Saint Augustine Day Trip from Orlando

Orlando, United States of America

Enjoy a day in America's oldest town, Saint Augustine. On this day trip from Orlando, head east to the picturesque Atlantic-coast town, where you can wander the cobbled streets and enjoy a meal in one of the many promenade cafes. St Augustine is a unique city filled with colonial Spanish neighborhoods, magnificent buildings and a wonderful, old-time charm. Upgrade to add a scenic cruise or trolley tour to your visit.

After pickup from your Orlando hotel, sit back and relax on the two-hour coach ride to Saint Augustine, which was founded in 1565, making it the oldest European-settled town in the continental US. During your visit to Saint Augustine, you'll have plenty of time to explore the town at your leisure, shop in the gift boutiques and dine in one of the great restaurants that line the cobblestone streets.

Upgrade to add a scenic cruise:
Relax and enjoy a one-hour-and-15-minute cruise aboard the Victory III through Matanzas Bay. Narrated by your captain, this boat tour provides an incomparable way to view St Augustine’s historical landmarks and natural sites of interest.

Upgrade to add a trolley tour:

Take a 90-minute hop-on hop-off trolley tour for an easy way to get around the city and see the sights you want to see. You can get on and off as much as you’d like, or simply sit back and ride the entire loop. The local conductors make the tour even more entertaining by providing history and humor.

Comfortable air conditioned minivan from Orlando to St Augustine. Included a hop on hop off trolley ride, advised to stay on for most of the ride then decide where to get off then wander at your leisure. There were 23 stops which finishes back near the start. I decided to get off at stop 17 at the end of the town near the oldest house and next to the river boardwalk. From here I walked the 'Martin Luther King freedom walk' signs show where he stayed and spoke. There is beautiful architecture from a variety of periods, Flagler College and Memorial Church, the St. George St pedestrian mall with the oldest schoolhouse and the old fort started in 1672. If you love history and architecture you will love this tour.

This is a great day trip. Our driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. There are many things to see and do, we could not get it all in in a day. It is worth the price in our opinion. The only thing that was a bit frustrating was the trolly was continually full at the stops so people had to wait sometimes for 30 minutes to get on the trolly. Each time the drivers would say to those left behind that another trolly would be here in 10 minutes, they dispatched another trolley right behind me. And then you could hear the people say thats what the last guy told us! This frustration did not ruin the trip though we would do it again.

Amazing trip. Beautiful town. A lot to do and we couldn't visit all places as we decided to walk and see the beauty of the small streets instead of taking the hop on-hop off. Loved the experience

Excellent driver. Clearly you could not control the weather but you might have warned us that due to it being Thanksgiving, everything was shut. Clearly not good. An expensive washout!!

This trip was very much worth it. We had to leave extremely early, because our hotel was not on the list of pick-up points, but St. Augustine is a very interesting and charming place, and we had enough time to stroll around and visit many of the historical buildings. It was useful to have bought the trolley pass.

The tour is excellent value. Beautiful stop that I will always remember. I wish I had more time there. I went on the cruise which was lovely but then I still wanted to go over the bridge to the beach area and that was lovely too.

Some good things about this tour/outing as provided by Viator were that I didn't have to drive to St Augustine from Orlando and we met some nice couple who became our traveling companions for most of the day and told us what to see and where to go when we visit their home state of NM. The city tour was great! When we go to a city for the first time, we like city tours that offer hop -on, hop-off privileges since that way we can select which attractions/places we absolutely have to see, which we can bucket list, and which we can maybe even overlook. One caution: don't try to board the city tour trolley close to the end of the tour, such as by the site where the first Catholic Mass was said on U S soil, when it's close to the time you have to report back to the bus that takes you back to Orlando. This is especially applicable if you have a group of more than 2. All of the group may not be able to board the same trolley.

Fun trip, one day is definitely not enough. Next time it will be strictly St. Augustine, forget Disney. It would be possible to spend a number of days here...

From the pick up from the hotel to Saint Augustine was very good. We visited the fort and local shops where we were made very welcome. Its a lovely historical place to visit and it was our second time there. The trolley bus is a great way to see the sights but a little uncomfortable_br/_ The old jail and old shop across the way is worth a visit.

Had a great time. The tour guide was friendly and very informative. He gave us a lot of suggestions on things to see and do while we were there. Not possible to do it all in a few hours but we were able to hit the highlights.

St Augustine is beautiful and steeped in history, so it is well worth the trip. However, that being said you are really only paying for transport. The van was not well maintained, the driver area was filled with bits of paper, the driver did not have enough brochures for everyone, as there was no running board on the van access in and out of the van was difficult. We were offered a beat up plastic stool to make it easier. A lady with a walking stick had difficulty with access, the driver did not offer any assistance.

3rd time we have visited St. Augustines, a truly beautiful place. The Trolley ride is a must, so interesting and lasts a good hour._br/_ Spoilt for choice for shops and restaurants, and our tour guide Lisa was superb.

Nice trip! St Augustine deserves more than a day though. Only 5 of us in van so very comfortable. Drivers first time on trip but made it memorable.

Solely transportation - not a tour. _br/_ Attended this tour March 2015 and added the trolley tour on once we'd arrived 20 to our driver._br/_ Overall we realised we paying solely for the van/transportation to St Augustine. Yes the van driver was very friendly and informative, was not squashy - fitted three people per seat four rows. Our driver told us quirky facts as we drove through the city to our destination the Trolley company, but it was not a 'tour'. There and back. _br/_ The addition of the Trolley Tour was great as we were able to find out more detail of the town. However the trip did often double back on itself unnecessarily. Personally being 22, I shouldn't have bought the tour - everything is so close, very easy to walk instead. Plus all of the locations to go to have an additional cost, but are all very reasonable. _br/_ We had plenty of time on the tour, but having to wait for transport it certainly made the day shorter. We chose to jump on jump off - they recommend going the whole way through. What I would do next time is walk - do the entire east side of the town, head through the central part - St George St, and then go around the bay to the Fort, do the Western side - Jail/Foutain of Youth in the afternoon - being back close to departure point by the end of the day. _br/_ Highly recommend a visit to St Augustine, just be aware that the main price is for transport and walker would be easier.

Place was good. So pretty little town. The disappointed thing is the little van. My mom sit in the back and she almost faint because it was so warm. The driver was not take care much.

The dolphin meet and feed was about 5 minutes where we get to touch the dolphin, pose with him for pics and do a couple tricks. They gave us a free behind the scenes tour. Then we ventured off to St. Augustine for the remainder of the day and we did the trolley that takes you to points of interest.

The only downside is the vehicle,it was so small and stuffy ,the local contactor was the gator tour. It is better to choose Florida dorphin tours

well operated great day out from Orlando, we booked trolley which work really well, as you can hop off at any point of interest and hop back on later. we only had time to visit the prison and fort, so still loads to see on our next visit, we recommend this trip for its historical points of interest.

St augustine is a beautiful town to visit, makes a lovely change from visiting the theme parks.I would recommend the trolley ride as you could see far more and learn the history of the place, we also went to the san sebastian winery where you are given 6 samples of gorgeous wine plus given info on all of them.

Great day out. Lots to see and places to eat. Interesting little shops. Far too much for one day, would recommend a 3 day visit. Lots of history, however enough to catch the interest of any age group. Only down thing on the day might be the length of the trip too and from, St Augustine, and bus being small is a little cramped. I would recommend this visit to friends.

I enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide Ishmel was very nice and knowledgeable! I loved all of the interesting facts he told us about Orlando and Florida in general on our ride down. I did the trolly ride and got off at different stops to explore. I visited the Spanish Military Hospital and also climbed the tower of the Lighthouse.

Good trip but because there wasn't a lot of people on it we had a mini bus.it was cramped and hot but the driver was asking us how we were feeling and if it was cool enough. St Augustine is a lovely place and the best way to see it is on the trolley bus that takes you to all the landmarks.please be aware that is 20 dollars each to use for the day, after paying only 18 dollars for a fortnight on the I trolley on international drive it seemed a bit high. Nevertheless it's a lovely place to visit

Saint Augustine was a great day visit. The hop on hop off transport was excellent and I would strongly recommend to improve the visit. The only downside was the transport provided from Orlando to Saint Augustine (2.5 hours each way) in a mini bus with little conform or leg room.

unfortunately, it was teeming rain and very windy on the day we went...that was not the fault of the tour or the guide. it was a two hour trip and we were packed into a small van like sardines....it was not comfortable. the guide on the bus was just ok......

This tour is definitely worth seeing. There is so much to see and do from riding on the trolley bus to visiting the old jail or old fort. This was such a relaxing break from the parks and would like to visit again in the future.

Far too much to see in one day. This tour gave us a taste for Saint Augustine. Next time we would need at least 3 days to see everything.

I was charged a $15.00 fee for parking our car at the hotel where we would meet the bus. The trolley was fantastic and St Augustine was what I expected - lots of history. If I would do this trip again, I would definitely request the trolley. The tour guys on the trolley were very informative and friendly.
