Viator VIP: Keeper-for-a-Day Program at Wild Florida
Orlando, United States of America
Experience what it’s like to be a zookeeper at Wild Florida outside Orlando with this Viator VIP. The 4.5-hour tour will immerse you among the animals and plants indigenous to the Central Florida Everglades. Learn how the animals’ diets are prepared, how to properly feed them and the importance of keeping their surroundings healthy and stimulating. Throughout the day your expert guide will share commentary about the lives of the animals and the habitats they live in. This small-group tour is limited to four people, ensuring a very personal encounter with the guide and the animals.
Make your way to the 15-acre Wild Florida grounds to begin your adventure. Though you’re just a 45-minute drive from Orlando, you’ll feel as though you’ve been dropped into the wilds of a distant, exotic land. Surrounded by 100,000 acres of Everglades, you won’t see any human developments or homes — just the sprawl of nature.
An experienced animal keeper details what to expect for the day and informs you about what makes the Central Florida Everglades a unique habitat that supports dozens of species of wildlife. Learn about the distinctive habits of the park’s gators, eagles and other birds, and plants.
Prepare your nerves for a private gator demonstration with the expert staff, which will give you the opportunity to feed the 14 footers... if you dare. You’ll be able to take a photo to prove it.
See the Everglades up close and personal when you board an airboat for a fun-filled hour coasting across intriguing swamps and wetlands. This VIP tour wraps up with an authentic Florida barbecue lunch, where you’ll have time to relax and recount your favorite experiences of the day before you head on your way.
If you were ever interested in seeing what a career working with animals is like, this is your chance to experience it.
Please note: The minimum age for this tour is 12. You will be able to buy a flash drive of all photos for $25.

We had a mix up with online scheduling and although we did not get to do everything as planned, the staff was very gracious, the facility very nice and both Viator and Wild Florida handled everything very professionally and went above and beyond expectations to make it right.
