Grand Canyon via Sedona and Navajo Reservation

Phoenix, United States of America

A trip to the Grand Canyon is simply a must-do for anyone visiting Phoenix. On the way to America's most iconic piece of natural beauty, drive through the Sonoran Desert to the red rock country of Sedona, and then continue along a beautiful 17-mile route in Oak Creek Canyon. At the Grand Canyon, drive 23 miles around the rim and make stops to admire the breathtaking landscape and take photos. You’ll also visit the Navajo Reservation, where you can pick up some authentic souvenirs.

Your day trip from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon includes some of Arizona's most scenic landscapes. Start with a journey through the Sonoran Desert to the red rock country of Sedona, where you will make a morning coffee break and a photo stop. Take a stroll through stunning Sedona before continuing your tour along a pretty 17-mile scenic drive in Oak Creek Canyon.

You’ll travel up into the San Francisco Mountains surrounding the Flagstaff area and continue along sections of historic Route 66 through the town of Williams. You’ll arrive at the Grand Canyon around lunchtime, and you’ll have a break to eat, drink in the boundless wonders of the canyon from great overlooks, take a short nature walk or browse shops for souvenirs handcrafted by the local Indians.

After your lunch break, your guide will take you on a 23-mile driving tour along the rim of the Grand Canyon. This is the main event – incredible view after incredible view of the canyon will keep your jaw in a permanent dropped state. You’ll stop at viewpoints along the way to learn about the canyon from your guide and take pictures.

The rim tour takes about two hours, and then your guide will escort you by van from the canyon to the Navajo Reservation, where you’ll stop at the historic Cameron Trading Post, an authentic Navajo trading post. Here, you’ll learn about the Navajo people, have some time to shop, and enjoy views of the Little Colorado River Gorge and the Painted Desert in the distance.

Conclude your tour with a journey across the Navajo Reservation, back through the mountains of Flagstaff and into the Verde River valley, where a snack stop will be made early evening.

This tour is one of the best I have every taken. I did not believe I could see everything in a day But it is possible. Our multiple guides were experts on Arizona history. This tour got me hooked on Viator.

The tourist guide are simply amazing. Both are very accommodating and friendly. It’s a good tour for a day, but I hope there’s a bit more time to explore. A little disappointing for not stopping at the red rocks of Sedona for some photos. And no time for lunch.

Wonderful, wonderful tour! Everything was great. Just wish we would have had more time at the Grand Canyon and the weather could have been warmer, but one cannot control those things. Bea, our tour guide, was exceptional, so much information and a joy to spend the day with. Sedona was great to see also. And lunch at the Indiana reservation was good also. I need to return to AZ! Thank you again for a wonderful day! Definitely recommend this tour and our tour guide Bea!

Overall the tour was very good. Our driver Mike knew the area and all the best places to eat along the way. We understand due to the time constraints in traveling that distance and squeezing in the number of stops in that time that there is only a limited amount of time at each place . We would have liked to stayed longer at each of the stops. The back of the van was very rough riding in places. Again. not really the fault of the tour operator.

This tour is pretty amazing and my crew and I had an amazing time with MIKE who drove us all day and gave us this amazing tour of the towns of Sedona and Navajo and the Grand Canyon. All the major points were carefully chosen Moran Point, Echo Point, Watchtower and HupiHouse and planned and we had timely departure and return! Thank you very much !!!

This trip was an amazing experience. Our tour guide, Wayne, was exceptional. He has so much knowledge about every aspect of Sedona, the Navajo Reservation, and the Grand Canyon. His knowledge was as astonishing as the views! We were so thankful to have Wayne as our guide. Definitely worth every penny!

FANTASTIC! Other than the van was rattling and loose windows - the tour was fantastic, beautiful sites, great nibbles along the road and the Grand Canyon... breathtaking! A MUST DO if you are short on days in the area and want to maximize your stay! TOP NOTCH!

The guides headset had malfunktion, so we could not hear a lot, long time we have been in shop, but short in canyon, to see and taking photos the guide should sometimrs drive slowlier or stop.

The tour was amazing. The bus had 2 cup holders and 2 charging outlets at each seat. Driver was very knowledgeable. The only complaint I have is that the bus did not pick up at our hotel and it cost us 30 each way for an Uber and they told us to arrange pickup an hour before our departure time. So we left our hotel at 5:15am, arrived at pickup point 20 minutes later and did not get back to our hotel until 8:45 p.m.. it was a 15 1/2 hr day, very long and an extra 60 added the cost of the day. The food stop was at a grocery store that did not have plain regular or decaf coffee only gourmet and it was so early that the Wendy's wasn't open. Overall with the extra aggravation I would rate 7 out of 10. We have another tour tomorrow with a different company and they are picking us up here which gives us an extra hour here.

It was amazing tour, And Sheldon our tour guy went above and beyond with all the extra. The only down side was we didn't see much of Sedona, 30 minutes, but the Grand Canyon was breath taking looking back at pictures does no justice. You have to do this trip in your life at least once

Fantastic trip and a very convenient way to see the Grand Canyon. Loved the drive through and stop at Sedona. The guide was excellent and made every one comfortable. He talked about the region, its history and culture. It was all very enjoyable. I am glad we took the tour, rather than drive, since we were able to enjoy the sights during the drive and were able to get to some wonderful overlooks and places for photos.

Every now and then you run across an individual doing what they were born to do. Wayne is just such an individual. If you ever get the chances to book a tour with Wayne do it!! This was a true interactive history lesson and, without question, the best tour I have ever been on. Wayne is energetic, attentive, polite and most of all, a true historian of the Grand Canyon, Sedona Navajo Reservation area's. Do not miss this tour.

It was a very thorough tour with lots of information given by the van driver/tour guide. Plenty of time was allowed at stops and a very friendly atmosphere all around. I guess the Grand Canyon wasn't as overwhelming for me as I thought it would be. A 14 mile wide crevice just isn't that spectacular in the grand scheme of things.

The tour was wonderful, as was our guide Mike. He was knowledgeable and funny and stopped at places that weren't crowded so we could have some great photo ops. We had just enough time to pick up souvenirs between the various destinations. All in all a well planned tour. I'll do it again the next time I visit Arizona!

You know...the Grand Canyon was beautiful, and we stopped at a lot of vantage points for photo ops...but...the drive to and from the Canyon made for an incredibly long day. Of course we knew that going into it but it was just way too long.

We had a wonderful tour of the Grand Canyon and Sedona area. Corey was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable about the sites we saw. She kept the drive lively with her facts and information. She's also a wonderful and patient photographer! Corey reserved tables for our group for lunch, which was great, so we didn't have to wait to be seated. The spots we stopped to see the Grand Canyon were magnificent. All four of us agreed it was a great way to see the Grand Canyon and surrounding area, especially for the first time. We all agreed though, we would've liked more time at the stops...each stop seemed to be short, kind of hard to appreciate the amazing beauty when you're on a tight time frame. I'm not sure how to remedy that, but just some food-for-thought. Overall, a wonderful experience that we would definitely recommend!

I enjoyed this tour very much! Cory, the guide, made the long trip entertaining with a little bit of history and charisma. The sights visited were excellent, the Grand Canyon is the main attraction here, and it is superb, but also the visit to Sedona and Indian reservation were excellent too. For a day trip we managed to cover a lot of ground.

We had the most amazing experience on this tour. We were picked up right on time at our hotel at 6:30 AM by our tour guide, Corey. Our entire day was filled with an amazing amount of information, sights, experiences and views. Corey was, by far, the best tour guide that we have ever encountered on our many trips. She was extremely personable . very efficient, and very patient with our questions. She went above and beyond any expectation in that she had so many insights and incredible knowledge of the entire area. She even stopped to allow us to touch and smell some desert plants and was so excited for us to have our first view of the Canyon. Our tour included a stop at the Navaho Reservation trading post and Cory made sure to help us order our lunch so to get the feel of the Southwest. There are probably things that we didn't mention here because there were so many wonderful experiences that we enjoyed. From our pickup at 6:30AM to our drop-off at 8:00 PM. there was not a minute of boredom or displeasure. An amazing tour that we very highly recommend. Ask for Corey!

The guide and driver Corey was excellent.Group of 11. She keeps on talking giving some great in-sights to all the places to be visited. Corey picked up me from north Phoenix around 6 45am as stated. She calls a day before to confirm the time she is going to come.First stop: Red Rocks formation around 8 30am around 10 min for some photos. Next stop Sedona around 9am roam around the town you get 45 mins to visit the shops etc. Corey picked up at the same spot around 9 45 am. Next is a long ride to the Cameron Trading Post at the Navajo Reservation. We were already reserved a table by corey for lunch. We reached around 11 30 am. Had lunch at Cameron Trading Post and some shopping, started around 12 30pm . Now time to reach the Grand Canyon, reached the first view point, Desert View. This was truly amazing. Corey made all of us look down until we reach the view point, less than 2 mins walk to the point from the bus._br/_ Excellent views, we reached this point around 1pm. Got 40 mins here, you can even climb the desert tower if you wish. Started around 1 45pm, great ooh-aah points along the road.Next stop is for photo shop where you can act like you're climbing back. Next up was the el tovar hotel and excellent view.you get to spend around 45 mins here. relax and stroll around. It rained and formed a rainbow in the canyon. This is the last view of the Canyon around 3 45 pm . Total time spend at the canyon was around 3 hours. We head back after the journey. Go through Williams, no stopping. Next stop for fuel around 5 pm. Next stop for dinner at subway or burger king around 6 pm. Head back to drop-off points. Kind of tiring after finishing up the Canyon, but you can relax will heading back. Corey also stays quite while driving back until we reach Williams and the stops on way back. Thank You Viator for such a memorable journey.

We loved this tour although it was very cold on top of the Grand Canyon this time of year. However it was a true winter wonderland!!! Wayne was an excellent guide who gave us the complete history of everything. We thought Sedona was very quaint but I would suggest that the cafe should try to offer something gluten free. Thank you Wayne for a lovely day and many blessings to you!

He was very nice and we would enjoy a tour with him if we are ever in the area again.we were disappointed to miss the grand canyon and navajo reservation but I guess Mother nature had other plans.

I traveled from Phoenix, AZ for this tour. The Tour Guide, Mike, picked us up at the Drury Inn and Suites Airport location in Phoenix bright and early at 6:30 am. It was a bit of an adventure getting started because the city was preparing for a marathon that morning and many streets were blocked, however, Mike made it happen and safely gathered each tourist for our adventure. _br/_ The first stop was at a McDonalds for a quick breakfast and off to Sedona we went. Mike was very informative about the terrain and I am glad that he was, who knew that saguaro cactus only grows in the Sonoran Desert? I won't spoil it by sharing other interesting tidbits, you will have to go for yourself. _br/_ The red rocks of Sedona are amazingly beautiful. The little town in Sedona was very quiet because our trip was on a Sunday morning and that was fine for me because I did not go for the shopping. The stop at the Navajo Reservation was interesting. the gift shop was really cool. The restaurant was great and so was the food. During that one day we experienced several weather conditions. it was 58 degrees in Phoenix, much cooler in Sedona, sleeting in Flagstaff and Snow at the Grand Canyon. The canyon was covered in white fog and it was beautiful however we were unable to see the canyon. right away. nearly 90 minutes into the trip before the fog lifted and we could actually see the canyon. It was breathtakingly beautiful. Mike was very accomodating and took us to every vantage point possible to see the canyon. Thanks Mike! You Rock!

The journey through Sedona to the Canyon was brilliant--beyond our expectations. Our guide was wonderful, informative, knowledgeable, and fun. We were whisked away to Sedona where we were told to eat breakfast. As we sat there, the tour guide came up and startled us with you were suppose to get that to go. So we quickly rushed to get a take out only to be waiting for him another 15 minutes. We did not see Sedona, only a drive through. The rest of the trip was torture being asked questions, over and over and I personally felt picked on. Totally unnecessary. He talked way to much and insulted many of us during the tour. I would not take this tour with Mom and Pops tours but find another company. The tour itself is good but only with a good tour guide.

What an awe inspiring trip. I planned this trip as a surprise for my husband and we both enjoyed it immensely. The tour guide, Wayne Parker, was incredibly informative about the Grand Canyon including the sites, vegetation, climate and Hollywood connections along the way. His depth of knowledge was immense and there was never a dull moment during our 12 hours together. Pictures and videos do not give the Grand Canyon the justice it deserves. You must take the time to see this in your lifetime, to really see the beauty in this wonder. It will always be one of those wow moments my husband and I will remember for the rest of our lives and was truly enhanced by a tour guide that knew his stuff. Thank you again for an extraordinary trip. :-

This was a good tour and the guide was well informed. One slight problem was that the air con on the bus was either on fully or off so we and our fellow passengers were either freezing or too hot. But otherwise a good day.
