at a designated pick-up hotel. As well as seeing all things space we were also able to see alligators in the wild. They were all over the place in the creeks and open road drains out to the KSC. We also saw a couple of Manatees which was so lovely. This trip was very good and can highly recommend it particularly for anyone who has a real interest in the space program.

This was an amazing opportunity for me as it was the day of an actual rocket launch. I organised to go with this company because it was easy transport from and to Orlando as I did not have a car and the guide was very informative. The Kennedy centre is amazing and I could have spent days there

Be prepared for a very long day. Have on your most comfortable shoes, make sure you have a completely full camera battery, and lots of space on your memory stick. _br/_ This was one of the most amazing days, seeing so much NASA history up close and personal, it was mind blowing._br/_ It is a long drive out to the Centre, and an even longer drive back as they do all the hotel drop-offs, and if you are like us and got on and off at the last stop its 60 minutes out and 120 back, but they do put on a movie._br/_ A really great day and Julie our guide was fantastic, and meeting some of NASA's engineers was a bonus. _br/_ The Astronaut's talk was great and lovely to be able to have a photo taken - all included in the entry price- made it very special.

The Space Center itself was awesome and we loved the exhibits and the Shuttle simulation. The trip over, on the other hand, was chaotic and poorly executed. The driver was upset he had to take a detour to the Center because there were some fires along the beach. We got there late and he just told everyone we were scheduled to meet the tour at 10am but didn't think we would make it. He left everyone wondering where to go and how to even start the tour. It would have been nice for someone to go over the tour so we would know what to expect. There is another shuttle you get on once you want to go to the other campus. It was all very confusing. Once you figure out the tour about halfway through the day, the experience gets better.

The tour is amazing. The tour guide was very focussed on keeping to time in particular to hotel pick ups. Whilst at times he sounded very rushed he was very focussed. Overall the day is amazing. It's a long day, so be sure to pace yourself well. The idea would be to ensure you do the bus ride tours for the launch sites early as possible in the morning or before lunch. Look out for the Eagles as you travel, its human wild life at its best, plus the 6,000 or so gators along the way. The only thing I would change would be that currently the tour company only allow for a 5.30 pick up, however there should be another time also say at 3.15pm, for those people that should wish to leave early. Outside of that I would recommend it. My one highlight is Atlantis and the memorial for the lost victims of Challenger and Colombia, plus those from Apollo 1 and 13.
