Considering the price, I shouldn't be complaining much, but the tour was not as described in totality._br/_ We visited Karon View Point, Karen lookout, Wat Chalong, and made stopovers at a small Cashew Nut factory tourist snack shopping stop and a China-owned Jewelry shop your typical tourist trap where price tags have far too many zeros._br/_ I think? we drove past the other beaches that were mentioned in the description, and drove past Phuket Town._br/_ In summary, only Karon View Point and Wat Chalong was worth the visit.

The tour was good but the guide’s English was difficult to understand. It detracted from enjoying the tour.

This is a nice introductory sightseeing tour of Phuket and area, with the opportunity to buy some nice fresh nuts and jewelry. The tour guide could be better.

This tour is a good way to get an overview of the island with some history without having to be committed to an all day tour, especially for the price. A few suggestions to improve the tour include having a microphone and speaker in the van so folks in the back can hear what's being shared by the guide more easily and to visit or at least drive to see the Chalong Big Buddha in the mountains instead of just pointing it out. Otherwise, we learned and saw quite a bit of the island and would recommend it to others.

This was a great tour to get a overview of Phuket and the area! Our guide was very friendly and we learned a lot. There were times to take outstanding photos the lookout of the ocean and beach areas were postcard worthy ! Highly recommend......well worth the low cost of the tour !

Not my favorite tour. The guide was nice and knowledgeable but we did not appreciate the tourist stops. Not enough time in the old Phuket with a walking tour maybe and TOO MUCH TIME at the GEMS' FACTORY !!!!!!!

Very enjoyable trip, prompt pick up good air conditioned bus took us to loads of nice places with fantastic views and then to a nut factory and to top it all the biggest jewellery work shop and show room in Phuket, well worth it and not that expensive.

Our tour guide was great. We stopped at more places that was said. The cashew nut factory was a delight. We bought nuts after sampling a lot. Another place that was not on the list was the Jewellery store. Biggest in Phuket. a must seen for a traveller. The tour was good and gave a lot of info icw Gems. Stayed longer than expected bought more than planned. Highly recommed this tour.

This trip is great value for money! _br/_ DJ our tour guide (14/08/17) was brilliant he was a very funny guy and never stopped talking but he made it a great day! _br/_ My only tiny criticism is that we didn't actually stop in Phuket town and was impossible to take any good photos out of a mini bus window.

Review by:   Lynne,    August 2017 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
I chose this of many half day tours because it did not mention going to any factories or sales outlets but it did a tour of old Phuket, Wat Chalong Temple and also looked at Rawai beach which I particularly wanted to see. In fact we went nowhere near Rawai, passed through the others, did go to Karon viewpoint and I was very happy when we stopped at Wat Chalong. We shot down 1 street in Phuket and the guide pointed out 2 old Colonial buildings. I actually asked another passenger when we were touring Old Phuket and he told me we had just done it. The serious business of the day was a very uninteresting stop at a cashew factory where someone pointed out some plastic fruits hanging from a tree. We were followed around, as we looked at all the samples, by people with baskets. The other serious business of the day was a gem factory where were were not given an opportunity to see the crystals and gems in their raw state but were rudely pushed into salesrooms and encouraged to buy jewellery. We had enjoyed chatting to some people from another country and intended to arrange to meet up but our guide sent us outside to wait with others going to hotels in our areas and we never saw them or him again. We actually completed the tour feeling very angry that we had been so misinformed. The visit to Wat Chalong was the only interesting part for us. A waste of many precious hours.

Review by:   AmberJoyce,    July 2017 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
My husband and I booked this for our first day in Phuket, hoping it would orientate us to the island and give us a lay of the land. It started out lovely with a prompt pickup from our hotel. We had a small group of 6. We first visited a couple of beautiful lookout points, where our guide offered to take photos. This was the peak of excitement for our journey. Our next stop was at a monkey show - I use this term show leniently. Our driver took count of who wanted to actually attend this show, and of 3 couples, only one had any desire to partake. This meant the rest of us sitting for nearly an hour wasting the start of a beautiful day amongst a compound that included a shooting range and go kart track. Safety standards are clearly well below that of North America, because you could walk into the shooting range from outside and enter directly behind the shooters. While we were waiting I had to use the bathroom and was guided to an area behind where the monkey show took place. What I saw left me speechless and heartbroken. Dozens of monkeys in cages smaller than that of most birds, confined with a chain around one leg. They all looked sad and lethargic as I walked past them, none had food and I do not recall seeing water. The monkey show I witnessed while on my way back consisted of a man hauling a coconut or some food up on a rope and forcing a sad looking monkey to perform on a dirt floor underneath what was essentially a tarp roof. The couple attending did not look happy, and it made me terribly sad. Our next stop was a cashew nut factory, which you do not learn more than the very most basic things about harvesting a cashew nut, and then are given plentiful time to buy products from the factory. It is not a tour, not really a behind the scenes, but a marketing effort that is evidently working with this tour company. Our last stop was a gem factory. If you've done any research into visiting Thailand, you would know that every travel website and blog recommends against it, and for good reason. Upon arrival, you're led and forced onto a ride which is a small mine-cart looking train which brings you room to room to see the process of how gems come to surface, through a series of screens, audio and props. At this time your guide is sitting down near the café area, until you're through. You then go to an area where you can see many workers preparing various gems and get a behind the scenes look at this stage. Finally, you make it to the point of why I'm sure they offer this excursion, you enter a very large showroom and are paired up with your own personal assistant to walk you through and show you the various stones. There are 3 areas, which if you had to break down would be , and . Once the employee you're paired with sees that you do not have an interest in purchasing jewellery, he will fall from the face of the earth and you will not see him again. So in four hours of our tour, we enjoyed ourselves perhaps 1/5 of the time, hence the 1/5 star rating. I do not recommend. Take a taxi, uber or walk to the view points. Do not bother with the rest. It felt like a marketing pitch rather than a tour.

We enjoyed the tour, it was definitely worth it. Our tour guide Lita was very friendly, she told us a lot about Thailand history and gave us some tips about places to visit and local food which is worth trying. Lita and the driver picked us up in the morning from our hotel, it was minibus with approх. 13 tourists including us 2. They showed us several beautiful beaches, the cashew nuts factory, the Chalong Temple and the jewelry factory with the jewelry shop. The excursion took us approx. 4 hours, it was well organized, rather informative and definitely cheap. Highly recommend this tour to everyone who visits Phuket for the first time and need to get acquainted with the peninsula.

The Tour was great until the end at the gem factory, we were told at that point we will switch vans and our tour guide departed. I believe it to be so that we would spend more time shopping at the gem store on our own. Our tour guide gave us an option to stop by other locations at an additional, we chose Big Buddha. It was a great bargain as is the rest of the tour.

The tour guide was very helpful however this was more about promoting the cashew factory and the gem warehouse than seeing any real sights. I didn't enjoy it at all. I was hoping to see some of Phuket's key scenic spots.

From booking to the actual trip it is smooth. Tour East Thailand it actually nice enough to fax a memo to the hotel reminding me of the meet up time one day before the trip. The pick up is on time as promised. The guide is interesting and knowledgeable and open to any questions you have. He is also helpful in helping us take photos. It is not mentioned here so here is the itinerary for the tour. Stop 1 Karon View point, Stop 2 Windmill View point, Stop 3 Wat Chalong Temple, Stop 4 Cashew Nut Factory, Stop 5 Phuket Town/Chinatown area, Stop 6 Gems World. Personally, I loved the 2 Viewpoints the most, the view there is really exceptionally beautiful.

Phuket tours covered a lot of places in province. We have been to 3 beaches and had excellent picture opportunities. What I did not like is when I was picked up, we drove yo the hote, and ypur guide told me we need to wait 40 monutes for other 4 people. Also, this had surprise additional payments: if you wanted to go to see Big Budda, or see monkeys, or one more option, we need to pay 300-500 baht to the driver, because private tuk-tuk costs 2,000 baht as we were ecpkaibed. I did not go up to see Big Budda, because it is just new commercial cement structure. I've seen many old and highly artistic scilpture. So, I waited. Then, we wete taked to cashew factory and store in hope soneone buys nuts. I did not, thus waited again. At the end, we were taken to Gemstone Jewerly Factory. I was not preparedto purchase rubus or diamobd, did not take my credit card, thus looked stupid when salesperson was showing me jewelry.

Expect value for money and a great opener to Phuket and it's surroundings. Our tour guide was 'Fon' me and my partner found her to be informative and very nice. Be advised you do not stop at the big buddha but will be asked to go to tiger kingdom/ go carting for extra - our tour declined. We enjoyed the view points and Wat Chalong Temple is excellent - You stop at a cashew nut factory and a gem factory which seemed strange at first but are not pressured to buy anything and ended up being a enjoyable experience. Thanks

This was a great tour at a ridiculously low price. 2 stops at lookouts for great views of the coast. Plenty of time at the temple to look around. Cashew nut factory was interesting. Only disappointing part was the jewellery store - far too much pressure from the salespeople. Overall a great half day.

This was a good trip. We were able to see many of the key tour spots of Phuket. We visited the highest point, the Buddhist temple and cashew factory and ended with the Gem factory. We enjoyed the cashew factory but mostly because we had an opportunity to taste and purchase items. This was fun! The highest point of Phukey was beautiful to see. Our tour guide was willing to answer all the questions we chose to ask and would often point out key places to visit while in Phukey. The Gem factory was informative, but I didn't really like that it was designed for the tour to end there as it seemed there was a lot of hope that we would buy some very expensive gems because we were tourists. But again, the educational experience was worth the time along with meeting some wonderful people who also were on the tour. I would caution if you have trouble riding on a bus all day and getting on an off periodically, then, you may get a little car-sick. But, you will definitely have a good perspective of the city and its highlights after embarking on this tour.
