Kutna Hora Day Trip from Prague

Prague, Czech Republic

Visit Kutna Hora, an old mining town founded in the 13th century and famous for its silver mines, on this guided coach trip from Prague.

During the Middle Ages, profits from the Kutna Hora silver mines brought fame to the lands of the Czech Crown, and Kutna Hora became the richest and most powerful town.

Admire the Gothic St. Barbara's Cathedral with its valuable murals and the former royal mint which once produced so-called Prague groschen and gold ducats. To date Kutna Hora has retained the character of a medieval city and rightly belongs to the most important UNESCO heritage sites in the Czech Republic.

The churches were beautiful, but our guide the old lady was rude to my mum and other participants from the start, she looked like she didnt want to be there. We were rushed everywhere,no times for photos or questions. I felt not wanted and highly dissapointed.

The tour guide was knowledgeable. He gave the tour in three languages. We felt a little rushed through the Sedlec Ossuary. We would have liked more time to spend there, but we had a lot to cover during the tour. After the ossuary, we went to St. Barbara's cathedral, which was beautiful, and walked around Kutna Hora. It was a nice 1/2 day trip out of the city.

This is a must when visiting Prague! Helen was our tour guide and she was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and shared great information. the Sedlec Ossuary is fascinating! Kutna Hora is a lovely place. It was definitely worth the visit!

It was well organized and the travel to the location and back was pleasant. Tri-Lingual so you could loose track of the translation and info but fine otherwise.

In spite of the cold and rain we enjoyed our trip to Kutna Hora. The visit to the ossuary in Sedlec was fascinatingand a little bit creepy. It reminded us of our tour of the Paris catacombs.. St. Barbaras cathedral was beautiful and our visit to the Italian Court was interesting though brief. Our guide was knowledgeable and had a fairly good command of English she was occasionally a little difficult to understand. She was willing and able to answer all of our questions. There were just 14 on the toura nice number. The group itself was interesting because it was a very diverse grouppeople from Japan, Dubai, India, Serbia and the U.S. We would certainly recommend the tour.

Not a very entertaining trip. Was bored most of the day and the guide didn't provoke much excitement about what we were visiting.

This trip was not well described. You end up going to three places, and the Italian Court was the worst. You are only at each place for 20 minutes and the only cool one was the Bone Church.

A good day trip to take if you have the time. The Church you visit is shocking as well as the history.

We took the half day trip to Kutna Hora on Friday 1st December. I think at this time of year it is best to go in the morning rather than the afternoon to make the most of the hours of daylight. The journey was very bumpy - Czech roads are not smooth! The guide made the travelling time go fast with interesting commentary. The Ossuary is a sight well worth seeing as is St Barbara's cathedral. I especially enjoyed the visit to the Italian Court to hear about the silver mining and the coin minting, The 3 places altogether provided an insight into medieval and early modern life in the City.

Very nice tour. It is a quick day but for someone who had limited time and was due to fly back that night, it was perfect for me. The main reason I booked the trip was for the bone church, however you do get to see some other sights around Kutna Hora including a beautiful church. Tour guide was very knowledgable. The only downside is that you do not have time to explore on your own and there is very limited time for lunch so if you do have more time or want to do that you may want to book a longer tour. Overall very happy with the experience and would recommend.

Fun day trip, I would definitely recommend taking. The coach that drove us to and from Kutna Hora was very comfortable, which was nice. The guide was so friendly and informative, she really made the trip fun. We visited the bone church, St. Barbara's Cathedral, a castle, and walked around the town square. It's a nice little adventure away from Prague, and a great way to see the country.

Long bus trip for what amounted to a pretty short guided tour. The church was beautiful and fun to see, the tour of the mint was also great.

An odd day trip. A long bus ride for what amounted to a relatively short tour. The church first church was beautiful, and the tour of the money printing area was great, but the ossuary was meh. We expected something perhaps reverent? Instead it was morbid. Skip and spend some more time in the city doing something else.

Terrific day. Excellent value for money. Our guide gave us extensive commentary which was fabulous._br/_ Kutna Hora was an extraordinary experience and the other cathedrals were simply magnificent; fabulously so when one comes from a comparitively young country like Australia._br/_ Really great day.

I wish I could say that I liked this tour but it was such a waste. The only interesting thing was the bone church. But its super small and only about 20 minutes of the entire day.

People look at you funny when you tell them about this place, but it's a one of a kind and worth the day to come and see it. Our guide, Helena, was excellent, keeping up a running dialog about what we were seeing as we drove along in English, German and Italian, with some side conversations in Dutch and Japanese --such a talent! It was all carefully planned, but as the day progressed, I think most of us began to appreciate that the time allocations made sense. We saw the Bone Chapel, St. Barbara's Cathedral and the Numismatic Museum that I could have skipped. It was an informative and interesting tour, but pack some nibbles because there is no lunch break.

The bone church is most likely something that you've never seen before. It's beautiful and a little creepy at the same time. Kutna Hora was less crowded in Prague but equally as charming. Great to see the Czech countryside and small towns/villages compared to Prague.

This was a great tour. The time was just right also. The Bone Church and St. Barbara's Cathedral were both amazing. A must see. The only thing I'd change was to make sure the shops and all are open in the square we had free time in. Nothing was open. Disappointment. Otherwise, the guide and sites were amazing.

we have been on similar trips to Kutner Hora before, this was a let down the guide wouldnt shut up was rude whenasked questions and gave us ver little time to see things and get refreshments ie the bone house we had 30 mins to park the coach unload walk to the site get in take pictures walk back use facilities reboard and leave. the place was packed and we had about 5 minutes in the actual place..very bad_br/_ the church was get in, ok so this is this this thats it under 10 mins and for refreshment stop there was enough time to buy a coffee and walk round with it, no time to sit and relax. the mint was a complete waste of tim.

The trip to Kutna Hora was awesome and our tour guide was very informative even though she did English and French. It was still very easy to understand her and both languages on the tour felt welcomed. While you will see a lot on the tour... you will not have much time to have lunch so I highly recommend brining your own snack.

We have used Viator for several tours both in the US and abroad and they have all been excellent. This was the exception. My husband and I could not understand the guide at all so we might a well have done it on our own. We were not the only ones who could not understand. We had grown to trust the Viator name when booking tours and now will be more careful.

This was a macabre but fascinating tour. The town is actually quite lovely with an interesting history. The bone church is a kind of ghoulish in comparison, but still worth seeing.

See the medieval town of Kutna Hora on this 5-hour trip from Prague. Led by an expert guide, travel by comfortable coach to explore the 13th-century area known for its silver mines. See the famous bones inside Sedlec Ossuary and the UNESCO-listed St Barbaras Cathedral. After soaking up the history, architecture and culture of this unique town, you'll be driven back to Prague.

While the sites of Kutna Hora were good and well worth seeing, we found it disappointing that the whole trip was rushed from the time we first arrived at the Ossary to toilet breaks to visiting St Barbara and #39;s Cathedral and during our meal. _br/_ I didn and #39;t even have time to buy a post card of the Ossary.

It was a good day trip, but I would have liked more time at the church as it is so unique, we only had about 20 minutes, it felt rushed. Other than that, the rest was fine.

I thoroughly enjoyed this day even though it was pouring with rain the whole time. The bone church takes up a very small section of the day. It's a very small area. Fascinating and worth seeing. For me though the surprise of the day was the other church you see. I have seen many churches now in Europe and was close to the stage, I can't possibly see another church!! This church though is certainly from the outside, for me, one of the most beautiful churches in Europe. Inside is nice but outside is beautiful. The pub we chose for lunch was ordinary but it was warm and we were grateful for the heat it provided. A thoroughly enjoyable tour.

It was boring... mostly because our guide wasn't interesting. Her English was difficult to understand and her tone put us to sleep. Honestly, we could have gotten there by our selves via public transport, I didn't feel this tour had any added value. skip it.

We picked this tour over the other one through Viator as this provided a dedicated bus. The tour was a half-day one and was rushed right from the beginning. The guided gave absolute no opportunity to pause and take a few pictures - he would say his stuff and we would be herded like sheep to the next location. The bone church was all of 15 mins, did not have an opportunity to stand and admire the beautiful Saint Barbara cathedral as we all had to go in with the guide in order to take advantage of the pre-paid ticket. There was a shortage of local guides at the Italian court...so again, just rushed around without being able to absorb anything. The only time we were allowed to walk around was at the end when we were given a hour off to eat at an Italian restaurant._br/_ If you want to visit these places just to say that you have been there, this tour is for you. If you want to spend a few minutes marveling at the churches, paintings, structures - then you are better off doing it on your own. Its a shame as this could have been such a wonderful tour.
